I not sure if I can watch this.
I literally grew up with all Gay relationships ending in heartbreak / disaster.
I sick of it. Want a feel good ending. I know this show ends bad. It a given unless they change the ending.
Call Me By Your Name author regretted the horrible ending as tried to write a sequel to correct. Armie being a creep means we won't see it and now we got another sad ending.

The Show is hot, but also very depressing, and the roles are not always very sympatic, especially the role of Bomer, is to selfish for my taste. But of course it was another time, but also to American for me, like all politics goes over corpses, if they get a win from it.

Absolutely love this. Realistic and a bit depressing. Boomer & Bailey are both AMAZING in this. Can't get enough of it. I hope there is Season 2, though it seems like a one off season show.

Well, there are a lot of "interesting" scenes on this show.
I don't have showtime but i'm thinking in reading the novel (looks depressing but interesting)

Excellent show. Finally a show where the gay characters are main characters, and actually played by gay actors too! The story is excellent as well. And of course the sex scenes I'll give it 8/10. I'm kinda sick of is AIDS stories, but I don't mind as long as they're done well, which this is.

One of the things that Elite did really well was doing an AIDS storyline with a straight female character for a change

I agree, Hawk's not very likeable hahaha but I love getting mad at him. And I like that it's kinda a different approach to closets and portrayals of AIDS (at least that I have watched)

I have the novel but didn't read it. I think the show is quite different because the novel seems to be totally focused on the 50's (and a part at the beginning of the 90's) while the show seems to move through decades.
And it's difficult to make a show (or write a novel) about gay men in the mcCarthy era without being at least a bit depressing.
The cast is really good

I have a question about Jackson, did they imply he was gay and couldn't accept himself and that's why he died of a heroin overdose?

Maybe (i have the novel but i didn't read it yet, so that's the impression that i got) they simply want to cover gay history using the original stoyrline. Yes the 80's were bad, but that doesn't change the fact that it's a very important period in gay history. I get the impression they are promoting the show way more lately. Maybe it's because they got some nominations (i don't remember the award)

Simply he was using and couldn't overcome it. But in the previous episode they hinted at it. Jackson said he was a poet, that he was "different", he thought that's why his dad didn't love him. I was wondering if he had started to question his sexuality and Hawk saw himself in his son, which is why they were distant. At that point Hawk hated himself because he was gay. I know he found a Playboy magazine in Jackson's desk, but many gay boys try different things before finding out they're gay. Maybe that's why he started using too, he simply couldn't deal with the fact that he was gay.

Maybe that's why he started using too, he simply couldn't deal with the fact that he was gay. I still don't think they were implying he was gay. I think they wanted to stress that the problem between Hawk and Jackson was that Jackson was very sensitive boy (poet), emotional and he sensed that his father wasn't himself and was playing a role. He sensed that in his mother too but he probably blamed his father that he and his mother were unhappy. He couldn't quite put his finger on it. He was also rebellious which is another source of conflict. With a show with so many lgbtq characters, making Jackson gay would be useless and kind of "too much". If he was, I think this would have been more firmly established... Although I understand your point: generally people hate in others characters they themselves have and which they also despise in themselves.
