Thankfully my family being from The South (fiddle dee dee! ) so words like vamoose don't throw me, but I reckon that vamoose is not a commonly used word outside of the southeastern USA. But come out to the west coast and it's all "like" and "dude". Actually vamoose is well known in the UK. But then, it is OUR language that you use over there in the states... You're just still bitter about us gaining independence from you. Man... let it go. Scamper off!!! Seriously though, I don't think I've ever heard vamoose used outside of the southeast USA. Oh well. And let's just say as long as it took Miriam to be comfortable in just being a waitress and not breaking things in No Limits, I don't think Gregor has a lot of faith in her intellect and cunning. Certainly not to fool a bunch of roughnecks who are physically threatening. So how long before Axel makes a move on Olli? I am betting 9 weeks. I watched the 20 Juni clip again and that exchange between Olivia and Constantin amuses me greatly still. ;D

I don't know where I first heard it, growing up in eatern Ontario, Canada, but I know the word vamoose very well. I use it myself and have heard it used on occasion over the years. Looking up the roots of it, I see the word originates from the Spanish word vamos, which in turn came from the Latin word vadamus.

I grew up in the midwest of the USA and vamoose was widely used by both parents and grandparents. And my in-laws from NYC use it too!

Maybe it's a generational thing as well as regional like "reckon"? Cause that is not a Cali word. Now "vamonos" I heard a lot. It's all good. I won't lose sleep over "vamoose". Now, let's gear up for the 23 Juni ep of VL. ;D

*snip* So how long before Axel makes a move on Olli? I am betting 9 weeks. *snip* Okay... I'll see your and raise you that Axel makes a move on Christian in 9 1/2 weeks and that Christian, more than a little sick of Olli's habitual meddling and subsequent hectoring ( But you can't tell them you're in love with a man/How much longer does this have to continue? -- Say, I arranged for Judith to be your beard/Say, what's the big idea kissing her right on the mouth like a girlfriend?), feeling a little guilty, a little (what was the phrase...) um, emotionally off-balance, acquiesces. If that were to happen, you could start the countdown for my departure at T -5 and counting. ;D Geoff
