TK was on the verge of dying at least once per season since the beginning of the show

It's a very hyped show, and unlike Love, Víctor there seem to be representation on the show (Joe and Sebastian seem to be dating)

I hope he will upload the rest soon.
They clearly want to tell their own story, the inspiration on Merlí is clear but the differences are very clear from the beginning so they don't have to follow the same path

Without gay characters he wouldn't have a career

They are four brothers, one is older (he is the golden boy and his father's favourite), the second brother is the main character and he has two younger brothers (at least in the novel).
None of the brothers is a main character

I read the novel in 2011 so i don't remember everything (but i always thought it could make a good tv show from the material). What people watch at the end it's really the beginning, in the novel a journalist is investigating the crime, and there are several main characters (the three teenagers, the journalist and a gay teacher).
First, the triangle is quite curious, the character that plays Manu Ríos is a charismatic leader on class but he is the black sheep of his family, he is gay and he is in love with his best friend (who is not as charismatic or handsome), his best friend is in love with the female friend and she loves the Manu Ríos character so they end sleeping all together and develoving a strong bonding.
He is accussed of killing his father and put one of his younger brothers into a comma, but the truth is his father hit on his brother and he was killed by the younger brother (they are four brothers) who has problems with his temper.
The end is open, because the journalist discovers the truth but we don't know what he is going to do with that truth. The main character is protecting his younger brother

I only watched a couple of videos but the italian doesn't seem a version of Merlí but a story based on Merlí, it has some things in common but the relationship between Samuele and Manuel seems very different from Bruno and Pol

La edad de la ira is not a telenovela but a tv series.
It's based on a popular young adult novel (written by a popular gay writer).
It has some plot holes but it's entertainning and has several gay characters

It seems Omar is going to participate in the Melodifestivalen (swedish preselection to Eurovision). It'll be the third time, the first was with a group and the second was as a solo artist

Today they'll air the second season. I think there'll be queer characters too but i'll miss the old cast (when you start to like them, and they were very unlikeable, the show ends and there's new ones)

Well, we got used to thirty something playing teenagers in american shows. Omar looks youngish, maybe not 15 but very young anyway, and Willhem even has his teenage acne.
Of course it's better if they film fast but there's no need to hurry. Of course they could go the Elite or Locke and Key route and film two seasons at the same time

It's always gay male showrunners in american shows. That doesn't happen in other countries.
The first season of Quantico seemed written by an homophobe instead an openly gay writer.
If you want a bi character just create a bi character (we know in this kind of show it'll end with a girl from the very beginning and just don't invest time in him) but an openly gay guy experimenting with heterosexuality just after coming out doesn't seem realistic. The less cliche is the power of gay sperm, which is a soap opera classic, the gay not only hook up with a woman but get her pregnant (even if it was only one night).
This is overdone. You have a show like Heartstopper (i think it will air next year) that doesn't only have three gay male main characters but two of the actors are even a couple in real life, so there's absolutely no reason to cast straight actors who feel uncomfortable playing gay roles when you have openly gay young ones.
It's sad that some straight writers (like the Spartacus one) fight way more for their gay characters than some of the openly gay ones

Well, this is one of those few cases where the cast is young enough to really portray the characters, so they can wait a bit

I saw some on Twitter saying they hope Rahim and Adam hook up because that will teach Eric. Never mind that Adam bullied Eric for years! I guess that isn't enough payback. The toxic lessons these Netflix shows teach younger viewers concerns me. To be fair Adam bullied Eric but not Rahim, so they being a couple makes way more sense than Eric chosing Adam over a really nice boyfriend. The problem with the writting is the need of make everyone a couple. They could write a good storyline for Adam making him realize his behaviour and making him a good person in the proccess, but of course they wanted a couple with the bullied guy. And in this case is specially bad because the bullying was pretty intense and Eric feared Adam for a good part of the first season (and that was enough for his decission of dumping Rahim for him making no sense). I think there's a tendency to pair the bullied and the bully on gay storylines. That's not accepted when it comes to straight couples, of course that's recent and people loved their rapist/victim love stories for decades. The worse part is fans seem to love this kind of storylines. In my oppinion it's way easier to make the love/hate storylines when you chose rivals or antagonists instead of a bullying storyline. It's way easier to digest and makes way more sense

Yes, Rahim background was a totally non issue.
And they only seem to cast gay actors to play jerks, i don't know if Lukas Gage is openly gay (but he was on a movie that gets publicity saying that all of its actors were gay so i suppose that's the case) and Nicholas Hamilton barely had a sentence (which is curious because he has a bigger profile than most of the young cast of the show).
They need longer seasons or they'll be totally constricted.
And i think an actor should play any role he/she wants but a show with a main gay character and a gay theme should have at least a gay actor on the main cast (even if he is playing straight). And i know the cast is young and people tend to come out when they are a little older and all that jazz, but there are enough openly gay young actors out there to find one suitable

As i say i ended watched the second season and i like it but there are things to improve.
Rahim is a character (and actor) with charisma but that's the reason it works, the way introduced him was pretty bad, you can't put front and center a character that barely was there when you have main characters (Andrew, Benji) barely developed.
People always complain about Love, Simon (some of the criticism is really absurd like lack of diversity when even the novel have a lot of variety on the characters) but the lack of drama is intentioned, it's like a safe haven showing that even you have a positive enviroment is difficult to come out (which is true). But the movie did a thing way better than the show, the main actor is straight, but the three love interest are played by gay actors.
You can't do a show where gay themes are the center of the show and don't have a single gay actor as regular, and when you hire one it's to do a ridiculous masc 4 masc scene (Hamilton only has one scene and it's clearly to serve a purpose not for a real storyline). I know most gay actors of the right age are not out of the closet but that doesn't mean it's that difficult to find one. Now they have three gay characters so maybe they need a new one because frankly based the main story on a triangle doesn't seem a good idea to me.
They show the nice part of Andrew and that's good but that character needs a storyline to show some background.
I suppose Víctor chose Benji (frankly, it doesn't make really sense otherwise) but they surprise me when Felix chose Pilar, specially because they make a really good job making Lake (a character that could be annoying as hell) a very empathic character. Anyway, i don't buy the Lake/Lucy couple they imply in the end. Lucy is Benji's friend and they seem all very queer but they will need to redo everything about Lake to make that couple make sense (of course maybe they don't go there)

There's a lot to comment but i'm very happy a show like this exist (and i would have love to watch this when i was 15)

Álvaro Rico plays a gay character in El Cid. Unfortunately the gay storyline is short lived

Well, i'm on 9th episode and i'm kind of like Raheem now (well, the guy is charismatic for sure) and i like they used an openly gay actor to play his online friend/crush whatever he was because i am just in nicholas hamilton's first scene

At least this time the bullying was ages ago and he had plenty of time to recover, unlike the usual i'm punching you one minute and we are making out the second after that
