With the latest Marshall spoilers having him move in with Arthur's family - which I expect to be longer term since Colin is clearly unrepentant, are we going to see a future where the boys end up foster brothers and that is the obstacle to their relationship, a la The Fosters' Brandon and Callie?

This storyline is going down the drain. I have no interest in it anymore.

Don't worry folks, Marshall ran a country mile when Cathy made a move on him.

Not sure if it's relevant to Ethan, but Jimmy's nephew Thomas King has been recast and will reappear in the village later this year. He is the son of Jimmy's late brother, Carl, and a bit of a villain who had a romantic history with Belle Dingle. He was last seen as a teenager when he fled the village after terrorizing the people he blamed for his dad's murder. He was young enough to not know his sexuality back then, so could he be back as a bisexual? Or is a bi villain too similar to Robert? www.digitalspy.com/soaps/emmerdale/a43384648/emmerdale-recasts-thomas-king-new-storyline/

At least one of them's finally back in the spoilers. I was starting to wonder what had happened to them. And wasn't Ethan supposed to be living his best life, exploring the opportunities as a single gay man? Nothing on that front either. I guess it's all on hold until Pride month.

I saw a post on another board (with no attribution) that Nicky and Ethan would have a fling. Would Ethan really do that knowing Nicky is Gabby's fiance?
Nicky is also Aaron's first cousin (half-cousin to be precise, as they share only one grandparent, Faith).

I saw a post which suggested the guy who recently arrived to cause problems for Nicky is the one who hooks up with Ethan.

I don't think I've ever heard a guy called Ally Ally is a recent addition to the show and only made his first appearance in April when Nicky and Gabby went to The Hop to chat about their upcoming wedding and they bumped into him. He claimed to be an old student friend of Nicky's, but it quickly became obvious that it was no chance meeting. When they were alone, Nicky hissed "What are you doing here?" and followed up with "Don't mess this up for me." Ally countered with "I can't believe you're getting married and you didn't even tell me." In front of Gabby he deliberately teased Nicky with skewed comments about how he didn't think Gabby was the type of person that he would be attracted to and jokingly told Gabby to make sure he really loved her and wasn't just doing it for the money. In his second appearance he was revealed (to the audience) to be Nicky's secret boyfriend, when the two of them met up on a lonely country road and kissed. They ended up spending the night together. Ally has only appeared in (I think) three episodes so far, but he is set to be a continuing fly in the ointment in Caleb and Nicky's plans against the Tates. Nicky is already finding it harder and harder to keep up the pretence with Gabby and will seek further solace with Ally in the coming weeks.

I had a uni mate nicknamed Ali (short for Alistair). Don't think I've ever seen it spelled Ally for a man.
I am bemused by the double standards. When Nicky is seducing Gabby, he is shown shirtless for multiple scenes, even in his underwear. But his love scene with the guy he is truly attracted to is relegated offscreen. Same thing happened with Marcus and Ethan - like they were forbidden to show either of them shirtless together. Is that dumb and discriminatory rule still in place?

Ethan dumped Marcus, so Marcus left the village I know he is gone now, but when they were together, they were never shown in bed, and their only passionate scene had Marcus take off his shirt...to reveal a short-sleeved t-shirt underneath. Marcus's cheating also took place offscreen. I cannot help thinking that if they'd been a heterosexual couple, we would have seen way more.

There are no rules preventing those types of scenes being shown (unless they have made recent changes to the watershed protocol). That type of decision is usually down to the production team, although I don't deny that there could have been some unofficial influence from higher up to keep the show anchored in the PG zone. They do seem to be much less adventurous with certain types of scenes than they once were.

Not really a spoiler as such but I guess Alfie Clarke (Arthur) and Max Fletcher (Marshall) are still filming together. They seem to have dropped off the face of the earth on the show... http://instagram.com/p/CsyRQpZIdBe
