When they first announced this reboot, I was hoping it would be more like the British version of the show, but this is probably gonna be more in line with the American/Canadian version, right? I LOVED the British version, especially the humor and just the fact that they took themselves less seriously... it's a shame it was so short.

I'm 5 episodes in and, even though I feel about 10-15 years too old for this show, I'm loving it! It's very tame and safe, but such a cute little show.
It's funny how this got me feeling quite nostalgic when it resembles nothing of my personal experience in high school lol... It does remind me of how my first crushes felt though! It's actually a bit bittersweet... it's shame that things were so different when I was a teen, but still so happy for LGBTQ+ kids these days! (for living in a more accepting - even if still far from perfect - world and for having a show like this to see themselves represented in)

It does look super adorable! A bit more teenybopper-ish than I was expecting but I'm fine with that.
I'm not familiar with the original material, but the trailer made it seem a bit predictable, yet heartwarming... I'm in!

Is Andre Lamoglia’s character relevant this season? I’m confused cause he’s so heavily featured on the promotion they are doing on Netflix Brazil (probably because he’s Brazilian lol), but he’s barely shown on the trailer (which made me think he’s probably not that important to the story this season). I stopped watching in the middle of the third season, so I’m not that up to date with the new characters.

Excited that we have a date set for the new season.
Also, I had a feeling this would be a 3 season show... I just couldn't see it going beyond Creekwood High since they are probably graduating this season. Three solid seasons seems like a great run for this.
Can't wait for June

Filming for season 3 has officially begun. Showrunner and Emmy nominated director for Pose, Steven Canals, is set to direct an episode of season 3 titled “The Setup”.

I love how tight this cast is... they are always hanging out with each other, and I think the chemistry really translates on screen.
This recent tweet by Isabella (Pilar) is pretty funny

I actually thought they made the right decision on making Rahim’s background a non-issue for his coming out. They were able to subvert expectations and, most importantly, avoided repeating a similar storyline that we just saw with Victor… there’s no need to go through that again. I think the main point about Rahim’s background was probably more about the third member of the “triangle” also being from an ethnic minority so they could explore a different relationship perspective/dynamics to Benji’s (As they already touched on in season 2 and I’m sure will come up more if they go on with this triangle for season 3)

Finished the show yesterday!
In terms of the gay storyline, it was very predictable but very cute (and sad)! They have great chemistry together!
I knew Simon looked familiar... he was part of FO&O lol
The show as a whole was alright. I wish they had developed the supporting characters more... a lot of them have so much potential but they just weren't explored (probably because of lack of time) which made the show a bit "half-coocked"... I hope they're able to flesh out the other characters a little more if we get a second season.

After reading some reviews/recaps of the show I started thinking about some theories for S3
I don't think that Benji's sobriety attribute was given to him just to break up Venji... I think it'll actually be an integral part of S3. That's probably why they set it up but didn't really explored it, the same way they hinted (quite superficially) at some storylines from S2 during the later half of the first season. It's definitely in line with the more mature topics the show seems interested now and I think it moves the storyline to a new tension point (since we won't have Isabel's disproval anymore). It could actually be a great chance for them to explore a new side of Victor: not the one needing help, but the supportive partner. His "last" talk to Simon also points to that direction... showing Victor as someone more secure to tackle life problems. I also don't think we'll get an answer to the love triangle when we find out who opens the door (I could actually see it being someone like Benji's dad, just to not give a resolution right away). I also have a feeling they will explore Victor and Rahim's relationship in a more platonic way. Not only do I think they work better as friends, but I also have a very hard time imagining they going for a Vahim love story when they just had so many symbolic Venji scenes this season (they exchanging "I Love You's", "I could never give up on you even if I tried", Isabel telling Benji that her son really loves him, etc...). It would also be great to have two gay characters co-existing without their interaction being all love-related.
I don't know... any thoughts?

Was able to finish the season last night and I can't wait for season 3!
I'm actually torn about who I want to see opening that door. I LOVED Rahim, but I don't know... I feel like they have more of a friends connection. Michael Cimino and George Sear are an absolute joy to watch together... I was 100% on the "Venji" train, but I was not too happy with the way Benji kinda changed towards the end of the season. I can see how frustrating it must be to be treated like trash by your in-law but that doesn't give you a free-pass to act like an asshole towards your boyfriend. Victor telling Rahim about AA was the only time his anger felt justified at, which ultimately was the final straw, so I guess that storyline felt right in the end. Having said that, I have a very strong feeling that, regardless of what they do with the door cliffhanger, they will probably bring "Venji" back together at some point (judging by the strong fan response to them breaking up).
Now talking about the whole season: Thank god the show moved to Hulu. Even though I loved the charming naiveté of the first season, the show gained a lot by not having the Disney restrictions this time. I also felt that the cast took advantage of that and shined even stronger this season. Michael Cimino plays Victor so well in my opinion... It's a performance that is both subtle and captivating (also, with George Sear, both handled the intimacy between Victor and Benji so naturally). Ana Ortiz was amazing throughout the entire season. Watching her character's arc was so upsetting at times, but also so rewarding in the end (also, kudos to the writers for subverting expectations by spinning the "unaccepting father" trope and making Armando a character I actually loved this season). The storyline between Felix and his mom was also a very emotional standout and the actors certainly delivered! I also fell in love with Lake (and Bebe Wood) this season... She nailed both her comedic and more emotional moments. The rest of the cast were all great but in less exciting storylines. I really missed Pilar this season... the whole love storyline with Felix felt underdeveloped and bland to me.
Finally, I have to say that I actually got a bit teary eyed during that final (?!) Victor-Simon interaction. I actually see A LOT of my younger self in Victor, so I guess seeing him being able to move forward with a strength and confidence in himself that I certainly didn't have at that age (and still struggle to have nowadays) hit me in a kind of bittersweet way

This season was really good, the upgrade to the Hulu was very much needed. Will we get a third season? I think so. From the interviews they've done, the producers seem quite confident about a third season. The general public response seems bigger than the first season and the the reviews seem to be following the same path

I haven’t watched the last two episodes yet, so I don’t know what will happen in detail to give a deeper analysis (lol), but judging by the overwhelming pro-Benji response on social media, I have a very hard time imagining the producers/writers not bringing “Venji” back for season 3. Having said that, I’m sure we won’t be getting a definitive answer regarding Victor’s love life so soon next season… I have a feeling they will trick us with this door situation lol

It seems that Anthony Keyvan, the actor who plays Rahim, is getting a lot of hateful messages as a result of his story . Please learn to separate a fictional character from the actor who plays him at once. #LoveVictor Internet fandoms are the worst

Just finished ep. 8 (that one was intense! lol). I'll leave the last 2 for tomorrow
I was so into Victor + Benji as a couple. They had so many great/cute scenes in the first half of the season, the actors have such great chemistry and their intimate scenes felt very natural. It was a little sad to see how fast things have derailed between then on ep. 7 + 8
Ana Ortiz is so good in this! Her "I'm not giving up on God. I'm giving up on you" was a moment! The confrontation with Victor and Benji after she caught then having sex at the apartment was also pretty good for all three of then.
I'm actually surprised at how much I like the dad now... he was one the few characters I didn't care about last season, but he has won me over on season 2 (so far, at least lol)
I'm not really felling Pilar with Felix though. I Love Pilar, but I think the dynamics between Lake and Felix create a more fun relationship to watch (since they're so different). Also, I'm really loving Lake this season and Bebe goes from comedy to drama so well... very talented young girl.
I'm liking Rahim so far, but I feel like they introduced him too late into the season. I'm curious to see where the character goes on last 2 eps

I haven't watched the full season yet, but judging by the general public response on social media, the supporting cast (especially Felix and Lake) gets a LOT of love, so I can see why they get so much airtime as they do. I do love most of the supporting characters, so it doesn't bother me so much, but I think the real problem is that the episodes are too short... I think 45 minutes would be perfect for the show!

Guys, try to keep the spoilers in the spoilers discution thread, please
I only got the chance to watch the first 4 episodes but I’m loving it so far!
I’m so glad they made the switch from Disney+ to Hulu. The way they’re managing to balance a more mature approach to the already established tone of the show has been perfect to me.
I’m really into all the storylines so far, but Victor and Benji are definitely a highlight… they are so damn cute together. I’ll probably watch the rest of the episodes over the weekend but now I’m kinda scared about the second half of the season ‘cause I read that’s when the real drama begins lol
