The things is...VL writers don't write for Chrolli fans; they write what they feel will entertain and interest their viewers in Germany. I think they are aware of the international stardom of Chrolli and have catered to those fans by making a soap couple be together monogamously and happily for so long. but if they feel an extended hetero kiss with a female lead will build drama and interest for the audience so they tune in to what happens next and thus grow the soap's viewership, the writers/directors/producers/editors will do just that. We view Chrolli's story from our fandom lens but in the big picture they are but parts of a bigger puzzle. The audience has seen Olli and Christian kiss many, many times. But the buildup to Rebecca/Christian kiss has been long and drawn out, and it is the FIRST between them (and here's praying, last). Dramatically, it would make no sense for them to do a three second peck. What's the effect of a 3 second kiss? Well, Olli's kiss with Rebecca and Christian's kiss with Miriam was glossed over in 2 minutes of show. sorry, sorry, it didn't mean anything, ok I forgive you, lets all be friends again. Olli's kiss with Rob was big because of how much Rob and Christian hated each other and were fighting for Olli; Rebecca's kiss with Christian had to be big because the fallout has to meaningful and emotional and heart-wrenching later on to get ready for more angst and drama. It didn't make it any easier to stomach, but there was a dramatic purpose for it. The emotional roller coaster has been sooooo entertaining; makes you want to throw stuff at the screen or make you say blech or Gah or Awwwww....and you can't stop watching to find out what happens next...which is exactly the point of a soap. I think it would still have been just has dramatic if the kiss lasted three-five seconds. And viewing from VL current ratings, I don't think the Christian/Rebecca storyline is nail biting stuff that viewers are counting down the hours waiting for their next showing. That's why I think a few seconds instead of a quarter minute would have worked just has well by putting the fear of God in what this possibly could mean for Christian and Rebecca's potential. And quite frankly, I find the Rebecca/Christian storyline one hot mess which is neither dramatic or engaging. I find it just silly, childish, counter productive and a waste of screen time. And lets just throw in the poor acting skills from Jasmine Lord.

But the powers that be don't know that, hence the big ol' long kiss. It's THEIR device. Again, if the writers were going down this road I wish they had written a better character and went with a more charismatic actress (better yet, actor I love the Rob intrigue much more for those reasons. The merging of the two forces threatening to pull Chrolli apart is definitely must see TV for me though, seeing how they react and change as characters; seeing Jo and Thore pull through with spectacular performances. They are magic. I hope the show delves deeper into the other sides of their characters and explore those issues in their relationship, and not just bicker back and forth over kissing games.

Yesterday I wanted to justify what I posted about the Chribecca kiss, but was out of town. Today I wanted to add a few more thoughts. First, I want to clarify that I have complete respect for Thore the actor. From seeing him a couple of weeks ago and hearing all the positive feedback from fans...this is a really nice guy. And from reading and seeing his given interviews it is apparent that Thore is a very professional actor. He has never disrespected this storyline, his character or said anything hurtful about him being straight and having to kiss another man. The worst and only thing Thore has really commented on is the stubble problem, which is a nothing issue. I would go as far to say he is one of the coolest straight men to ever play a gay role. My grievance is with the way the Christian and Rebecca kiss was filmed. The length and passion of it was completely unnecessary. It could easily have been a few seconds with David suddenly interrupting and would still have carried the same weight and consequent of a 15 second make out session. And you can't really argue with the many fans who are so very upset at seeing this when contrasted with Rob's kiss with Olli being 3-4 seconds. Plus, to add insult to injury the last two years, Olli and Christian's kisses have been neither as lenghy or sensual like Chribecca's lip lock at the end of Thursday's episode. I am completely aware that Thore does has Thore is instructed by the VL crew. I don't have an issue with Thore, its the VL writers who deliberately wrote the kiss this way with Thore and Jasmine executing it has written. This makes it all the more upsetting to me that the double standard was so blatant. Someone wrote earlier it was like a slap in the face to the many devoted fans...I totally agree. Yep, I totally agree: it's the same old story...VL doesn't really believe probably in deepening this gay SL (otherwise it would have already done it, giving them a real beautiful story), but it has always used that cleverly enough, to make good publicity to them, without substance... The characters are never well rounded, the viewers are supposed to be women, not so young, hence I've noticed also the lesbo-scenes are quite poor, & VERY chaste (I presume, for the same reason), with the boys here they've pushed for a little extra, knowing that the girls-audience (& gays watching from abroad & through internet) would have enjoyed to see these hot 2 guys making up (I even didn't liked particularly that recent bed-scene, mixed with that silly videogame-playing, & them out of the blue acting like in a choreographied ballet, but even without kissing for real ?! As someone else pointed out)... Same about the vlog: have you noticed that Chrolli seem always like good buddies?! It's like VL-staff sponsors Ollian, but just to stay closed in their bubble...& Thore especially (I don't know if because Jo is perhaps gay, or simply a better actor), in last months is sending out message of growing discomfort in making intimate scenes: I guess it's because in the beginning he was more strict to the character, he was making his best to try hard to do it, right now he's more relaxed, because he knows to have (I suspect) the largest fan base...Besides, what's all the fuzz with the beard, if he had only to kiss the lips, BTW?! Ok, whatever, no offence to anyone, but after having seen that all plot is directed towards Rebecca, Robert is utilized only as a mere puppet (what a waste!!)...I say WHATEVER! They don't deserve these viewers anymore

You all are free to like or dislike a character, post your opinions on said characters, and engage in discussions about your likes and dislikes.
Some of you are very upset about the Christian/Rebecca kiss, and that's completely understandable. No one's knocking your right to be upset.
However, I am starting to get very angry at these type of posts where people talk about their "suspicions" and speculations on an actor's motives and make posts as if they know the inner psyche or mindset of these people. They don't know.
Posts like this are unfounded and extremely subjective and patently unfair to the actors, who short of coming on this thread and posting a rebuttal, have no way to defend themselves.
