Yes. They were in the middle of the kiss and then the episode broke off. It's on rtl-now already.
Deniz was the one who intiated the kiss (which looked kinda uncomfortable, probably because Roman wasn't expecting it) right after Roman said that feelings didn't just stop between people, like with Vanessa and Ben, Roman and Deniz and Deniz knew that feeling too. Which is why it bugs me to have little "yearning" build up.

Maybe it will play out better than it reads but if it doesn't, then it totally seems out of left field. Then again Deniz did always like to get & give comfort with his mouth and other parts of his body. So basically Roman was like "the hell?" and then got in to it? RTL now is blocked at my job so I won't be able to see it for at least 6-7 hours.

It was one of those surprise kisses (kinda like Ollian's first one) rather than the type where they slowly get close and closer and then kiss. So Roman didn't have time to return it yet, but made some very funny faces. I'm sure it will get cuter tomorrow That's why I said that today was a bit of a gip and hopefully the fallout tomorrow will be the really interesting stuff.

Awesome. Thanks for the screencaps. That was totally all Deniz down to that hands on the side of Roman's face. Huh, so talking about not necessarily having feelings be dead for a past partner and he starts to suck Roman's face. Ooook. I bet there were more sparks even with Roman's WTF reaction than with DeVa. I am so curious now to see how the scene plays out up to that moment.

It looked pretty awkward to me, but I guess it was supposed to be. Gotta see what it's gonna be like tomorrow. I actually liked the scene before that more, Roman is cleanring a cut on Deniz face and is kinda wistful. But it seemed to me that Deniz/Igor was doing a lot of Zoolandering in this episode.
I'm starting to wonder if above all Deniz is just a hugely egoistic asshole. That he hooked up with Vanessa because maybe he thought she was pulling away in her own way. And now he gets pissed about that again and just as Roman is starting to get more mature he throws him another bone.
Remember, Deniz was the one who secretly wanted to keep BOTH Roman and Vanessa at the same time rather than dumping either of them.
It's just sad because Deniz and Vanessa used to have a really neat friendship going on before that and it seems that nothing is left of that anymore.

I had hoped that there would be evidence of Deniz yearning to be with Roman, but I guess, we'll have to see in tomorrow's episode. Thanks for the screen caps, Lola.
This Marian/Nina thing is simply yucky. Nadja just miscarried for goodness sake. Marian must have mourned 1 minute his dead child.

Maybe there was and I just didn't see much of it.
Or there was supposed to be and Igor zoolandered it too much.
The whole episode was a bit on weird side.
Have you watched it already Simone?

Going through the storyboard, Ben might be my hero. Hee.
I find it interesting that Vanessa takes care of Ben and leaves Roman to take care of Deniz. At least that is how it is coming off in the storyboard.

At least that is how it is coming off in the storyboard. Oh totally. That's part of why the episode comes off so weird to me. It almost seems like Vanessa is already sick of Deniz and has no desire to make up with him. It seems that after the fight she actually takes Ben to her place (even though the fight takes place at the Steinkamp lot) and fixes him up there.

The storyboard description with the last few photos were intriguing. I guess the only thing I am confused about was the model. Deniz turned her down even though he told her he was single and was caught by Ben kissing her on the cheek?

He kissed her goodbye on the cheek which is not unusual in Europe/Germany. Maybe Ben thought he lingered for too long? Deniz kept affirming that he was single. Interestingly the picture story implies that he said he was single for selfish reasons, which is odd because it was something Vanessa and Deniz agreed on with Max. So why is everybody suddenly acting like it's a big deal and proves that Deniz is into that model? Again, maybe he was. Igor really didn't give me much in this episode. I didn't get either "is into her" or "is not into her" (for example in the previous episode I got the "is not into her" much more in the scene where she is changing and asking him advice on her bra; it came across more like he was feeling uncomfortable about lying and her putting the moves on him).
He also spent most of the episode reacting jealous about Ben and complaining about incest. (I actually thought the fight scene was pretty well done and Igor actually came across as pretty angry type passionate in it)
My problem is that the whole thing could have been made a lot more romantic with just a handful of tweaks. Like Deniz acting more wisfully, the kiss being longer and maybe having some wistful music to go with it. But the way it was the episode wasn't really satsfying to me. Maybe it will be to somebody who is more of a shipper.

Hmmm, I can't wait to watch it. I might have to bring my laptop with me to work tomorrow. Also, I might be a bit of a shipper so I will probably have some thoughts on that end. Vanessa putting Ben before Deniz as she seems to do in this episode is going to wound his ego, no doubt. I need to see if he's actually hurt by her defection or if he's just being vain. And through all of this Roman's like "Deniz you're an idiot?". PLease?

I think you'll like it Particularly since I just lowered your expectations so much, I think you'll probably enjoy it a lot As for Deniz and why he is angry about Ben... whatev. Whatever the writers and Igor are trying to tell me I don't get it. Roman was actually relatively sane and calm in this episode.

I am glad he was clam for once. I guess that means he's not hurting as much. I've been reading some of the thoughts on the "Kuss" thread on RTL's official site. Interesting posts about today and the whole triangle mess.

I actually liked Roman in this episode; he was not all about the drama this time. He acted all sane and calm like Lola said. Quite nice for a change... ;D I like the Deniz/Roman scene, but I really do not get where it came from. It felt like it came out of the blue; suddenly Deniz is into Roman again??? Or is he feeling a bit nostalgic after the comment Roman made? I hope tomorrow's episode will clear some things up...

The storyboard description of why Deniz did it was intriguing but *shrugs* who knows.

Hey Lola, I just watched it. The Marian/Nina scene stood out most to me because it made me ill. Why doesn't he just ask her to move out? Marian is a pathetic loser. Poor Nadja. Deniz is always getting beat up. He is ridiculous. Shouldn't Vanessa have gone after her boyfriend? I thought the Deniz/Roman scene was okay. At least, Deniz initiated the kiss showing that he still has some desire for Roman. I hate the dramatic close ups of the eyes that AWZ does. It is lazy and undermines the actors' performances in an attempt to play up the drama. Jenny and Max haven't actually done it, right? Oh, I agree about Roman coming off normal and sane in this episode. I hope we see more of this Roman. I don't know why he had to be the one to tend to Deniz though. Let Deniz fix his own face while Roman watched on.

I'm not sure. I didn't really watch the episodes, but I assume they did it in that hotel room were they were taped? Or did someting interrupt them there? Maybe that's where Deniz gets it from But yeah, Vanessa was very cold regarding Deniz in this episode (which is weird, in the previous episode she was still telling Roman to get a life when he suggested something about Deniz and the model and in this episode she already takes it for granted). First she talks to Ben, but refuses to talk to Deniz even when Ben tells her to. Then when Roman and Vanessa pull Ben and Deniz apart she moves to Ben's side and stand with him. Then she takes Ben home and fixes him up while Deniz stays behind. And they haven't even talked/fought yet. *shakes head at the supposed logic of AWZ* There are things I like about AWZ, such as the way the characters talk or the fact that they have a wider variety in looks (like Anette, Vanessa and Fr. Steinkamp; while on VL Judith is the closest to "real sized" and she is still gorgeous) and with Marian and Deniz they have Turkish origin people (which in Germany is usually as far as you get with "diversity"). But these camera jumps bug the fuck out of me. Also the little "aaaahhhh" sound when they go from scene to scene.

And Roman tending Deniz - well, that reminds me ... For both topics see ep. 288

So what your saying, Lola, that the chances of seeing a black person or biracial on either soap is slim to none? I thought Jenny & Max had done it and the whole thing was caught on film.

Well there was 4 episodes Andrew... (or for however long he was around). I think Lindenstrasse has done storylines on race (I seem to remember a young adopted black girl?) but I don't know whether they had any regular characters and for how long. ETA: apparently they had Mary and Bariya (but that's Lindenstrasse... you can't really compare Lindenstrasse to anything else) Not sure about any other soaps like Marienhof or GZSZ. But I remember cringing when I read through the various summaries of characters on VL and the only non-white character they had was a South American woman who apparently was both a maid and a whore of one of the villainous characters who had lived in South America for a while. *headdesk* Is Max supposed to be half something? Because Mr. Steinkamp kept repeating that he was Argentinian. (I have to admit all the South America references always creep me out a lot because the whole nazi criminals/South America connection)

Well, on just about every movie and television show in the U.S. where a German appears the character is usually a Nazis or a Nazi conspirator so stereotyping exists every where. Pity it doesn't stop.

Maximilians father was a riding instructor from Argentina. When Max first came to Essen as Maximilian Santiago de Castillo he pretended to be the son of a very rich man from there. The actor, Francisco Medina, is half-chilenian (? sp)
