Sadly I think the show bowed to pressure from the bigots who accused this particular pairing of you know what. Mind you, there'd been no blowback for the straight teens who'd even gotten pregnant, but a gay couple who don't even kiss are too sexual. I think Alfie Clarke turns 16 later this year, so they may make another attempt at giving Arthur a romance after that, because I don't think the actor is opposed to it in any way. Even last year before this story began filming he took part in the Leeds Pride parade. Or maybe they have decided more than one gay couple at one time is too much for their audience to handle. Let's face it, the bigots are hardly going to back down if it's Nicky and Suni hooking up - they've already started denouncing them as too horny/all about sex to fall into bed soon after meeting for the first time. (Again, no complaints about the many straight affairs and pregnancies from one-night stands.) |

If I remember it right, after she apologised to Billy, Gabby decided she couldn't live in the village any more due to not being able to move on from Nicky. She hated the fact she kept seeing him around the village all happy with Suni while her own life was falling apart, so she decided to go and live with her grandma Diane Sugden who now lives in Portugal, and promptly booked a same-day flight and left.

It was just a short break, I presume the actress had time off. She's back now and still hellbent on vengeance against Nicky (and Suni, since he's standing by him).

Not a spoiler as such, just conjecture on my part, but is it too early to take a punt on Amit being responsible for Rishi's death?
That haunted look he had on his face when he first saw the bottom of the stairs where Rishi's body was found, immediately made me think that he had probably turned up at the house on Jai and Laurel's wedding day, had an argument with Rishi that caused a tussle between them, and ended up pushing him down the stairs.
I can definitely see them going with that storyline. They like the OTT soapy stuff at Emmerdale.

Aaron is going to make another move on Ethan but is rejected. I just hope Ethan sticks to his guns. Not everything needs to be about a love story, i like the Arthur has things to do while he is single But is he getting something else to do? Not really. He's been barely present in the show since the Marshall story ended six months ago, and definitely not leading his own storyline. I guess he does get some airtime, unlike the other surviving teen boy of their group (Elliott), but it's still nothing compared to what the girls are getting. I just think a romance would give him something more because it'll be about him, even if they're going to treat it with kid gloves and not let him kiss the other lad onscreen. |

I remember Supernatural fans used to joke about Sam Winchester having the "dick of death." I wonder if one could say the same about Aaron - other than the boyfriends he had offcamera (we did see Ed but only for a brief time), his luckiest partner is rotting away in prison. And Victoria, I guess, but she is a bit player. |
