I still can't believe they're going to have Aaron and Adam sing "Last Christmas." That's so soapy. I love it. Poor Aaron, that is going to tear out his heart.

I can't blame anyone for wanting to see Adam/Aaron. The show has not specifically said they would get together but the actors do have chemistry and we've gotten to see some very fun and at times tender scenes between them. If the show doesn't go there, then I think it's a missed opportunity, but as long as Aaron's story is still entertaining and he eventually gets a good love interest, then it should be alright. I agree, it would certainly be a missed opportunity after the chemistry between the two of them and what has seemed to be a subtle build-up to something . I think that Aaron's 'journey' will be interesting in its own right however (although not quite as exciting), so I'll still continue to watch. No, not Andy. I've always thought that Nathan had a bit of a gay vibe tbh. I guess Aaron / Nathan could have an 'upstairs/downstairs' element to it, but I can't see myself getting particularly excited over these two. Jeez, we really would be here forever.... Am with you on all the 'dulls' - it's not a pairing I'd be interested in at all . Adam needs someone exciting, as he seems to have more of a calming / stable presence. I can see Adam / Scarlett moving Aaron's sl along - it could certainly make Aaron jealous enough to force him to confront his own feelings - something which he'll be hell-bent on running away from as he embarks on his 'proving I'm straight' phase. As to what a possible Scarlett pairing would actually mean to Adam, well we'd have to see what his motivations would be for getting into it.

No one has come up with the pedophile s/l where the confused Aaron is concerned. Having been rebuffed by Adam he's surely not going to go for someone more challenging, unless that person is gay/bisexual and heads in Aaron's direction.
I see the prospective interest of Aaron being the close to puberty Oscar Lloyd who plays Will Wylde, the young ex public schoolboy son of Natasha and Mark Wylde. It's the one storyline that will cause a sensation and send the audience numbers rocketing

Aaron's my favorite character, but, if they have him trying it on with Will they will completely ruin the character for me. Taking Aaron's confusion over his sexuality and turning him into a pedophile because of it would be terrible. Aaron's storyline is supposed to be something that teenagers his age might be going through or feeling as well. I think that would just cheapen it and also make a point for all the homophobes that if you're gay or you think you are then you're attracted to young boys as well. I think after this whole storyline is done, Aaron is supposed to be able to find some sort of peace with himself....not wind up in jail.

Is this fact, fiction or fantasy So - you think that hundreds of people ( who are currently not watching the show) will start tuning in to watch a storyline where an emotionally volatile, semi delinquent gay teenager makes sexual advances towards a pre-pubescant schoolboy - interesting.......Of course if this were to be the case, then it would most definitely be Danny Miller's exit story. There would be little re-dress for pedaphillic character to exist in the village after such a scandalous event - I think it would also put some other characters in the show ( Paddy, Chastity, the whole Dingle clan) in a precarious position merely by association to such a reviled character ( for he surely would be). It would seem to be such a backward step for the producers to take with this character after they have spent time developing & progressing him. He has gone from being a delinquent, woman beating, vandalising, thieving, drug dealing would be arsonist to someone who now has a job, is going to college, has found some sort of stable home life and a friend / mentor in Paddy. Why progress the character into a more rounded individual if the endgame is to become the most hated character in soap Why put Danny Miller on tv interviews and have him talk about the responsibilty of portraying a str8 acting kid having difficulties with his sexuality - stressing the importance of being sensitive to the issue and using the sexuality card as a means to address some of the "social difficulties" that have defined his character - only to end up having the public hate him anyway " cos actually the fucked-up queer kid is really just a child molester waiting to happen"

Its a bit disgusting though, Aaron & Will In no way was I suggesting a physical sexual relationship between Aaron and Will Wylde, but an interest, as in a soul struggling with his sexuality and attraction to someone of the same sex. That can be a father figure, an attraction to one's own self, one's ideal, or a friend as with Adam. A type of Thomas Mann or Hermann Hesse angle where desire for the forbidden, for that part of Aaron's own persona, unconsciencous self, one's own past growing up in a emotional maze and confusion takes hold. The script writers are searching for new angles, not the usual repetition of other s/l. For those who mentioned Andy Sugden, I can tell you that Danny Miller hangs out a lot with Kelvin Fletcher, appearing at charity fund raisings and playing rugby together. So maybe his original attraction for Victoria was for Andy or Daz, who again may return to the program. Andy's mighty mixed up and his past homophobic reaction may hide deep rooted unexpressed desire towards men.

from Adam Thomas' (Adam) DigitalSpy interview, posted in our spoiler thread: Do you think Adam starts questioning his own sexuality? " No, Adam's straight and he knows what he wants but he's basically taken aback. He can't believe the situation because [Aaron] likes his sister then he comes on to him - What's going on? He's just confused, really." So, as of now, I would say, it's pretty certain Aaron won't be paired up with Adam. So I'm still guessing Andy , and hoping for John or Carl. ;D Although Sheepie has mentioned it could be a returning character.

Given what I've read in all those recent interviews - I think we can be rest assured that Aaron ain't gonna be pairing up with anyone for a long time

Also it's either 'just Aaron' or 'Chribecca' for me, so the choice is simple ... But I will happily read any AA fanfic, should anyone be thinking about putting pen to paper ;D

What I'm curious to find out is what Aaron's going to do while he's struggling with this. Adam said that 'Aaron's not sure if he's gay or not and he's going to be trying things'. I want to know what these things are.
I personally can't wait to see Aaron through this storyline. Danny Miller plays him brilliantly and Aaron, in my opinion, is probably one of the most complexed characters on Emmerdale. It'll be interesting to watch his journey and watch the things that he does and the things that he does to himself along with how his relationships will change with the people around him. I love that GB has said how Aaron fascinates him because you know that means he's really dedicated to the storyline and what happens with him and rounding him out as a character. I think the first half of next year will be brilliant.

Too bad Aaron won't be hooking up with Adam. It could have been sooo good! I mean, he still hasn't had a real gilfriend on the show, so it would have been perfect! ARGH.. Oh well, hope Aaron gets himself a nice boyfriend down the road though, even if it's not Adam. I am still not giving up hope. We all remember that happened to McDean, the writers had no plans to make Craig gay, yet they found a way for him to fall for JP. So, well, all I'm saying is you never know. Maybe if the writers see how much fans want them to be together?

I have to admit, that was my reaction too, because I know that the story would just be so damn good! It would have been lovely for Aaron to get his happy ending after the self-loathing journey that he's now beginning, and the chemistry between these two is just brilliant. But I mustn't lead myself down that path, although I did get really excited when I thought that's what the writers had in store for us. Oh well ... I shall have to continue this story in my head ... Maybe I could send ITV a letter though ... old habits die hard

My apologies for this post.It is a bit of a rant It is a bit of a vent It is a bit of “I need to get this shit outta my head and put it somewhere” At times it is unlikely to make sense and is probably not very fluent in it’s progression.I am sorely disappointed that the hoped for A&A story is not gonna happen though not unduly surprised by it. ED is selling this story by it’s originality – and I can only say really? What’s original about a messed up kid who messes himself up even more by discovering he’s gay – Oh yeah – the originality comes from the fact that he doesn’t look gay. I think the show has kinda shot themselves in the foot here. In order for the str8, semi delinquent, tough guy kid that is Aaron to have a credible believable sexuality struggle storyline - then effectively the guy that stirs those feelings pretty much had to be " the perfect guy" Aaron is someone who would never consider himself to be gay - would never associate with anything remotely gay and run a mile or punch the face of any guy who made a pass at him. His latent feelings could only ever be stirred into consciousness by someone whom he felt totally comfortable with – step up Adam Barton. Okay - if we are to embark on a sorry trail of self-loathing & self-destruction then Mr Perfect has to give him the knock-back – which he has. Where does this leave Aaron now – so far retreated into his closet of denial that nothing less than Mr Perfect is gonna be able to reach in there & pull him back out. However – we’re now being told that Mr Perfect is not available. Yet somehow this sexuality struggle continues. It’s hard not to ask the questions how? and why?For a guy like Aaron there has to be some pull – he has spent his life retreated into his inner shell, pushing everyone away to avoid getting hurt & abandoned. He isn’t the kind of guy who seems prone to self-exploration therefore it’s hard to entertain the notion that now these feelings have been awoken he’s gonna continue pushing his boundaries to see where they take him. If his sexuality struggle is to be compelling ( no matter how brilliant Danny Miller is as an actor) we ( the viewer) have to see the endgame ( it’s how soap stories work – it’s how they hook us in – watching them reach the endgame is what ultimately satisfies our entertainment). While the notion that Adam becomes the confidante – the str8 best-mate – the trigger that pushes Aaron’s buttons down this journey, is compelling enough – how bittersweet is this tale gonna be by the end. Oh – Aaron has finally found his path – Adam has been the saviour – and once again we have another story of boy falls in love with best friend only to be eternally heartbroken – where’s the originality in that? Will we even care by then?As a gay man – I’ve lived the coming out story – it wasn’t easy but it was also pretty dull & boring – there was no endgame – no fairytale – life just went on. Do I want to watch that – possibly Will I get excited and entertained by that – probably not Where’s the hook? Aaron finally comes to terms with the fact that he’s gay and hey-ho we’re back to my first point – A gay teenager having a dalliance with some other previously hetero character - or worse – no dalliance with anyone that we care about. Will Aaron get paired up with anyone? And what kinda story is that gonna be? Oh let me guess another hetero cast member with a string of female conquests / skirt chasing / litters of children everywhere is " suddenly" gonna discover he likes them with a bit more muscle - nothing new & original there then ED have done that story 3 times alreadyWhat about Andy - well, he's got mental health problems so maybe he forgets himself and starts to fancy Aaron - Oh, wait a minute, they've actually done that story too, with Zoe Tait ( she even got a child out of it) John Barton - how very "Mulligans" - they've just brought a new "nuclear" family into the show, and in less than a year they're gonna blow it to smithereens by giving the dad a gay fling. Will they bring in a new character? - then you have to ask the question "Why bother" - they already had that new character in Adam. For me the premise of Aaron & Adam was shaping up to be one the most original gay soap stories yet to be told. Two young teenage guys finding their identity, their sexuality, their first love – and finding it through finding each other. No previous meaningful hetero girl history to be explained away by some incredible work of the scriptwriters pen.Aaron – an emotionally volatile, undisciplined, immature, angry closed book of a kid. Abandoned, rejected, rebellious and angry – his whole life is about being constantly challenged with his feelings, his emotions and his love. Discovering his sexuality will explode his soul and send him down a self-loathing destructive path of devastation. Adam – a stable, dependable, caring nuclear family kid who eats dinner at the table and sings karaoke at Xmas. Strong, self motivated, with a sense of purpose and a loving family, a kid whose never been remotely challenged in his emotions or his acceptance that he is his father’s son. Discovering his sexuality would explode every inner thought, belief and expectation that his nuclear family upbringing had taught him to accept. Worlds apart – yet intrinsically together – the story of how these two young guys come together screaming & fighting every step of the way, challenging themselves, challenging each other and challenging every stereotypical hypocritical soap-rot nonsense that has ever been written. Now that is original. That is a story I would want to watch. This is probably the biggest missed opportunity in UK gay soap storytelling

Sadly i agree with u, sheepiefarm A & A had so many potential and know everything is ruined. Aaron will have the typical storyline where he starts dating a girl (Holly) in order to prove his manhood and later finally accepts who he is and possibly nothing more. I really was expecting more from this storyline since it started out very promising, and I don't think there could be another guy who can replace Adam as Aaron's "'possible" boyfriend. They have excellent chemistry which makes me mad that A & A won't be happening. P.S. - In my opinion btw, I would not like for A & A to happen if Aaron sleeps with Holly. I don't know how to explain, but it wouldn't be right.

Is it possible ED would meet quietly with Adam Thomas and tell him the end plan is for him to wind up with Aaron, but if the press, cast members, crew or anyone asks, as far as he knows he is straight? If I was ED, that's what I would do. I would want to keep it a secret as much as possible up until the dramatic reveal. Why let the cat out of the bag 6 months in advance or whatever?
