I'm really enjoying Ballum storyline! Sure writing isn't the best and sometimes there are things that bugs me but I don't know, I just love how it makes me feel. It's fun and refreshing and acting is good, I can see how passionate they are. I think they're the best gay couple in soaps right now and they're in my top 3 (with Robron and Wilson). At first I was watching ee for Paul, Jay, Ben and Callum but then I started to love other characters too; Lola, Lexi, Bobby, Kathy, Iqra, Ash, Chantelle, Whitney, Bernie, Karen, Mick, Shirley, Pam

unpopular opinion but EE doing another dull couple eh.... so much potential in this pair but of course they prefer "good" gay couple, I doubt that now they will get more screen time as a couple.
and Callum getting off my nerves, he is so annoying with his new "morality" compass
I thought we'd get "new" Stendan instead they doing Robron2.... so boring

Selling a domestic abuse storyline as an epic love story is simply ridiculous |

The point of Callum becoming a cop is to create a conflict with Ben's criminal life. |

It's curious. This couple seems to be very popular but not here I think part of that is because there were some people on here who were (and till are)fans of the criminally dysfunctional Stendan. I guess for some people getting the crap kicked out of you equals epic love. And that being a victim of abuse excuses being an abuser (although it hasn't been an excuse for Ste by those who don't like the character outside of his relationship to his abuser) I formed my opinion based on how many times other couples including Ben and Callum have in some way or another been compared to Stendan over the years. What is unfortunate in all of this is that these same people would be (and have been) up in arms if this were a male female couple where the woman was getting continually beaten. Not one of them would be sitting up here saying how that is epic love. Nor would they want to transfer that kind of violent dysfunction on to another couple. It also amazes me that these are some of the same people who keep asking for equal treatment when it comes to LGBTQ+ couples and yet get upset by the oldest troupe in soaps being applied to an LGBTQ+ couple. |

I'm a fan! I'm also loving this new deaf storyline they've started. I know Ben has been deaf in one ear, but for the most part (at least since the most recent recast) it hasn't really played a role in the show. I love how they're using the sound on the show to illustrate to the audience what Ben hears. And I've heard they hired a real deaf actress to play a part in the storyline, which is super important for accurate representation.
Also, I'm expecting Callum to be fine, so I'm not worried in the least bit about him.

I really enjoy Ben and Callum a lot (and actually Eastenders as a whole). It's been a long time since I've enjoyed a soap gay couple this much. Sadly, this message board in general isn't as active as it used to be. The couple is very popular on twitter and the Digital Spy message boards (I don't post there, but I do lurk every once in a while).
I'm glad the Keanu stuff finally came to an end. I wasn't super pleased about the whole "Ben orders a hit on Keanu" plot. I think the deaf story line has potential and is already starting out well. I'd 100% rather have human stories like that than Gangster!Ben. While I'm sure Callum will be heavily involved in Ben's story, I also hope Callum gets a story of his own too. It was already hinted a couple times before that Callum might have PTSD from his army days. This kidnapping plot would be a good opportunity to revisit it.

One such method includes putting a plastic screen between two actors during a kissing scene which can be digitally removed during the editing process.

I love how bossy Lexi was planning everything to make sure the engagement went through. I really do think she's gonna battle it out with Jay for Best Man at the wedding.
