I know there isn't a lot of the show left before it wraps on September 17th but please remember to post in the appropriate threads.
Also, once the episode airs on the east coast, which is 2-3pm ET, it is no longer a spoiler and should be discussed in one of the general discussion threads.
Thanks.

They don't get together at all, at least according to Van's interview. Noah goes off to LA and Luke stays behind to grieve the man he loved. Luke and Noah part as friends. If there's going to be a reunion, people will have to make it up in fan-fic.

One thing I like about Van's interview in SOW is that he talks about Luke choosing himself, instead of someone else. That's what I really wanted for Luke, for him to grow up and realize he needs to work on himself and not see himself as one half of a couple. I just wish that he had to have lost Reid to realize that. I think being with Reid and then losing him gave Luke the kind of strength he didn't know he had. But he'll go into his next relationship a more mature and together person.

SOD according to Van... "It offers some hope. There are no fine lines. Who knows, maybe someday in the future Luke and Noah will end up together in LA!"
I haven't seen the original yet to confirm.
Also, apparently, Luke gives Noah a going away present.. a video camera. I thought Noah had one already but I guess Luke gives him another one at WOAK.

Yes, it does say that in SOD. But Van basically says the same thing in SOW. Maybe they'll get together, maybe they won't. It's open ended. And that's fine with me.

For me, this means about as much as people saying that if the show had not been canceled then Luke and Reid would still be together. Neither of these cheap platitudes makes any sense, because the show has been canceled. The only place where Luke and Noah will end up together is in fan fiction. And given the circumstances, I really doubt that anything will be said that hasn't been said before that could be construed as meaning that these two will get back together.
Again for me, the ending is not left open or ambiguous. According to Van, once again Noah asks Luke to come to LA, and once again Luke says no. If that isn't enough, just a week ago, Luke told Noah that they weren't meant to be together, there is nothing unclear or open ended about that statement, at least not in my opinion. So when the only thing that matters, that being the show ending next Friday, Luke will still be mourning Reid, and Noah will have moved to LA. Fans of any pairing can come up with scenarios that will happen after that, but for me, that type of stuff doesn't change what played out on screen.

I doubt a LuRe relationship would have been any different with the writers than Nuke. Probably would have started off ok but it would have suffered the same fate through the years. Virtually nothing but a fights and a few kisses until a few weeks ago and then ILU on the day Reid dies. It's nice to say otherwise but It's ATWT after all. Just look at what you got with LuRe already.
I don't think Noah will ask Luke to go to LA with him... I think Noah will say that he won't ask but hopes that sometime that Luke will visit and I believe Luke will say that he's not ready now but I think he will agree to visit.

Previews show that Noah tells Luke that someday soon when or if he's ever ready, to come to LA and he'll be waiting. So I bet they leave it like that.

Who knows, DK would have stayed if the show had not been canceled, and he seemed to be a lot more invested in Reid than JP ever was in Noah or even Luke. I don't remember a lot of fights, especially when DK was writing for them, but I do remember that the foundation for a strong relationship was laid. Who knows what would have happened, but the fact is that the show was canceled, so it does't matter, just like discussions of whatever Luke and Noah will do after September 17th don't matter. ATWT promos are always misleading, especially when they are showing reaction shots, but I think that Luke looks so uncomfortable with Noah's proposal. I really hope he's asking as a friend, even though his body language doesn't indicate that. I know he's still in love with Luke, and wants him back, but this is not the time. A sign of growth for him would be to accept that he and Luke are friends, and work on that for now, with the hope that it will blossom into something more.

I don't think he looks uncomfortable, but I don't think he's going to give the answer that Noah want to hear. I don't think he's going to assure Noah that they'll get back together and pick things up at some point.

I haven't read the spoilers for the last day, but I get the sense that Noah and Luke don't end up together. I think it kind of makes sense, even though a lot of people won't be happy with that scenario. I think it is too soon for Luke to promise any future with anyone, his emotions are still too raw from shock of losing Reid.

Not to mention Luke and Noah have a ALOT of issues to still work out if they can ever be a couple again. Luke has grown up over of the past months and he's still maturing. Noah has changed some, but he still needs to work on some things too. All in all, I don't think Luke would be willing to go back to the kind of relationship he had with Noah before. Otherwise he would've have gone back to him rather than deciding to be with Reid.

Luke "deciding" to be with Reid had a lot to do with Noah pushing him away during his blindness. Let's not get it twisted. If Noah hadn't done that Dr. Reid would never have stood a chance. And for those who don't really want to beleive it, maybe you need to go back and rewatch what Luke actually says to Noah about the subject. Reid was an ass but in his way he showed Luke he wanted him, which is at the time was what Luke needed. Not to mention Reid represented a different kind of challange for Luke. I agree that Luke has changed, but I don't really see his changing as growth or having matured all that much. He's still basically the same person he always was. Which is why at some point even if he doesn't leave with Noah, he'll probably end up with Noah.

I'm not twisting anything. No, if Noah hadn't pushed Luke away they would have never broke up and Luke would have stayed with Noah. None of this wouldn't have happened if Noah hadn't done what he did. I'm referring to way down the line when Noah, after realizing what an idiot he'd been, wanted Luke back and Luke told Noah they weren't right for each other and realized that he'd fallen in love with Reid. He could have gone back to Noah then, but chose not to.
As for whether Luke and Noah ever get back together, we'll never know, will we since they end things apart with Luke still grieving Reid. I don't assume that's going to happen. Luke won't and shouldn't grieve forever (and he's far too needy to be without a man for too long), but why does it mean running back to Noah? Because it's just as plausible that Luke moves on with his life in Oakdale and Noah moves on with his in LA and they remain friends. Or eventually drift apart altogether, which happens in life and in soaps.

Anybody can make up whatever ending they want to for what could happen after September 17th. Sadly, the writers have decided to end the show with Luke in mourning, and have decided to have his final scene be one that they stole from General Hospital, who stole it from St. Elsewhere, and without a doubt, I'm sure that Friday's scene won't have as much meaning as the ones on those two shows did. Even though, I'm sure that Van will be great.
I think Luke not running after Noah speaks to the fact that he has matured, and it speaks to what he told Noah during the episode prior to the one that aired on Sept. 1st, Reid was only part of the reason why Luke wasn't going to LA with Noah, but he wasn't the whole reason. Luke has his whole life in Oakdale, that's where his business, foundation, and family are, those are things that Luke listed, not me, and on September 1st, Luke also said that they weren't meant to be together. Luke being with Reid had nothing to do with Noah, and Luke not being with Noah didn't have anything to do with Reid. Luke was in love with Reid, but if Reid wasn't around, like he's not now, he still would't have gone back to Noah.
Both Luke and Noah are on different paths in their lives. They've grown apart, as Jake S. said. That doesn't take anything away from what they shared, or from the fact that there are still feelings there, but that doesn't mean that they will make a good couple.
I hate the statement by tptb that Reid had to die to show that Luke has grow-up but I think during his time with Reid that Luke learned that there are other men in the world besides Noah, and that he could fall in love with someone else (Remember when Luke told Reid that he used to think that he and Noah would be together forever.) I think this lesson is what will help Luke realize that he doesn't have to go with Noah, even though he is in mourning, and not ready to move on, he will know that he can find love and happiness again, even though he's lost Reid, but it doesn't necessarily have to be with Noah.
That's just my take on what we will be left with on Friday, since I'm not going to get into what will happen after the show is no longer in production.

Who knows how much time Luke and Noah will be given tomorrow, since: Janet has her baby. We learn who the baby's father is. Carly has a surprise for Jack. We get to see Holden and Lilly bonding. With all that, and given how much JP loves Janet, I don't know how much reminiscing Luke and Noah can get done.

Luke has changed, but that is not the same thing as maturation. He clearly has a different outlook than he did before Reid came into the picture. But he's still fundamentally the same person, in my eyes, as he was a year ago. And yet, if I remember correctly, Luke still said he had always pictured himself as having gone with Noah to LA. Despite all of those things. Lol, that's a difficult sentence to parse and understand . Anyway, I disagree. Reid's presence was a game changer as far as Luke was concerned. If only because it changed the way Luke viewed the world. Luke was still showing his clingy behavior with Noah when Reid showed up. It wasn't until Reid started giving advice to him (in his own inimitable way) about his relationship with Noah that Luke started to rethink things. Which leads to the last point: Well, that's conjecture. We will never know how that hypothetical scenario might have played out. We can't say now Nuke would have played out if Reid never came around.

One of the funny things about that is that years ago, when Noah talked about them moving to NY, Luke said no, and that he would never leave Oakdale, because that's where his family is.
But, I'm not sure what that statement has to do with Luke saying that he and Noah aren't meant to be together, or Luke realizing that his life doesn't have to revolve around Noah, or any man.
Reid's presence changed how Luke views the world and himself, but it had nothing to do with why he broke up with Noah, and even though Luke was in love with Reid, it's not like if Reid wasn't around, Luke would have run to Noah. I think on more than one occasion Luke articulated his reasons for why he didn't want to be with Noah.
I will admit that being with Reid seemed to give Luke the backbone that he needed to articulate those reasons. The Luke that we saw on the rooftop right after Noah's surgery, was a Luke who was born out of Luke's experiences with Reid, but I think that everything that he said in that scene to Noah had more to do with his feelings for Noah, and not so much to do with his feelings for Reid.
It's conjecture to say that if Reid wasn't there then Luke would get back together with Noah, but Luke did breakup with Noah before he started dating Reid and even before he learned that Reid was gay. We also know that he isn't going to get back together with Noah before the show ends on Friday, he's going to be strong enough to say no. We also know that he told Noah a few weeks ago that Reid wasn't the only reason that he wasn't going to LA.

There was no LuRe relationship until Holden's "wedding" and then they couldn't sleep together because Luke was too busy equating sex with Noah. They had one disastrous date, where Noah came up multiple times and then on the day Reid died, they finally managed to tell each other ILU but both were very unpassionate. This whole epic love that everyone keeps talking about never happened. It was made up by the show and by the soap press but never really made onto the tv screen until the last 3 weeks of the show.
In order to find out if Luke matured, you would of had to seen him in a situation were he could show his maturity. Unfortunately, there was never one. There was never a situation like a kidnapping, family issues (other than Holden's wedding and that wasn't a big thing for Luke) or any of the bullshit that Nuke had to go through where Luke could show his maturity. Basically everything revolved around Reid, the hospital and Chris. Luke was only a supporting player for Reid.
No, we will not see Nuke become a couple today. Luke will agree to go to LA at some point but other than that. Nothing. It should be a sweet goodbye though.
