Premieres July 9th, will have a gay storyline. Don't expect too much though. This is a Mexican telenovela. Google translate: Emilio Osorio, son of Niurka and producer Juan Osorio, will play a young man who lives a gay relationship in the telenovela 'My husband has more family'. The producer declared: "When my writers told me about it, at first I had a hard time understanding why this character. The funny thing is that this character will fall in love with my son Emilio. I thought about it and he said there was no problem. " Osorio, however, assures that the subject will be treated with great respect and that explicit scenes will not be seen: "It is a complicated subject to deal with the romance of a 15-year-old boy with another of the same sex. I do not intend to put explicit scenes, it will be more a platonic love ". Anyways, here is a trailer:

I fear the producer dad is a Kim Zimmer type (mother of Jake Weary, who used to play Luke Snyder on ATWT until she got wind of his coming-out plot and pulled him from the show - he has gone on to play a gay role on Animal Kingdom that is way, WAY more explicit than anything ATWT would've shown, which suggests he himself had no issues, but it was his parent who projected them onto him). I mean, what does the dad mean by platonic love - I'm not expecting sex scenes but the word 'platonic' suggests they won't even kiss onscreen (like the North American remake of Fisica o Quimica, Relaciones Peligrosas, a few years ago). Maybe they'll hold hands at the end of the show. Bullshit about the character being 15 restricting it - I'm sure that before he decides to come out, he'll be rolling around in bed half-naked with a beard girlfriend and that'll be shown in intimate detail onscreen. Doesn't sound promising at all I'm afraid.

I'll be watching this only out of curiosity (and cause I enjoy seeing latin LGBT representation, even if lackluster), but I have zero expectations about it LOL

Some major development in the last couple of episodes. Temo told Ari that he loved him only for Ari to turn him down. But then in the next episode Ari texted him, so maybe there's a chance after all.

I've been glancing through the episodes. No sign that Ari is gay though, whereas Temo is love-struck from their very first meeting.
I'm grateful to the English subber because it'll help us Anglophones follow the story, but an episode every Monday is going to take the better part of a year to catch up to where the story is now (part 39 I think?)

Okay, this is beyond adorable. It's glaring that there isn't a kiss (come on, the actors are young but not THAT young; both over 16 I believe) but still it's a level of LGBT acceptance that I don't think is ever seen on Mexican telenovelas. The shout-out to the fans (Aristemo) was hella cute. Emilio Osorio needs the props for convincing his dad to let him play the role of Aris.

Still wish there is english subtitles. There are a few channels that does it, but drops it pretty quickly This one just started, they have 2 parts up so far. Hope they get further along. Also, this is the song which Ari fetes Temo with, which really is sung by Ari - Emilio Osorio himself (who is also a dancer). I quite like it although I only understand every other word.

Part 3:
I kind of love how melodramatic they are (Temo and his dad). And it's adorable how Ari is oblivious to Temo's feelings for him. I'd be really interested in the translation/subtitling of the scenes where Ari realizes that he reciprocates those feelings.

I love how close the two boys are. You can really tell they have a great friendship. It is a bit surprising how quickly they bonded though

Part 4:
They're really cute together. Perhaps they've bonded so easily because they don't have any other friends/siblings around the same age - which was surprising in Ari's case, considering he should be one of the cool kids at school if he looks like that, can sing and has a Youtube following of 50,000. Temo, understandably, has moved towns, but even he has a staunch friend in Diego.
Unfortunately, (highlight to read spoilers for the latest episodes) it looks like the new girl is going to capture Ari's attention. I guess he's supposed to be bi, unlike Temo who's unequivocally gay, but I still hate it there has to be a female thrown into the mix. And who wants to bet they'll kiss while Aris and Temo don't?

Considering where this show is broadcast, your assumption is probably correct. Baby steps, I guess...
I am just glad that someone is finally consistently subbing the show, since everyone else seems to stop after the first episode.

Considering where this show is broadcast, your assumption is probably correct. Baby steps, I guess... As feared - she's already kissing him this week, and she only debuted like 2 weeks ago. Temo's been on since the start of the season, in love with Aris for nearly that long, taken months to get together - and they don't even get to kiss. I wouldn't have minded them restricting kissing of any gender for Aris on the basis of his age, but this really drives home the homophobia.
