I can't think of ANY woman that I know that would allow her boyfriend to marry another woman who's in need of a Green Card. As a rule women do not see marriage, especially the all-important first one, as something undertaken casually, nor would they be inclined to wait a couple of years to become a second wife once the immigration stuff was worked out.
Now of course there's a subtle gay double-standard here of course, since Noah and Luke cannot marry in Illinois. Of course, they could easily move a couple hundred miles north to Canada to do so.
So suggesting that Luke should be okay with this just because he and Noah can't get married is just flat-out insulting. It suggests that he and Noah place very little value on their relationship.

The closest I can think of are cases where the women were willing to pimp their man out for some sort of deceit. For example Maggie on B&B allowed James to romance and marry Sheila because they wanted to have custody of Sheila's child. Similarly Taylor allowed Ridge to romance Brooke when they were trying to steal her controlling power over the company. Courtney had to put up with Jason marrying Brenda to keep her away from Sonny (long story). And I vaguely seem to remember Marlane agreeing to pimp John out to Kristen maybe? Or is that just in my head?
However, none of them took it quietly, there usually was some other sort of motivation, something they were getting out of it and the guy in question had to do lots and lots of pacifying. And that is the problem. Not just that they have an illogical storyline, but that because of the kissing ban we can't see what a silly storyline like this usually would have, namely lots and lots of Noah sexing Luke to assure him that he loves only him.
Soaps do silly storylines all the time, but usually their point is to showcase love and romance in some way or form. By mostly removing the romance, by skirting around the physical aspect they have removed any reason/justification to do a stupid storyline like this.

I'd have to agree with you. Unless she had no self-respect whatsover or was a complete moron, I can't think of a single woman I know - certainly not myself- who would allow her man to marry someone else, even for supposedly altruistic reasons. No fucking way. And it's very insulting. psionycx, if you've seen the updated spoilers for this week, you will be even more annoyed with Noah.

Are Luke and Noah the only gays in the village? There needs to be another guy who falls for Luke and vise versa. Noah would finally come to his senses because you never know a good thing (Luke) until its gone.

We know there is an alphabet soup club at Oakdale U that Luke is a member of as well as we've met the President of it and his lecherous toward Noah boyfriend. And then there was Roth, who made Noah jealous when he saw Luke having coffee with Roth.

WHAT GAY MAN WHO HAS A BOYFRIEND WOULD O F F E R TO SHARE A BED WITH THAT WOMAN?? aaaah. it's just all so dumb and stupid. moderately drunk, psi? sorry, with all the stuff going in oakdale going right now, i have to clear out the bar before the opening credits are over...

At this point, with the exception of Casey, everyone in this storyline is TOO STUPID TO LIVE and the spoilers only make the aggravation worse.

(oh, wait... but it was only to make a MOVIE, right? right!) also: i like casey more and more! have the character come out and start dating luke, so we can be RELIEVED of this misery!

(oh, wait... but it was only to make a MOVIE, right? right!) also: i like casey more and more! have the character come out and start dating luke, so we can be RELIEVED of this misery! At this point Casey is too good for Luke. I mean everyone in the storyline except Casey is a blithering idiot. It's painful and so deeply insulting that TIIC think this is "good storytelling". And we get another Nomeera kiss next week according to preview. Oh goody. It makes the upcoming spoilers seem even more absurd and I didn't that was impossible. I mean Luke suggesting he move in with Ameera and Noah knowing that Ameera is supposedly in love with his boyfriend and his boyfriend just brushing off her feelings for him thinking just telling Luke he is in love with him will be enough?? The hell? I don't understand how Luke is so casual with this. Like Gaytime, my ass would be all over someone trying to steal my man right in front of me. I don't understand how stupid and martyr-like these characters are. How are Luke and Noah calm knowing how Ameera feels? What the hell is wrong with them? Why aren't they being more firm with telling her she has no chance with Noah especially since we know that she is going to keep trying to snare him til she gets what she wants from Noah. It makes no sense. No one would be that calm watching the person you love being macked on by their spouse(!) who has admitted has feelings for your lover (!!). Not even on Ambien would someone be that calm. Ghandi would have pulled out the brass knuckles at this point. Hell, my ass would be in jail if I were Luke in that situation. I can't lie. I react badly to someone trying to steal any guy I am dating. How are we supposed to root for Noah & Luke when they walk themselves into a mire of stupid and insist on staying there? Fuck you, PGP.

Looks like it was as bad as was expected and I don't want to ruin my evening... ;D I'll most likely get around to it late Sunday night and that's only to clear the room off my DVR. Just, ugh. I am glad there is the liveblog to prepare us cause can you imagine going in not knowing the horror that awaits?

I know! The shock would be too much and you'd never want to watch again... I usually read the PBP on the VH.net forum or the LiveBlog on AE; MUCH funnier than the actual episode! (Though even if I wanted to, I couldn't watch live. I can only watch it 'live' on TVU two hours later; that's ten in the evening over here. *Looks at the clock and sees it's on right now; neh, I'll wait till someone puts it on YT. Then I don't have to suffer through an hour of boring stories... *)

Yes, well Noah apparently sleep shirtless in the same bed as Ameera, who at least in legal theory he put a wedding ring on. I really don't think one can possibly send signals more mixed than that.
For that matter if I were Luke (well, if I were Luke this wouldn't be happening in the first place but that's water under the bridge) I would be demanding webcam surveillance of their bedroom.
I'm still waiting for Noah to put up or shut up here. He really isn't showing Luke a lot of love.

okay, i just watched this shit and... was that ATWT or DAWSON'S CREEK? when ameera was begging for 'another take'... uh, cringe-worthy.
the only relief came in form of my new daytime hero casey and the across the square shouting of 'I QUIT YOU, LUKE!' a la Brokeback and the wonderfully delivered line WAKE UP, DUDE!
I WISH LUKE W O U L D WAKE UP. I mean, even at the cost of 'good storytelling', his behavior is just insufferable. NOONE would be like that.

Have to hand it so Ameera. She managed to make her already poor acting distinguishably worse for the "movie".

It's like watching a car go over a cliff and then endlessly tumble. You keep waiting for it to finally hit bottom, but it just never seems to.
I've mostly stopped watching. I'll read the liveblog on aftelton for a laugh. But today I made the mistake of having a look - mostly because I was curious to see how Noah would react to Ameera's kiss.
Hmm, he didn't exactly set her 'straight', did he?
Luke should give it up and find somebody new. But maybe that gunshot did more to his spine than we realize. He sure doesn't seem to have much of a backbone left.
I forget who said it first, but "Please - make it stop!"

I finally saw Friday's episode. What a total mess but it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be even though everyone except Casey needed a good, hard slap cause there was too much stupid going on. At least Luke woke up by the end of the episode but when Casey was trying to convince him that Ameera wants Noah and Luke wasn't hearing it, I ended up yelling at my TV again. How stupid can Luke be? It's one thing to want to believe the best in people. It's quite another to be a doormat. Ameera is SO obvious. Noah was dumb to stand there and try to convince Luke that what Ameera feels for him doesn't matter cause he loves Luke. On one level that's true but when you marry someone within 2 weeks of knowing them without acutally knowing anything about said person and that person also happens to think that she is in love with you, it becomes a new game. I am hoping the wk of April 28th will bring a change to this storyline cause it's sweaty donkey balls so far. I know the writers material, not the scab stuff, kicked in on April 18th. I want to hope that this "Back In Iraq..." storyline dies soon. The sad thing is I wouldn't have been bothered to see Ameera with Casey cause there is a bit of sparkage there, which is faaaaaaaaaaaaar more than the void she has with Noah. And, once again, where is Luke's spine? Seriously.

Okie, I have watched the latest clip. Ameera sure knows how to go from all demure and conservative to the sexy vamp she has unleashed in this episode. What a CULTURE SHOCK. Hahaha. And that kiss between Nuke was nowhere near the standard of the kisses they gave much much earlier. But still I'm glad they kissed. This is the first clip I've watched ever since the frat bash episode. It's been long. About 1-2 months? I'm now interested to see how this 3-way relationship will work when Luke moved in. Ameera you are an outcast in this relationship, take that!!!

The stupid is in the water and everyone's is imbibing. I swear it. For as much as yesterday's lip-lock had me acting like a loon I'm still ready to kill fictional characters today. The fact that Ameera can go from demure Iraqi girl to smoldering temptress is one sign she's definitely acclimated enough to the United States to get Luke *and* Noah to be seriously booting her right out the door. Instead, Noah is all confuzzled and calls Luke and wonders if Ameera doesn't understand. It's almost insulting, because they're treating Ameera like she's five, but that's not right my five year old niece could've caught on by now. From the beginning Ameera knew it was a sham marriage and now Noah is wondering if she doesn't understand and Luke, instead of being pissed or at least standing up and speaking out, decides to play intermediary and laughs off the incident with Ameera. He makes it sound like she didn't do anything wrong, but she did, because no matter where she's from she's been in the US long enough and she's known Luke and Noah long enough to know her actions were not welcome...at all.
I'm glad Luke's moving in, because that puts a kink in Ameera's plan, because we all know she does have a plan. She played them well afterwards as the girl who didn't want to come between Luke and Noah (she so does) and that she was willing to go martyr herself and go back to her horrid existence in Iraq. She played the pity card and they bought it...it was even Luke who insisted she stay...and stay married to Noah.

What I don't get is the way Luke and Noah keep letting her threaten them into pandering to her.
She keeps saying that she wants to go back to Iraq whenever Noah fails to act more husbandly towards her (i.e. pretend he's straight and that their marriage is real). Why are the guys submitting to this kind of emotional blackmail?!
I thought that the whole point of this sham marriage was that Ameera didn't want to be forced back to Iraq! Now she threatens to go of her own accord because she's feeling unloved by her gay husband who made it clear up front that this marriage was for immigration purposes only.
If she's that ungrateful I don't see why they put up with it! Let her carry out her threat and go back to Iraq. That works out just fine, because then they could have that little love nest all to themselves.
I just don't get the motivation behind Luke and Noah putting up with this!
