I really do wonder who's gonna be gay in Respira It's possible no one... It will be rare given the creator of the show

I suppose he wants to avoid typecast after prominent gay roles

I watched a couple of videos and it's the typical telenovela gay storyline (without any physical contact).
I don't find Diego effeminate, he is simply soft, and the guy is cute but his outfits and hats don't do him any favours

They should not go there in a near future.
In my opinion the best scenario is to give Tommy a chance. A lot of people seem to like him and let Buck explore his sexuality is the best way to get a good story.
If that doesn't work it would be a different story

To be honest, i don't think they will go there.
In my oppinion they will give the relationship with Tommy a chance and if fans like it they will stick with it.
Both exploring (Buck and Eddie) their bisexuality at the same time after so many years it will be weird but probably they will keep the door open for a future development (or at least the posibility)

The trailer for Red Flags on Atresplayer just dropped and I'm extremely disappointed. There's no sign of any gay (male) characters, only heteros and lesbians, as usual. I think you are wrong. The show is created by Nando López who is a writer and openly gay. He said that he wanted to make main characters from characters who are always in supporting roles. And i think at least one (if not two) of the main male characters are gay

I was going to open a thead about it.
Adrián is in fact one of the main character, of course he is closeted and show plays with the fact that there are openly lesbian players in the female team (in this case is totally realistic).
I read it's not a great show but very entertaining

Alpha Males (spanish show on netflix) has some "heteroflexible" plot in season 2. The hottest guy of the main cast, Raúl, gets suck off by a man. Raúl is gay in real life. Right now there are two same sex couples on two different dance shows. In one case was kind of expected because the guy is gay but in the other case it was totally surprising because the guy is married (with a woman and they have a child) and he was a soccer player. He had to chose a dance partner and he said he had some prejudices and want to overcome them so he decided to choose a guy as his dance partner.

Sometimes gay storylines came from unexpected places. I watched the trailer of Mano de hierro which is about mafia in the docks and all i see is a typical action spanish show, but well, it seems that one of the main characters (Jaime Lorente, Elite, La casa de papel) is a closeted married man, and he has a boyfriend (played by Joel Bosqued).
Given the type of the show, i don't know if there's anything remotely romantic but it seems there are a lot of sex

Martin said no comment (but Juanjo's face said everything you want to know). Los Javis promised him a role when they visited the Academia and he was studying Dramatic Arts so it's obvious he wants to be an actor (apart of a singer). From the title of the show it's obvious there will be lots of gay stories

Well, Operación Triunfo will end this monday. Juanjo and Martin are both in the final.
They are very popular. The show was incredibly gay and lesbian (and something in between) this year. Only five of the 16 contestants indentify as straight.
Juanjo and Martin relationship was quite curious to watch. Martin was pretty open about his sexuality, Juanjo on the other hand seemed pretty closeted at first (not anymore). They have quite opposite characters too, and while Martin is totally unexperience in terms of career, Juanjo (who has a pretty amazing voice) participated in a lot of talent shows. By the way Martin is 18 and Juanjo is 19

For me the split is not a problem at all, i'm so slow at watching Netflix shows that i will probably need another week (at least) to get into the final part

I don't know if it's really a good idea to get rid of a character who is part of a very popular couple (and frankly i don't found the article interesting, the whole accurate despiction of a 2024 gay man thing rub me in the wrong way)

The show ended last month. It was one of the longest running shows in spanish tv. It's easy to remember when it started because the first episode aired in 09/11/2001.
I don't know if Santi have a lot of airtime in the last season because it was quite short (i didn't followed the show but he was there in the last episode)

Well, not an scripted show but a talent, but this years Operación Triunfo is full of gays. There are at least two lesbians and three gays (people spread rumours about a gay triangle but it's wishful thinking, on the other hand a gay couple seems quite possible)

I have the novel but didn't read it. I think the show is quite different because the novel seems to be totally focused on the 50's (and a part at the beginning of the 90's) while the show seems to move through decades. And it's difficult to make a show (or write a novel) about gay men in the mcCarthy era without being at least a bit depressing. The cast is really good If that's what's going on in the novel I wonder why they put in the 80ties AIDS crisis. I mean those 2 periods are very bad for the gays... Maybe (i have the novel but i didn't read it yet, so that's the impression that i got) they simply want to cover gay history using the original stoyrline. Yes the 80's were bad, but that doesn't change the fact that it's a very important period in gay history. I get the impression they are promoting the show way more lately. Maybe it's because they got some nominations (i don't remember the award)

It was released the first tease of Reina Roja (Red queen) based on Juan Gómez-Jurado novels. Jon the main male character is gay but this is a thriller so don't expect a gay storyline. Is it because Jon has no love life in the novels? They are investigating so no love life (neither him neither Antonia), at least in the novels (it's mentioned that he is not chaste so maybe there are some scenes on the show but that's not the focus)
