So, Marco has left Degrassi, but there's apparently going to be a new gay guy on the show! His name is: Riley

Thanks for the clip messyne.
I hope it's not going another angst-driven coming out story... We went through the whole thing with Marco, and it was absolutely fantastic... I'd hate to start comparing the two stories. I grew up with Degrassi... that show was so ahead of its time... plus the fact that they actually had kids playing kids... nothing like 90210.

I totally agree! And yes, Marco's coming out story was truly great! One of the best ones I've seen.. Sincere, genuine, real. It was soo good! And the actor playing him came out in January this year too, which was great! Too bad most of the old original characters are gone.. Well, we still have some left, and I do actually think Degrassi looks better this year than the last two seasons, those were bad.. Seasons 1-5 were great, 6 and 7 not so much, but season 8 looks better.. Like I said, many of the old characters are gone, but the new characters looks interesting! |

At the beginning of the season, I was a bit skeptical about the new characters. They are growing on me now, and this season is looking pretty good, especially the Riley story line. I actually found the entire episode 5 online and chopped together the Riley and Peter bits. The quality of the original is not very good, but it is still very watchable.  Do you think this will be another case where a gay character joins the cast and one of the previously straight characters will discover some new part himself (e.g. John Paul/Craig and Oliver/Christian) or will this story line just be about Riley coming out and Peter be the motivating factor? It was cool how they came to a silent agreement by the end of the episode..... but Peter was definatley contemplating...... Riley vaguely reminds me of Marlon Kittel from Freunde (The Whiz Kids, and Sommersturm) |

When is the next epsiode? Based on the previews and the show's website, they are not in the next episode. I guess we will have to wait and see when they are on next. Hopefully soon! The show comes on Sunday nights on CTV in Canada and Friday nights on The N in the US. You can also watch full episodes at degrassi.ctv.ca, which is really great if you don't mind watching the other stories that are going on. |

I kinda hope Peter will discover a new side of himself, but I highly doubt it.. He is the biggest womanizer ever on the show, though it wouldn't be the first time it happened in a series...
Can't wait to watch the continuation of the storyline, seems interesting;)

I can’t wait to see the new episodse too! I’ve quit watching the last two series when Dylan left for Europe, and I have a curiosity about how Marco storyline ended? Could someone tell me a little about it?

You can also watch full episodes at degrassi.ctv.ca, which is really great if you don't mind watching the other stories that are going on. Unfortunately, you can't watch the episodes from Europe. And it's really hard to find d/l of them.  |

maya: Last episode of Marco that I know of was the episode where Marco was broke. I could upload it to Dailymotion if you'd like, can't promise anything though, I have some computer problems.. But I'll try I don't know when the next episode with Riley will be. What I do know is that Riley will have at least one more A-plot. SPOLIER: probably the one involving steroids. He will also have several B-plots this season, so the writers are definitely moving forward with this storyline babylondancer: About the episodes, I can't say anything here, but I can probably help you if you PM me mizuruyuu: I am not so sure about Marco, heard he's recurring, but he's not one of the regular cast members anymore. But wouldn't be surprised if he's coming back for an episode or two Oh, and I have some news that will probably please you if you're an Adamo fan.. He's apparantly playing in a gay christmas movie! This is what I find frustrating about watching Degrassi - the way they focus each episode on certain characters, as opposed to an ensemble cast. So weeks can go by with no real development to your favorite storyline at all. I just find it very difficult to get into. Sigh.... I may just wait and watch the whole batch when the season is over. Looks like Riley might get some boy action tomorrow from someone from his past
and Riley is looking pretty damn fine if I have to say so myself

I miss Darco and I miss the old characters I am definitely not invested in the new ones. I barely watched last season and I only saw one episode this season and that is the one with Riley in it.
I am not sure what I think of where it is going and I sort of wish this show would end. I mean it keeps moving from station to station and it is never on the same time on my TV. Each week it is on at a different time. I remember when I used to sit and watch this show every Monday night when it was on.
