I wonder what does John Partridge mean by, things aren't as they seem. Based on his tease, it doesn't seem like the surrogate issue is the main or juiciest part of his and Syed's upcoming storyline.

It seems like before he leaves, Christian gives Roxy a sperm sample, and before Syed and Christian can tell her that they want to wait to have a baby, she implants herself with the sperm."

The most disappointing part for me is the reason why Syed changes his mind about having a baby. I thought that Tamwar would make him see that Christian wanting a baby is his way of showing that he wants him and Syed to be a family, which would be sweet, but instead, Tamwar is going to call the idea stupid, and brings up the fact that the news would upset their parents. So, Syed only changes his mind in order to spite his mother and father.

Christian's going to try to sleep with Roxy? I thought Christian was GAY, not bi, or flexible, or some such nonsense. Am I missing something, or is this completely ridiculous?

Also sensational and lurid and tasteless and... I could go on. I think that we can give up any hope that this storyline is going to deal with the substance of Christian and Syed's relationship. If this is any indication (and it is the most concrete information that we have so far), the storyline is going to be all about the shock value.

Perhaps not intentionally, but I wonder what the outcome will be. My sense of things is that Bryan Kirkwood fancies himself a boundary-pusher. The problem is that he lacks judgement about what constitutes "too far"--as the backlash over the baby swapping storyline has amply demonstrated.

Oh, God - no kidding. Well, this may be my cue to stop watching this particular couple. I was never terribly interested in them, but with the extreme lack of screen time lately, and any substantive development of Syed, Christian, or their relationship, it's just become too boring and ridiculous.

I think if Christian and Syed want to try and have a baby, that is great. However, it would have been nice to see a little more interaction between them since the big revelation. You know, settling into their relationship, getting into the swing of acutally being an out couple. Maybe a little more with Syed and his whole whatever, then going into having a baby. I feel like this thing was just kind of hoisted onto us. Like I said, I think it's great they want to be parents. I also think it's great when shows portray gay and lesbian couples in solid relationships with children. Goes a long way in the scheme of things. But to form said child with a sexual enounter between Christian and Roxy is a very BAD idea. The straight girl in love with gay guy story has been done before, and she's a little over the top anyway, lol. Just my opinion, it will be intersting to see where this goes

It's not surprising that when Roxy and Christian decide to make this baby, and almost have sex, they are drunk, since it seems that's all those two do when they are together. But the fact that the decision is so impulsive, which is how John Partridge described it, doesn't give me a lot of hope that this storyline will have too much depth, or even be about Christian and Syed. SoapLife spoiled that Roxy is going to get a new boyfriend, so I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes a predictable and overused "who's the daddy" storyline, where the new guy is actually the real father.

These spoilers are horrible...Christian and Roxy almost have sex?!?!?! and Christian stops because Syed rang and he leaves a sperm sample ...WHAT?!?!...I thought Christian was GAY and not Bi...Did I miss something?...and why would Christian even consider having sex with Roxy (even for a baby) after everything that he and Syed been through.

@ Caitlinp thanks for the spoiler...and oh lord on the possible whose the daddy story line...I would rather they bring back Amira than have this nonsense play out.

Some people have complained that we will see Christian in the type of intimate scene with Roxy that we haven't seen him in with Syed, but based on how pregnant the actress who's playing Roxy appeared to be in yesterday's episode, I'm not sure that they could show a lot of the "almost sex." At the very least, her appearance is going to keep the scene from looking like it is about the sex or that the two of them are making love.

From the second part of John Partridge's interview:

I just want to let them know that for all of the frustrations they may or may not feel about our story, about screen time or anything - the pay-off will be worth the wait this year, so hang in there and get your hankies ready!"

Now, I'm very interested in what will happen. I'm glad that this story will involve Syed's family, because it makes no sense for them to live on the same street, but not interact. Kirkwood has a habit of just focusing on a storyline's conclusion, instead of letting a story have multiple tiny peaks and twists before it reaches the ultimate climax, so I hope this actually has all of the twists that John mentions.

I'm also happy that this won't be a tired "who's the daddy storyline".

Several sites are reporting that Ronnie will be shocked and realize that Roxy wants to have a child with Christian, without having Syed in the picture. Ignoring the fact that Ronnie doesn't have the right to be shocked or appalled by anyone, I hope this storyline won't be about Roxy being attracted to Christian. Inside Soap touched a little bit on this, and mentioned how it cheapens Roxy and Christian's relationship by saying that she sees him as being more than her best friend.

I actually don't have any objection to a storyline where Roxy falls in love with Christian. As dalphine says, that kind of thing does happen, and I think that it would make a certain amount of sense, especially given where Roxy is at in her life right now. And I don't really get the argument that it would "cheapen" their relationship--well, unless it involves Roxy actually setting out to seduce Christian away from Syed, which would be cheap (not to mention ludicrous). But if it's more a matter of Roxy having to deal with her feelings, I don't have a problem with that. Emotions can be untidy and inappropriate, and that doesn't necessarily result in any cheapening of a relationship--sometimes the reverse, in fact.

The spoilers for tomorrow aren't consistent with reports about Roxy and Christian almost having sex. They state that Roxy suggests sex, which makes Christian laugh, and then she covers by making out as though the suggestion were a joke. That seems more in character, I have to say.

I am henceforth going to be treating spoilers about this storyline with more scepticism--especially since they've proven to be more sensational than on-screen developments of late. (I'm also thinking of the business about Christian "cheating.") And it's worth keeping in mind John's warning that things are not going to be quite as they have been reported--that the surrogacy is not the primary issue and that there will be very unexpected developments.

The spoiler from the John Partridge interview didn't say that they have sex, it said that they start to, but then Syed calls. I thought that report was odd, because if that happens, then how and when does Christian give Roxy the sample that she uses to inseminate herself.

The original rumor that came out before the surrogacy angle was confirmed, said that Roxy would want to have sex, but that she says that she was only joking, after Christian starts laughing.

Nevertheless, Christian heads over to visit Roxy, who surprises him by having no recollection of her offer to be a surrogate. However, Roxy then awkwardly tells Christian that she does remember after all.

Am I the only one who thought "WTF?" at this spoiler? It just sounds so bizarre.
