This was one of the best episodes of the 5th series, but there's also gay uncle Noel (Maguire), I liked that one even more

I don't know about YT, when it comes to UK TV I have other sources. But it was Episode 11. BTW Noel is a twin brother of Paddy Maguire.

I love the series, but I have still not forgiven them for bastardizing Cash's character. :-(

I saw some of the Mickey story from the second episode, a few clips, and just read about some of it.
I don't know how to do spoiler bars here, sorry.
Mickey goes to a writing class and the professor "accidentally" slips one of her porn stories in with his assignment. He compliments her and gives a very detailed sex story of his own. She invites him back to her place and he gets worked up telling her stories as she gets worked up listening. She's about to make a move on him when her husband comes home. They talk privately and decide they want to have sex with Mickey. It's implied that the husband is the one who has sex with him, as he asks Mickey how he feels about having a "fuck buddy", and later the two men are shown in bed together, with the wife sitting in a chair. The episode ends with Mickey wearing a riding hat and his underwear, reading another sex story as the husband is on all fours and the wife is riding him.
When I read about this I thought he must have sex with both of them, but the show seemed to hint otherwise, not only because of what I mentioned above, but also because Mickey looks slightly befuddled when she's making the moves on him before her husband shows up.
In the preview I read for next week's episode, a lady cop chases him and they end up trapped together, and he starts telling a sex story that also gets her off.
It's an interesting idea, a gay man who gets women going by telling them sex stories (I almost wonder if they're trying to parody slash fiction), but I wonder where they're going with this. Are they eventually going to have him with a woman or will this be the whole story? I wouldn't be surprised if he actually sleeps with a woman and she doesn't enjoy it.
Has he slept with women in the past?
I remember an episode where Ian slept with a woman. I don't like stories where gays magically become drawn to the opposite sex (I imagine lesbians must hate this as the story happens over and over with lesbians), but it was much better acted and written than the story would seem on paper.
I like that Ian is a normal looking guy, it's a real breath of fresh air, but Ciaran Griffiths (Mickey) is so gorgeous. He's believable as a hoodlum, but he's just incredibly handsome and sexy. I'm surprised they even let him have clothes on.

Ian will be back later in the season.
And I love Mickey. He's one of my favorites on this show. And I agree the actor is hot.

I'm surprised they even let him have clothes on. I soooo agree - he has that "kinda dumb but rugged & sexy" look going on. Hot! hot! hot! in my book He gets some classicly funny lines of dialogue as well. My fave being the one from last series where he takes offense when someone refers to his cadillac as "pink" "It's not pink - it's Fuschia" - only his inability to interpret letters makes him pronounce it as "Fuus" ""chiia" - ;D scriptwriting at it's sharpest

Mickey is great - the last episode where he told the married guy who was in love with him that wouldn't do it on the side was quite good!

Ian and Sean just breaks my heart every time. I keep wanting them to figure out that Monica actually slept with some other dude who turns out to be Ian's father. Sigh...

Mickey is great - the last episode where he told the married guy who was in love with him that wouldn't do it on the side was quite good! It is the endearing factor about his character - for all he is supposedly a mindless thug with the morals of an alleycat - underneath it all he wants to be loved for himself. I actually found myself cheering when he said no Darco - I just can't re-watch that episode. They were just so perfect together - and even though I had a feeling that was the way the story was gonna turn, I was totally gutted when it actually unfolded

I love the show and I think you really have to love it (and all the characters) to appreciate the madness. Can't wait to see this episode.

I do think the guys are attractive. Not in a cheesy photo, but in motion. Well, Elliott T. doesn't do anything for me, but the Maguire brothers -- yes please. They have the right blend of rough and vulnerable. Mickey is a wonderful character, such a funny, sweet, deeply sensitive man who is terrified of being alone and even more terrified of anyone finding out he's gay. The sister's redheaded boyfriend, who was nice enough to walk around in tight underwear a few episodes back, is also very easy on the eye, as is the babyfaced cop. As for episodes, you can find the first few episodes of season 6 here. www.youtube.com/user/FrankGallagher1982You can find some season 4 episodes here. www.youtube.com/user/rwallis06You can find some of the earlier episodes on the Sundance channel in America (if you live in America). The early episodes are very different, as they focus on characters who are largely gone.

Yes, I know that James McAvoy was in the first and second seasons of the show. I'm going to check if those seasons are available on Nettflix.

Michael Legge (the baby faced cop) was also in Irish gay film Cowboys & Angels.
