This aired yesterday so I think we are safe to discuss it in General.
Lawrence Robb (Mack) is insanely sexy.

Wasn't sure if this should go in the direct spoiler thread or not. Certainly looks interesting, though I can't imagine what size Pride they'll have in that dinky Emmerdale street.

I suspect it will just be a Pride event in the Woolpack or something along those lines, not a full-fledged parade. It makes no sense to have a parade in Emmerdale village!
Speaking of Pride - can they finally get around to having Luke acknowledge his sexuality, and make up their minds whether Mackenzie is just a straight queer-baiter or a member of the queer community! Both of these story threads are dragging out for way too long.

I tend to think the Pride event is going to play a major part in Luke's story. I can't really think of any other reason it would be so up front and central in the show. Unlike Hollyoaks, Emmerdale usually only make a big deal out of something when it's going to help drive forward a plotline.
As for Mack and Aaron, I don't mind the slow burn. I'm more of the opinion the flirting will be used more to bromance them up into a bickering old-married-couple style partnership. Whether the scriptwriters would take that any further, I'm not so sure.
Whatever happened to Ben? Is he still in the kyak shed?

LOL, Mack's promise to do "anything" for Aaron makes it sound like he's offering to bottom for him.
But in all seriousness, why do they give these crime storylines to them? The show never seems to learn from its missteps of the past. I'm not against a queer villain but do they all have to be so ineffectual, always go for the low-hanging fruit (no pun intended) and then get the crap kicked out of them?

I find this "friendship" interesting because of how much Aaron loves and respects Cain. He knows Cain can't stand Mack so him going basically out of his way to be friends with him suggests to me the show is building up to something between them. Which may lead to Moria and Cain having to deal with Mack because of Aaron and their connection whatever that is going to end up being. Hopefully, they aren't having Mack bating Aaron. And I'm guessing Ben is out of the picture at this point. To me Ben was more along the lines of Jackson, just a good guy, and Mack is more along the lines of Robert, a bad boy who can be reformed kind of. We know the shows loves to heap angst on Aaron, Mack is a better story option in that regard.

I think that's part of the nature of Emmerdale crimes in general - they don't want their main characters to be too effective and lose viewer sympathy, aside from longtime "hardmen" like Cain. Ross also got a lot of scenes of screwing up and being an adorable woobie. I do wonder if they have any actual plans to make Mack bi...so far I feel like they are just hedging their bets. I won't be surprised if he ends up with Debbie.

The bully-victim romance trope is more offensive to me than queerbaiting (if that's what this turns out to be).

I liked Ben but as his own character, not Aaron's love interest. That's just toxic. I hope they pair him with Ethan or Luke.
