So reading the comments on TWOP and here about the 31.03.08 episode ( gaydaytime.blogspot.com/2008/03/atwt-31-03-2008.html) and it seems like the episode was a crock of nuts. That's too bad. I was hoping throwing Casey in as Luke's pretend boyfriend would at least bring some entertainment to this current dreck of a storyline.

As I type this, the world's tiniest violin is playing for Ameera's pain.
That said, I am glad Luke told Noah that sometimes he gets the impression that Ameera thinks her marriage to Noah is real. I was glad to see Noah tell Ameera, and quite comfortably I might say, that he loves Luke.
I wasn't totally impressed with today but it was less awful than it has been for a while.

can i just say that how i absolutely creepy i found ameera's reaction to the whole 'casey & luke' set up? 'i'm your wife noah and i'll do everything you say.' i wonder what they'd to something like that back in iraq!

'i'm your wife noah and i'll do everything you say.' i wonder what they'd to something like that back in iraq! I flinched when she said "wife" and I suspect that is what made Luke tell Noah that he needs to remind Ameera it's a marriage in name only. I was very happy to see Noah so comfortably tell Ameera directly (and Casey indirectly) that he loved Luke. Big step for him. And Noah's moment at the end of the episode when he told Luke he was his even if he thought Casey was cute was nice. Moments like in today's episode make me not want to give up on the couple despite the crappiness of the show and the "Back In Iraq..." storyline. Side note: I don't mind Luke's new haircut, I actually like it, but why does it look SO greasy and, at times, flat?

Somehow I can't shake the feeling that before the year is over Ameera will be running around wieldig a steak knife?
Sigh. And to think I actually vaguely liked the idea of her (not in relation to Luke and Noah, just as having a Muslim character on a US soap).

he he, the next couple of episodes should be fun. it should give every one involved something to think about that the INS officer can just not imagine noah and ameera to be a married couple, yet has absolutely no problem picturing casey as luke's boyfriend :-))
yeah, i think they definitely go one step to far with luke's wet hair look, but he does look good with him.
at least in this episode they were back to cuddling and hugging. you know what? as long as it's sweet and fun it works for me. :-)

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who thought Ameera's reaction was creepy (to say the very least, suspicious). It's not just the things she says when she's around Noah and Luke, it's how she reacts. When Luke (who's clearly upset when Noah pushes him away from attempting to kiss him), Ameera's eyes rolled and she had this smirk on her face of "Look. You CAN'T KISS him in public when I'm around. Why can't you deal with it!", all the while trying to convey how "sorry" she is for being such a nuisance for the couple and the Snyder family. Did anyone else think it was interesting, that two weeks before the wedding, Ameera couldn't be in the same room hanging out with Casey BY HERSELF, yet in yesterday's episode, she's having coffee with him, after finding out that he was in jail and then she reaches out to touch his hand? Yes, Casey was a stranger to her at the dance, but she comes across like she can't be around any man, that's not Luke and Noah and that was before, during and after getting married to "her husband". can i just say that how i absolutely creepy i found ameera's reaction to the whole 'casey & luke' set up? 'i'm your wife noah and i'll do everything you say.' i wonder what they'd to something like that back in iraq!

What I find strange about Ameera is, that she must have been aware her visa expired and yet rather than doing something about it she just closed her eyes and pretended the problem would disappear. And yes, her reaction was creepy, it was as Luke said, she seems to think that the marriage is more than just an arrangement. And I wonder if Casey and Luke will have to do anything special to persuade that guy that they really are a couple ;D Probably not, as it's on P&G's watch, would be fun though...

I actually watched yesterday for the first time since the wedding...I can see I haven't missed much.
As for Luke's hair, my reaction was to question whether the whole axe-murderer look is good for him. :snicker:

Weird, but I am already over Luke teasing Casey about being uncomfortable pretending to be his boyfriend. I also didn't like the happy smirk on Ameera's face when Gwen offered the house to she and Noah. On the bright side, Luke's hair looked less greasy in Friday's episode. I despise "Back In Iraq..." so much. When will TIIC realize this storyline is a black hole of suck?

i will admit that i still get a major kick out of luke teasing casey - especially since casey wears the gayest gayface in all the land :-) he's really saying 'do me!' when he's saying 'get off me!' :-)) is that whole set up a tongue in cheek meta reference that van and bill are dating in real life? ***KIDDING***

To me, that's the real problem of the non-kissing Nuke. They just lose the momentum. At this point I rather enjoy Luke getting to be a bit mischiveous and tease Casey. And I almost hope that he kisses Casey eventually and gets tempted to start something with him. It's just no fun to watch Luke be the good little boyfriend who doesn't have any options.
There were moments during Christian/Oliver where I thought that Olli was just way too into Christian, way more than it was healthy and that he shouldn't be such a sappy good boy. But it is at least helped a bit by the fact that I know Olli can and even did a couple of times go out and get laid with random guys. It lessens the power imbalance.

Does anyone know the area code for Iraq? Someone should call and let them know where Ameera is.

So I did finally say goodbye to ATWT. I wanted to watch Friday's episode today and it started with Noah saying to Luke that it would be better if he went with Ameera to the Gwen & Will's goodbye party. I said WTF, turned it off and watched the VL video from April 4th instead ;D

So I did finally say goodbye to ATWT. When I read about Noah going to marry her, that was the last straw for me. That and the fact the powers that be kept saying they were taking it slow with them for good storytelling. no one is buying that crap. Poop.. two teens in love will have raging hormone action going on.. they would be all over each other..

Poop.. two teens in love will have raging hormone action going on.. they would be all over each other.. I haven't said goodbye yet but my enthusiasm for the show is practically nil. I was insulted that remaining viewers were told that what was going on was "good storytelling". It's storytelling but calling it good is either delusional or a blatant lie cause there is no actual quality in what is being aired with the L/N/A/C crap. The problem remains for me simply to be the character of Ameera. I despise the character and seeing her on the screen irritates me greatly. Her passive-aggressive comments about being "Noah's wife" grate. She's a horribly contrived plot device and TIIC have done nothing to make me feel anything toward her that is not negative. I feel badly for the actress cause I doubt she's getting love from the fans for her character. I think I still watch cause I remember the good times of Noah/Luke & I am not ready to give up supporting Van and Jake's work despite how much I loathe "Back In Iraq...".

I still love Nuke as a couple, because they have had lovely scenes together and I really like Van and Jake. (They make the most out of a crappy story; so they have my support ). The storyline starts getting boring and I'm with you on the Ameera-page... I hate the character. The only nice thing I have to say about her is that she has beautiful eyes. She's farrrrrr too needy and meek. Noop, don't like her at all... The ONLY thing that made me smile was Luke teasing Casey.

OH FUCK YOU WRITERS! I was reading the AE liveblog and this really pissed me off: This is good storytelling? FUCK YOU, WRITERS!

The AE liveblog was entertaining, to say the very least. I mean, we as viewers are supposed to be happy and appeased because TMFIC had a scene in which NUKE jumped on the bed for about 10 seconds, with their shirts off, while The Blonde Obstacle and Austin from Days got to be shown kissing, naked and laying in bed with each other?!
Yup, no double-standard at all.
We also get to see how the Plot Device is getting exactly what she wants: Noah all to herself. She's pissed off that she has to jump through a window, in order to be seen with her "fake husband", yet Luke's getting blue balls because he can't have a moment alone with his own boyfriend?!
They're throwing the NUKE audience scraps, while telling us that it's a meaty damn bone.

Bwahahhahaha, what is this? The 50s? And how old are Nuke? 5? 12? I swear even production code movies knew better ways to cleverly and sensually circumvent sex, but that is as they call it unterste Schublade.
