As a total aside...we love those mugs. Although you'd think Deniz was poisoned based on his face.

First Pic - Grrr! Go Olli. Stand up for yourself! (I like it!) Second Pic - You know there was more contact between the two in this one episode thanthe entire storyline of Nuke. I fail to appreciate that sometimes. It's so common to see Ollian being handsy with one another. Third and Fourth Pics - I'm not upset about the beard story (yet). I see why she did it and it makes sense that she did it to help. I can also see now why they will go along. I also think it plays well for a future public "coming out" Plus...it was worth it to see the looks on Olli and Christian's faces

Week of June 30: " Noah goes to see Luke and confesses his love for him... and then drops the bomb that he's joining the Army." (Cyndi Lauper week.) www.afterelton.com/node/17704I love you but I'm outta here. When he says this I hope Luke just has a look of shock and confusion on his face and then shakes his head a little..."Okay Noah. I'm done. You're a mess. Buh-bye"

[/img]
Today's lesson: It pays to go through all the threads page by page. *Phew!* BTW...I read on Jo's Wiki page that he studied in the USA after Medicopter. Did he live in Hollywood or some other area? Anybody know? I wonder what he thought of America.

Do we have any evidence that the writer's of HO read the various forums? Let's hope we get through to them if they do

I assume since this is the spoiler discussion it's okay to mention the spoiler...unlike the general discussion section.
So...according to the spoiler JP realizes just what Kieron has given up for him for their relationship and is moved to propose marriage. I don't mind that reaction. What I will mind is Kieron's answer. I hope he is flattered, even moved that JP understands what Kieron has been through. I hope he looks at JP and says...No. No marriage yet. I accept your proposal to be engaged but it's gonna be a very very long engagement.

Why does he feel the need to please Vanessa even though Vanessa doesn't even seem that desperate for it? As Roman said, Deniz seems to flirt with everybody without even noticing it. Maybe it's not even an concious decision. At this point I'm wondering if he doesn't just show everybody what he thinks they want to see. Actually, that could be a very interesting dimension of his character. Maybe they could get to the root of why he does that...gives so much just to be loved or accepted.

I thought maybe you thought there was a deeper meaning there. Like it was actually part of the building of his character. Instead it's just part of his inconsistencies.

I read a post, I think it was here, where someone quoted a writer of the show and they said something like: I don't know why the fans think we've dropped the DeRo story. There's more to come.
But I think the quote was from a month or so ago.
I hope if they do get this going again that they work on making Deniz a better character...I don't mean nice or anything, he can be a jerk...I just wish we could understand the logic a little more instead of asking "Why'd he do that?" all the time.

The problem is that in retrospect it makes you wonder how much of that was real and how much of that was faked. Did he just do it to please Roman and his heart wasn't all in it? Or in it in just some parts? I'm just comparing it to the lengths he goes to keep on faking it with Vanessa even though nobody asks him too, his father doesn't seem to give a damn about who Deniz is with at the moment since he is way too occupied with his own unhappy love life and never seemed to be that excited about DeVa in the first place, Vanessa has run out on him with a big "I'm out of this", they have completely cut ALL the stuff with the ice hockey interaction so there is no peer pressure either. If nobody is watching, who on earth is Deniz faking it for? (and again, he was doing her in secret at the beginning while unwilling to break off his public relationship with Roman) It just makes so little sense. Why do you think he feel would obligated to please Roman? Do you think that there is an evil side to Deniz that is about to come out? A side that will do whatever is needed to get something.

It may be a different expericence if you speak German and don't have to read the subtitles while watching the scenes, but I thought Deniz's coming out and gay "moments" were a little strange. I mean, he didn't just come out of the closet, he broke the door down. It's like he went from confused about his attraction - to kissing Roman in a restaurant - to no problem kissing in front of his family. There didn't seem to be that uncertain middle ground where he tested the waters and got comfortable with himself. Maybe there were little things that were said that you can't pick up in the translation...not sure. It all seemed to burn white hot and then just fizzle.
That being said...I think Deniz is a good actor. You know the scene in the shower where he's crying because he let Roman get bashed? That was a good scene. He really let it all out as an actor in that scene. That wasn't Hollyoaks tears...or worse yet Luke tears...he was really into it.

Goodbye Anightmeera. Don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya. When you resurface in 7 months as a mysterious figure in the shadow, preggers, causing problems for Nuke we'll bring your thread up again.
Welcome back Nuke!!

It's a soap so inappropriate infatuations are normal I suppose. And Deniz is unquestionably cute, except when he's been playing in the California snow. That said, Roman must have all the self-esteem of a door mat. Cute as he is there have to be humpy German studs just waiting to rock his world. Maybe Roman just loves the potential tragic diva-ness of Deniz's decline? Well, gays love a good cause and a mess...especially when they can be there to piece it back together. Maybe he is hoping for a full decline and then he can rebuild him.

Luke: Oh, Noah. You know you're the only guy I wanna jump up and down on the bed with.
BTW...NOW?? Now she has people in California she can go live with?

Well...after watching all the clips we could and reading the excellent recaps posted yesterday...we're not sure how we feel about this story. It just seems so messy front to back.
Jacob and I both, prior to dating each other have dated bisexual people. This story feels like dating a bisexual person. One who is still in the exploring stages. It's like make up your mind already soap...is he gonna be bi? Gay? Is he just a really messed up kid? Roman's a little odd also. He's a little old to try to be forcing himself on a 17-year-old trying to find himself. And at some point shouldn't Roman be moving on instead of pining away for Deniz? Not that Deniz isn't worth hanging around for...cuz he is HOT! But, umm, look for love Roman. Deniz doesn't seem interested in love with a guy. Sex, sure. Love, no.

I think the stairs that lead to the flat are at the back of the building. Because, when they come out of the hall into No Limit they are always coming from the left: I thought that for a moment, but there is an opening on the other side of the bar: so the stairs have to start right around the corner and they are VERY VERY steep (or maybe just VERY steep).

In the world of soaps marriage proposals have happened in less time. Hell, they've even happened to complete strangers you have no sexual attraction to (I'm looking at you ATWT). I'll hold my opinion on a JPK marriage until it actually appears on screen. Maybe it will make sense. Maybe it will make us wanna throw up. Maybe it will be an obvious device. We'll see.

Thanks Moderator, we'll be worshipping you with endless gratitude.. And look behind the shelves in Christian's room...there's another room. OMG, you're right, the wall is open! But I don't think there is another room, it probably is the hallway. But if this is the case, anybody can see what's happening inside! Gregor didn't even need to enter the room from the door to find out that Olli & Chris were in bed together. And the same for Lydia, and everybody else. Gosh, that house is an architectural nonsense.. Maybe the area behind the shelves is symbol. Like a hidden message to the diehard VL fans. It's really a closet behind the shelves and the set designers are saying Christian can no longer be in the closet now that he's out LOL
