I felt that way at first, but Olli really is very adamant about leaving the hospital. NOW. I think he had just shut down and was not even capable of making a statement to the police.
And of course, soap laws of complications to any situtation apply as well... ;D

Thank you Nanna, Ivan, and Tihkon for your dedication!after seeing it with the translations, I liked the episode overall, I think I over-hyped for myself and was slightly disappointed, but all around it was okay. Christian's reaction seemed normal to me when he found Olli and his reaction at the hospital. Like it was mentioned earlier everyone reacts differently and Christians way of dealing was trying to make a joke, it makes sense, as we all know he isn't the perfect example of someone who can express his feelings freely:) As for Olli, I got the feeling that he was slightly embarrassed in pissed off way (if that makes sense) at the hospital I like the little scene at the end. I agree with you sheepie that this is all a build up for September. At the moment i'm not worried about Judith, not with her upcoming storyline.Oh! I liked Gregor reaction too! Angry Gregor=HOT!

No matter how bad the injury, a band-aid is always sufficient. At least on TV.
I don't know. This falls into the same category as when women are raped and don't report it immediately. You can understand the sudden urge to secrecy but it's a really, really bad idea.
Being mauled by a professional boxer armed with a metal baton is not something one should feel particularly ashamed of, and Olli was already at the hospital anyway. If anything it seems irrational to me because now Axel is running loose, still dangerous and still hating Christian and Olli. You would expect Olli to want that situation remedied as soon as possible. I know that if there was some psycho out to get me I wouldn't feel safer leaving the matter lie and not telling the police.
Normal fear response alone should have had Olli wanting Axel found and dealt with. It's all very peculiar. Especially how he was so dismissive once he was alone with Christian.
BTW: The weird acoustics were in play again. I had to laugh when Olli said he overheard Christian and Gregor. I was expecting Christian to be shocked and proclaim that impossible.

nana29, you might want to edit your post so that no one here will get spoilt. I really worry about Ivan getting mad. Some people on YT posted a lot of spoilers on both his and my clip and I know he reads all the comments.

I have to admit to a wry smile to myself when Olli appeared with the obligatory plaster over the eye. And at a jaunty angle, no less. ;D

I watched again the hospital scene, and after reading your comments, it made more sense to me. This lame joke came just from Christian's confusion and his awkward behavior was also intentional, to show his uncertainty. I didn't said it before, but Jo played very well in this scene IMO. I've seen people in such situations and they just want to find a secure place and have nothing to do with some kinda bureaucracy - like official complaint (my aunt worked in hospital). BTW: What a evil cut at the end?! And on what purpose - more Brandtner-crisis! They've had no problem to give this scene two more seconds.

I thought Jo played the "take me home now before I fall apart in front of your eyes" really well. I could actually see that in his face. It was only after he was home, where he felt safe, with Christian that he seemed himself again.
One thing I thought was sweet. Gregor telling Christian that of course Axel would take on Olli (as if Olli would be a lesser fighter) and Christian quickly coming to Olli's honor saying that Axel had a nightstick, even HE would not have stood a chance. Awww....
And again..Oh my...can I just say AGAIN how much I'm in love with Olli?? When he told Christian that if he got a black eye so that he could come out...then it was ok because he loved him and that he was "proud of him".... oh my GOD..he is an angel. An absolutely Angel. No wonder Christian loves him so much. I love him too.

The whole Brandtner drama always gets on my nerves but today it was especially bad. I felt like they cut several Olllian scenes short (for example the Christian finds Olli one) so we could see more of the Brandtner's collective moping.

I thought Christian's reaction was pretty much what I expected. No matter how well your coming out goes, it's always hard when you have to face real homophobia for the first time. He's probably in even more shock about the incident than Olli.
Also, do the makeup/props people only have a box of band-aids on set? After they showed Olli, I expected at least a bandage across his forehead...but no, just a band-aid.

My only question to all of this is: Were can I get a boyfriend like Olli? He got beat up and all he worries about is making sure his guy doesn't feel guilty while lifting his auto esteem, and puts him first even if it costs him getting beat up. I want one.

Okay - two more things I want to say. Firstly - I really loved the Karate jump Christian did at the doorway - for all I knew what was coming - it still made me smile. Secondly - having re-watched it again - I now understand Christian exiting first at the hospital - initially that troubled me cos it seemed like he just charged off without waiting for Olli but I now realise he was unhappy that Olli did not want to get the police involved - he was prepared to let Olli have his way and totally understood Olli was in shock and just wanted to get home, but you can see he gives a small shake of his head just prior to exiting indicating that he was not in complete agreement with it. Thirdly - I loved the way Dr Leonhard suddenly produced painkillers for Olli out of his pocket like it was the most natural thing in the world for him to be carrying around medication in his pockets ;D

I'm more perplexed by Olli's refusal to tell Leonhard what happened and to bring in the police immediately. That's just stupid quite frankly. Axel is clearly dangerous and he's running around loose, a situation that won't change if Olli doesn't push. He should have been speaking to the cops, not Gregor and Christian. Certainly not the next day. Axel didn't appear to be wearing gloves and he opened the front door to No Limits before Olli could lock it. That means his fingerprints should be on the door, and possibly on other surfaces in the bar, including the beer bottle he drank from and then smashed. As I've watched the clip with subtitles, I'm now more perplexed by this than I was before. But for me that sticking point isn't the very rational (and very correct) reasons Psionycx has given. I'm coming up short in understanding the personal/emotional logic (even if it's illogical) in Olli's adamancy. It's quite clear Olli is in shock. And I can hardly blame him. But why is he so adamant to not say who attacked him and why is he so set on going home. Does he even seem upset with any suggestion otherwise? Normal fear response alone should have had Olli wanting Axel found and dealt with. It's all very peculiar. Especially how he was so dismissive once he was alone with Christian. As noted above, I do find Olli's secrecy and his somewhat ornery desire to get away from the hospital and get home (essentially where the attack happened, too) a bit peculiar. But I don't find what Olli says when he's alone with Christian all that peculiar. First, he's had a chance to mellow and normalize a bit. He's a bit more himself. And one of Olli's endearing qualities is his care for his Christian. He doesn't want Christian feeling guilty and burdened by what happened to him. So, of course he's going to be dismissive. But I also don't think it's entirely a calculated thing to say. Certainly he's downplaying the attack, but I do think he's also being honest with Christian as much as he's caring for Christian's own well-being. (Well, maybe except for the part about Axel just being angry about Christian winning.)

restenergy,My interpretation (bad spelling, sorry!) of Hospital Olli, is not that he was hiding Axel's identity or protecting anyone or scared of saying it, but that the important factor for Olli at that moment was, "Must. Get. Home." and telling Leonhard about the attack would lead to questions, and the police being rung-up, and possible questioning, and.... It was too much at the moment for Olli. That's my take on it anyway...

I agree. I think Olli simply had to get home, away from all the questions. He just needed to be with Christian.

My mind went right back to that scene too. I've been trying to remember what clip that's from, but I can't seem to think of it. Could anyone help?

I agree. I think Olli simply had to get home, away from all the questions. He just needed to be with Christian. But, as already noted, "home" is more or less where the attack took place. Granted No Limits is downstairs, but it's still right beneath them. Generally speaking, victims of crimes usually feel an aversion to the place where it happened, rather than a desire to be there, and certainly not a sense of security. With Axel at large I find it peculiar that Olli would basically want to return to the scene of the crime. To me this just falls a little flat.

Of course to each of us it will seem differently so I'm definately not saying anyone shouldn't think it was odd. But I think it's possible for Olli that there's probably a separation between first floor No Limits, where he was beaten, and the (2cnd, 3rd??) floor flat where he's lived since last year. And maybe "home" for Olli is alone with Christian.
Like I said, just my thoughts on it...

To me, Olli at the hospital seems as much "get away from here" as he seems "must get home," maybe even more so. (But I'm not sure if "here" is necessarily the hospital, or just "here".) It would seem easy enough to say "Axel did it" and still go home or say "that's all I'm saying now." For whatever reason, it didn't seem quite like he was just not talking, but he was being stubbornly tight lipped (and I'm not sure that Olli was entirely read to be thinking in terms of more external reasons that saying anything would mean A and then B and then...). And he could be safe with Christian, or just with Christian, either at home or at the hospital.
I understand Olli wants to be home. But what I'm not sure about is why he wants to be home. What's making that so urgent and necessary? Why isn't the hospital as good or even a better place to be just then? And seeing Olli in that scene makes me think that the question of why needs to be a more emotional and less rational reason.
But, then, maybe it's just me and I'm being stubborn, thick headed, or unaware. *shrug*

Well, like I've been saying, the big sticking point for me is that Axel is running loose. It's seems just plain irrational to not consider that a point of concern given what just happened to Olli. In fact, Axel very explicitly said he was going to attack Christian next.
Considering that Olli was beaten badly enough to go to a hospital one would think that he would not consider that an empty threat. Axel knows where he lives and is a potential threat to Christian (as well as Gregor, Judith and Lydia quite frankly). This wasn't a random mugging. Olli was attacked by a known person with an openly stated grudge and intent to commit further violence.
That Olli would suddenly be so unconcerned once he's back in Christian's bedroom is just plain weird. It also displays a bizarre lack of concern about Christian's (or anyone else's) safety. Which is even more strange since he's worried about Christian feeling guilty, but apparently not worried that Christian will get clubbed over the head from behind by Axel.

I just watched today's episode, and I have to be honest. it really upset me seeing Olli beat up like that. And the way Axel literally drank some beer and spat it all over him like he was a dog...just disgusting. Olli is such a gentle and beautiful person that it makes it all the more painful to see him beat down in such a manner.
I know it's only a fictional SOAP, but I actually felt quite distraught after seeing today's episode. So sad to see Olli trying to keep that 'stiff upper lip' so to speak, yet just wanting to go home from the hospital. Poor baby. These VL writers sure know how to play on one's emotions considering they had me at such a high yesterday.
I think this beating has affected Olli much more than he is letting on. I think his rush to get home can be a combination of embarrassment, wanting to be back in the norm...his flat, Judith blabbing on about Fabian and the security of being with Christian. He may even be fearing for Christian since Axel did threaten he was next. And I bet Olli hasn't mentioned this threat to Christian.
We didn't see the actual beating, which to be honest, I'm grateful we were spared, but who knows what mental torture was inflicted on Olli from this monster of a man. I think has time goes on mentally this is going to have quite an affect on Olli. And I bet he will hide how he is really feeling so has not to let Christian feel any more guilt than what he already is. But make no mistake, when one takes such a beating it can have devastating consequences on an emotional, mental and physical level.
Now regarding Christan's reaction...I think he is experiencing a combination of shock and guilt. Everything has happened so fast. He went from one of the proudest moments of his life in winning the boxing match and declaring his love for Olli in the most pubic of ways, to watching his true love take a beating because of his rash decision to come out without considering the consequences. And Christian, being the very stoic person that he is, reacted the only way he knew how...to make light of an horrendous situation. But I'm sure he feels a lot of guilt right now, and this guilt will accelerate and turn into anger, an anger which can only be buried for so long before bubbling to the surface and manifesting in ways that hopefully Axel will be on the receiving end.
Wow...this last week of Ollian have really been amazing. It sure has pulled at my emotions.

Not on the show. I actually think that (at least in my memory) this is the first bashing storyline VL has done. (which is quite a feat in what, like 10 years of gay and lesbian characters) The only other things that jump to my mind was Susanne saving Carla from an disgusting guy who was accosting her and Tom fighting off an obnoxious guy hitting on Ulli. And those were just one episode storylines that were never brought up again. (and those were suitors gone wrong, not homophobia related) Oh and Olli got manhandled a lot (including the whole cigarette butt deal) when it was making deals with drug dealers. But again, not homophobia related, just them punishing him because he lost their merchandise or couldn't pay off his bills.
Particularly considering that Leo is a former addict ;D
As for Olli in the hopsital, I have to give props to Jo here, but I think he played it really well. Maybe some of it lost for non German speakers, but I was really impressed how he conveyed Olli's shock with so little dialog to work with.
