I will hate it if they have Luke cheating (offscreen) on Victoria. Do we really need such a negative representation? Why not make Luke bi and genuinely into Victoria instead of sneaking around her back to have flings with men? Next we will learn he has been popping little blue pills to get it up in the bedroom with her.

Major return for Robert Sugden confirmed in Emmerdale? I'll admit I didn't see that twist coming, but it's more than a little bemusing that we have another queer male cheater in the frame for murder - in this case of his own BROTHER, whose son he is now raising! |

Major return for Robert Sugden confirmed in Emmerdale? I'll admit I didn't see that twist coming, but it's more than a little bemusing that we have another queer male cheater in the frame for murder - in this case of his own BROTHER, whose son he is now raising! If this is true. I wonder if Ryan will be reprising the role or will they get another actor to play Robert? The reason why I say this is because when it was first announced that Ryan was leaving Emmerdale. One of my journalist friends told me that one of the main reasons why Ryan was leaving was because he wanted to get away from the spotlight. According, to what I was told Ryan is a very quiet person and doesn't like the spotlight very much he really dislikes doing interviews and photoshoots he's just a very quiet person. I remember Danny Miller saying one time in an interview that he was trying to get Ryan on some kind of social media, but that Ryan refused to. I know that his wife just gave birth to their first child (a boy) I'm not exactly sure when though. I'm just curious would Robron fans accept another actor playing Robert if Ryan decides not to return? |

Wow! So Max Parker (Luke) is leaving the show. I didn't see that coming at all and feel quite disappointed. Not only is he nice eye candy but I thought this might have been a good way for the show to re-explore some of the 'coming out' tropes in a fresh way. It's been a full decade since Aaron and there's likely a whole new generation of viewers who would benefit from having easy access to a show that might cover some of the issues they feel are relevant to them.

Yeah it came as a shock to me, too. Didn't think they would wrap up his story that quickly. Having him leave the village in disgrace after coming out is not exactly the kind of story I hoped they would write - especially during Pride month. Why is it impossible for soaps to acknowledge the existence of bisexual men? Luke could easily have been bi but simply afraid of revealing his previous relationship with another man because of the stigma it brings where women refuse to believe a bi man can truly love them and isn't secretly lusting after other men.

The fact that the actor is the only openly gay one of the bunch doesn't make it easier to understand the decission.
The truth is british soaps are full of gay characters right now but in most cases the writers don't seem to know what to do with them (and the mortality is quite high too)

they are so trying to get the fans to like victoria again making her the only one fighting for fan favorite robert which is sad because she was the one who wouldnt lie for her brother in the first place if it was andy i bet she would

This should be a major departure, but I won't really miss Aaron - I feel like Danny Miller checked out a long time ago and phones in anything that's not sturm und drang for his character.
I wonder what'll happen to Ben with Aaron gone - he doesn't really exist outside of Aaron. What a shame they imprisoned Robert and killed off Finn. They can always pair Ben with Ethan but neither's a legacy character nor related to a core family like the Dingles, Sugdens, or Bartons. Mack might've qualified for the latter being Moira's brother, but unless they pull a 180 now, that's off the table. It still makes no sense to me that, out of all the women in the village, Mack's head over heels in love with Charity.

I suspect Ben will exit the series along with Aaron. They've already got him looking for work elsewhere in the country and he was applying online for a job somewhere in Norfolk in yesterday's episode. I think Aaron wanting to secure his future with Ben will turn out to be the reason he leaves.
I'm sure I also read something about Aaron and Liv having another big fall out too (which seemed a bit weird to me at the time as they had recently just finished that type of storyline together) but it makes sense to create a schism between brother and sister as that will be another deciding factor for Aaron to choose to make a new start elsewhere with Ben.

i cant say i am surprised by him leaving, and in an way i am glad,
i would like if they recast the role in the future but i doubt that will happen.
i was done with the whole arron storyline a while ago, after robert left as it just seamed like the writers were done with him, i dont know how much of that was producers and how much was danny, but he has never seamed to embrace the role as much as other straight actors did in the past, with a similar roles. but i am finally done with the dale i think after this.

That happened in tonight's episode (although they didn't actually reveal whether he was still alive or not at the end of the episode).
I have to admit it annoyed and frustrated me the way they turned Ben into a gormless idiot just to facilitate the plot. Why didn't he put any lights on instead of lurking about in the dark? Why did he leave the most important bit of evidence - the camera - in the car then remember it as an afterthought? Why didn't he scarper straight back out the door as soon as he saw Meena wasn't still unconscious on the floor? And most importantly, has he never watched a Friday the 13th movie before to know what was bound to happen next?
So, now that the scriptwriters have made it plain they want to see Danny Miller shed some tears again before he leaves, I guess there's going to be no happy ending for Aaron. <sigh!> 😞
