Monday, April 25:
"Yusef witnesses Masood handing Phil some money. Wanting to stir things, he mentions it to Denise who then tells Zainab. Zainab angrily confronts Masood who admits that he has been gambling for Phil. Later, Zainab corners Yusef and has a go at him for talking to Denise but she's shocked when he turns the tables on her. Yusef brands Zainab a hypocrite for turning her back on Syed after she too brought shame on her family.
Later, Zainab stalks Syed's flat and waits for Christian to leave. Once the coast is clear, Zainab calls at the flat and Syed is surprised to find her on his doorstep. They begin to talk and although Zainab longs to open up to Syed, she suddenly realises that she shouldn't be there and hurries out. Later, Zainab makes a phone call. She is emotional as she tells the person on the other end of the line that she never stopped loving them. Who is Zainab talking to?"
Tuesday, April 26:
"Zainab makes a phone call and arranges to meet the person she is talking to, however she is unaware that Masood is listening. A suspicious Masood follows Zainab and is angry to find her with Yusef. He tells Zainab that he can't trust her and she storms off. Masood later tries to find Zainab and eventually locates her in a café. When Syed turns up, Masood realises that it was actually him who Zainab had planned to meet. Masood begins to argue with Zainab but Syed tells her not to listen and they both leave.
Later, Zainab talks to Yusef about his offer of a loan. They speak to Masood about it but it's not long before an argument breaks out and Yusef leaves. Zainab follows Yusef and tells him that she wants the loan in a bid to save her family."
Thursday, April 28:
"Masood is in the kitchen when he hears Zainab's phone ringing. Seeing the caller is Syed, he rejects the call. As he puts the phone back, he finds a cheque from Yusef in Zainab's bag. Masood confronts Zainab and promises to find the money they need. Later, Zainab tells Syed that she tried to call him back but there was no reply. She stresses to Syed that it's important they don't rush their relationship, especially as she has other things to worry about. Syed offers to help but Zainab tells him not to worry.
In the shop, Jane encourages Masood to buy a scratch card. After winning £50 on the card, Masood tries to convince Jane to place a bet for him. At the bookies Jane's lucky streak continues and the pair are ecstatic when they win £8,000. Masood informs Zainab that he has the money they need. Later, Masood calls Jane and tries to persuade her to place another bet. Jane isn't keen on the idea and hangs up on Masood. Temptation gets the better of Masood and he decides to place the bet himself. Later, Masood returns home to face an excited Zainab. He can barely look her in the eye, knowing that he has just lost all of the money.
Christian tells Syed he is worried that Zainab will hurt him again but Syed is defiant that things will work out."

Monday, May 2:
Whoa, the "Let's have a kid!" theme is back!
"It's Jane's 40th birthday but her day doesn't get off to the best of starts. In the café Jane moans to Christian that Ian didn't even buy her a card. Later, Christian invites Syed to the Vic to celebrate Jane's birthday but Syed tells him he is busy. Realising that Syed's plans involve Zainab, Christian tells him to sort it out. Later, Jane arrives at the Vic for her birthday drinks. Seeing Martin at the bar, Christian and Syed encourage Jane to go over to him. Before Jane can decide what to do, Martin approaches. As the evening progresses Martin and Jane enjoy each other's company. Later, Jane invites Martin back to her place. As they make their way indoors, they kiss passionately, but soon find themselves confronted by Ian and Bobby.
Meanwhile, Masood confides in Jane that he thinks Zainab may still have feelings for Yusef. Jane encourages Masood to make a romantic gesture to impress Zainab. Zainab later receives a message from Masood, asking her to meet him at their restaurant. When she arrives she's touched to find the rubble covered in fairy lights. Masood admits that he overheard Zainab and Yusef talking. Zainab asks if he heard the part where she told Yusef that she loved Masood. They resolve to stay united before heading to the Vic. Seeing his parents, Syed approaches them. Syed tells them that as they are now on speaking terms there's something they have to accept, Christian. Both Zainab and Masood are adamant that is not going to happen. Fed up, Syed sits with Christian. Christian can see that Syed misses having a family around him and suggests they could look into their adoption idea.
Elsewhere, Roxy confides in Christian after discovering that Ronnie has sacked her solicitor."
Tuesday, May 3:
Christian only:
"Jane apologises to Ian for upsetting Bobby but not for what happened with Martin. She tells Ian that eventually he will move on and when he does she will be happy for him. Soon Ian is calling round a list of 'old flames' to see if he can arrange a date of his own but he doesn't have much success. Later Ian meets a woman called Jeanette in the Vic and orders champagne but he's disappointed when he learns that Jane isn't due in to work.
Christian tells Jane that they need to talk about Martin. Jane reminisces on what she wanted out of life, but explains her children come first. Martin arrives to see Jane and she tells him they need to finish things. Later, Jane finds Ian at the Vic and asks if they can keep their divorce amicable. When Jeanette walks over, Ian dismisses Jane and now thinks he has won the battle."

Monday, May 9:
"Kim lets slip to Masood that Yusef and Denise aren't sleeping together. She suggests that maybe Yusef is with the wrong woman. Later, Zainab returns home following a day of bickering with Denise and complains to Masood. She says she is fed up of hearing about Yusef and that Denise isn't right for him. Zainab's words strike a chord with Masood. Elsewhere, Alfie and Christian are fed up of Ian and Jane point scoring with each other and decide to do something about it."

Tuesday, May 17:
"It's the day of Ian and Jane's divorce hearing and Phil has arranged for his lawyer Jimmie to represent Jane. Later at the court, Jane's shocked when Jimmie tells her that Ian has been running his businesses at a loss and has no money. Jane confronts Ian but he insists he's telling the truth. Jimmie then updates Phil on their disappointing progress leaving Phil determined to get one over on Ian. Shortly afterwards, Jimmie receives a picture message from Phil which he shows to Jane. Jane confronts Ian and shows him the message which reveals a stash of money hidden in their house. Ian realises he's been rumbled, as Jane demands he signs the café over to her.
Later, Ian's smarting in the Vic following his bad day in court, while Jane is also at the pub with Tanya. Soon, Zainab and Masood arrive, they're in a jovial mood as they've just offered to sign the Argee Bhajee over to Tamwar and Afia - a gesture which has thrilled the young couple but left Yusef unimpressed. However, Yusef regains the upper hand as he goads Ian about Masood. Eventually, Ian snaps and tells Zainab that Jane is a cheat - just like Masood..."
Thursday, May 19:
"Jane is packing her things when Ian arrives home with Bobby. Jane has decided that the best thing for her to do is to leave Bobby with Ian and move out. Ian pleads with Jane to change her mind but it's no good. Later, Bobby hands Jane a bunny and Jane promises to look after the bunny if he looks after Daddy. Ian's heartbroken as he watches Jane leave.
Elsewhere, Masood denies cheating, but will Zainab believe him?"
Friday, May 20:
"Christian and Syed are preparing for their meeting with the social worker to discuss the adoption process. Soon, Tanya arrives at the flat to inform them about Jane leaving. Christian is devastated that his sister has left and heads over to Ian's to confront him. Later, Syed suggests to Christian that they keep quiet about Jane leaving and her adoption of Bobby. Christian is offended by this and tells Syed that if anyone needs to keep quiet about their family it's him. An argument breaks out just as the social worker arrives. Later, the meeting appears to have gone well but the social worker informs Christian and Syed that she will need to look into their family background. When she leaves, Syed feels despondent and tells Christian they should abandon the idea but Christian remains optimistic."

Friday May 27th. (Possibly the proposal day)
Syed tries to support Zainab as she hits rock bottom on EastEnders later this month, but his efforts lead to tension with Christian.
With Zainab and Masood's marriage continuing to crumble, they try to pretend to Tamwar that everything is okay, but there's no fooling Syed, and when he pays a visit to his mother at the Minute Mart, he suggests that she and Masood should try to get some relationship help.
When Zainab dismisses Syed's suggestion, he's forced to snap at her and she's soon sobbing away as her inner turmoil is too much to bear. For a moment, the pair come together, but Zainab eventually pushes Syed away and insists that she's fine.
Christian is watching and interrupts them as he thinks that Zainab is being unfair to Syed, but he then receives a rejection of his own as Syed tells him to stay out of it.
A Walford insider revealed: "Zainab is struggling to keep it together when she knows that her marriage is in crisis, and when Syed arrives at the Minute Mart trying to help, she breaks down.
"Not wanting to show how broken she is, she quickly composes herself and insists she is fine. Syed knows that she is a proud woman and doesn't want to let her guard down. However, Christian thinks this is just another example of Zainab taking advantage of Syed - but he is shocked when Syed tells him to keep his nose out."

Friday 27 May
Zainab is struggling to keep things together as her marriage collapses. When Syed suggests she and Masood get some help, Zainab snaps then starts to cry. Syed comforts his mother, but their closeness doesn’t last long.
Christian is worried about his relationship, but Syed assures him it’s never been stronger. Syed is stunned when Christian suddenly proposes!
Monday 30 May
Syed can’t think about Christian’s proposal when Tamwar tells him that Zainab has thrown Masood out of the house. Later, Syed tells Christian he has changed his mind – he accepts the proposal!
Phil tells Shirley that he has applied for a job in Dubai. He’s angry when he learns he hasn’t got the job because Yusef didn’t give him a clean bill of health.
Tuesday 31 May
Christian tells Masood about the adoption plans, and Masood angrily confronts Zainab. Yusef tries to tries to cause more trouble and Masood decides to deal with him, and follows him to the garage.
Yusef is relieved when Phil arrives, but he’s worried when Phil tells Masood to hit him. Masood loses his temper with Yusef, but Phil decides to do things his way…
Thursday 2 June
Masood and Phil take Yusef to a rundown warehouse. They tie him to a chair and Masood threatens Yusef with a fake can of petrol. Will Masood be able to carry out the plan?

Tuesday, May 31:
Christian and Syed debate whether or not they should tell Zainab about their plans to adopt. They are joined by Tamwar, who agrees with Syed that now isn't the right time to tell Zainab. Later, Christian sees Masood in the café and tells him that he and Syed want to start a family. Outside the Masood's house, Zainab is talking to Yusef when Masood approaches them. Masood angrily confronts Zainab about Christian and Syed's adoption plans. As Masood heads off, Zainab becomes annoyed with Yusef when he suggests that Masood may have been lying in an attempt to cause trouble.
At the Argee Bhajee, Afia and Tamwar see Syed and Christian and Christian apologises for telling Masood. Their discussion about adoption leads to Tamwar questioning Afia on whether she wants children. Zainab sees them and starts shouting at Syed and Christian. Later on Masood confronts Yusef and when Phil gets involved things start to turn sinister for the doctor...

Phil and Masood pull up at a rundown warehouse in Yusef's car. As they escort Yusef out of the car, he makes a run for it but they soon have him cornered. Masood begins to taunt Yusef with the fake can of petrol he puts in front of him. Yusef claims that nothing happened between him and Zainab but Masood refuses to believe him. Masood then questions Yusef about the fire in Pakistan and Yusef argues that he tried to save Zainab from it. Masood continues to goad him until Yusef finally cracks and reveals that he resents Masood for taking Zainab away from him. As Yusef hangs his head and sobs, what will Masood's next move be? Elsewhere, Tamwar tells Christian and Syed that he will vouch for them in their adoption process.
Thursday, June 9:
Syed is in the salon when Christian and Roxy enter. Roxy congratulates them on their engagement and Syed is annoyed that the secret is out. Roxy then lets slip that she knows Syed is back on speaking terms with Zainab which further riles Syed. Later, Syed is at the war memorial when Roxy joins him. They chat and Roxy says if he wants Christian he can't keep holding back. Syed returns home where Christian apologises for confiding in Roxy. The tension between them is resolved but Syed still seems troubled.

Syed shares his worries with Tanya about his plans for Christian's birthday to go to a gay bar with Christian and Roxy. At the bar, they run into some of Christian's old friends and after a nervous start, Syed soon relaxes. Roxy's attempts to reassure Christian that Syed is fine backfire when Christian becomes convinced Syed is flirting with other men. Losing his temper, he storms out with Roxy leaving behind a confused Syed.
Tamwar worries about his Mehndi dance.
Friday, June 17:
Tamwar and the boys spy on Afia’s dance routine which her ‘secret weapon’, Christian, is choreographing. Tamwar is later distraught when Afia insists she does not want Masood at their wedding and Yusef continues to manipulate Zainab. Is his plan working?
Meanwhile, Christian and Syed argue about the night before as Syed insists he did nothing wrong. Eventually, Christian admits his fears - that he's not enough for Syed. Syed reassures him that he's all he wants and they make up.

Detailed spoilers for next week. Lots of Christian and Syed!  Monday, June 20:Zainab is putting together the seating plan for the wedding when Tamwar questions where his father will be sitting. Zainab agrees that Masood should be there, if only to stop people asking questions. In the café Yusef sees Syed and Christian and invites them to the wedding but Syed refuses to attend if it means hiding his sexuality. After hearing of his brother's refusal, Tamwar visits Syed to talk things over but Syed's mind is made up. After speaking to her manipulative father, Afia tells Tamwar she doesn't want Masood at the wedding as she is scared of him. Shocked by Afia's distress, Tamwar visits Masood at the B&B and asks him not to come. Meanwhile, Zainab personally invites Syed and Christian to the wedding, after Yusef tells her some home truths. Tuesday, June 21:It's the day of the Mehndi and Tamwar is feeling upset about the situation with Masood. Outside, Zainab sees Masood and warns him to stay away as he is supposed to be in Pakistan. At the B&B Shameem (Afia's aunt) disapproves of Denise and Yusef's relationship and is further annoyed when she learns that Afia and Tamwar will procession together, against normal tradition. The processions are about to start when Christian appears wearing traditional dress. Syed is relieved to see him, but backs away when Christian leans in for a kiss. As the processions progress around the Square, Yusef puts his arm around Tamwar and seeing this from a distance, Masood is furious. Later, Ian winds Masood up in the Vic. Masood finally snaps and resolves to stop the wedding. At the Mehndi, Yusef talks to Zainab about their past relationship and reveals that he still has feelings for her. Suddenly a furious Masood bursts in and tells Tamwar that he forbids him to marry Afia. The row escalates, forcing Tamwar to reveal the truth that he and Afia are already married. Thursday, June 23:Masood, Zainab and Yusef are all reeling from Tamwar's confession. As they argue, Syed defends his brother and reveals he knew about the marriage. Afia runs off to the bathroom where Mercy, Lauren and Jodie give her moral support. Tamwar then confesses all to the assembled guests, despite Yusef's efforts to stop him. Desperate to upstage Masood, Yusef then publically announces his consent and pleasure at the secret marriage. Later, Yusef reveals he wants to be with Zainab as the two of them share a moment outside, unaware that Yusef's sister-in-law Shameem is watching. Fuming, Shameem returns to the celebrations and announces to the room that Zainab and Yusef have been having an affair. Masood punches Yusef while Zainab denies everything and flees. At the Masoods', Yusef reassures Zainab that he will sort everything out. Meanwhile, Masood, Christian, Syed, Tamwar and Afia are gathered at Max's house, discussing the day's events. Darren and Jodie offer Tamwar and Afia their room for the night. Elsewhere, Denise is distraught at the news of the 'affair'; Syed snaps at Christian for not understanding their culture when Christian tries to comfort Tamwar; Yusef's cousin Tariq arrives in the Square. Friday, June 24:Zainab wakes up feeling awful from the sleeping pills. She panics when she realises Yusef slept in her house last night and tells him to leave. Syed calls round to offer concern but Zainab isn't interested. She goes to the B&B to pick up Kamil where she apologises to Masood and invites him to a family meal. Zainab invites Tamwar and Afia as well, but they refuse to tell her whether they will attend. Later, Yusef turns up at the Masoods' house to speak to Zainab and she quickly bundles him out the back door when the rest of the family arrive. The family meal gets underway but conversation is awkward. Meanwhile, Denise heads to the Masoods' in the morning to confront Zainab and is shocked to see Yusef leaving. He follows Denise into the cafe where a heated conversation ensues. Denise realises Yusef was never serious about her. Yusef later speaks to Afia at Max's house and reveals he is planning to leave Walford. |

Tuesday, July 12:
Dot, Jean and Zainab are shocked to discover the square gardens have been ruined and Arthur's bench stolen - by Christian and Roxy. The hung-over pair return the bench and are reprimanded by Zainab, while Syed is furious with Christian. Later, Syed is unimpressed with Christian's behavior in front of Amy when he has a go at a group of teenagers who are mocking them.
Thursday, July 14:
Christian is determined to make everything perfect for the social worker's visit. Using Syed's phone, Christian lures Zainab to the flat under the pretence of Syed being ill. When Zainab realises what he has done, she tries to leave but Christian stands in her way. They each throw hurtful remarks at each other until eventually Christian gets through to Zainab when he says she should let Syed be his own person. Later, Yusef offers Christian money for the deposit on a new flat. Back at the flat Christian proudly tells Syed that he has sorted everything but to his astonishment, Syed says that he doesn't want to adopt.
Friday, July 15:
Syed wakes up on the sofa at the Masood's. Zainab is pleased to have Syed home and arranges a special dinner to celebrate. After talking to Christian, Roxy confronts Syed in the cafe but he tells her to stay out of it. Later, Syed visits Christian and is torn when Christian says he shouldn't have to give up on his dream just to stay in a relationship. Syed leaves, devastated. After doing some thinking he later returns to Christian and says that he wants to adopt after all. At the Masoods' Zainab is waiting for Syed but he doesn't arrive. She finally accepts that he isn't coming and after taking two sleeping pills, she heads to bed.
Elsewhere, a newly wealthy Janine discusses business opportunities with Syed.

EASTENDERS TO ADD 3RD REGULAR GAY CHARACTER.  gaydaytime.blogspot.com/2011/07/eastenders-to-add-3rd-regular-gay.htmlDigitalSpy reports this morning that an upcoming storyline on the BBC's EASTENDERS will see Ben Mitchell, played by Joshua Pascoe, come out as gay and join Christian and Syed and the third regular gay character on the soap. According to a source close to the production, "poor Ben is terrified of Phil's reaction but the truth will come out, sooner or later."

Monday, August 1:
Zainab invites all of the family around for Iftar, including Masood and Yusef. Syed decides he needs to tell his parents about his engagement to Christian before they hear it elsewhere. The atmosphere is tense at the Masoods' house once the family all arrive. An anxious Zainab begins to make a speech when Syed suddenly announces his engagement. There is an awkward moment and Zainab doesn't acknowledge the news, saying she feels unwell. Yusef leads her away, much to Masood's annoyance.
