I remember reading about the story of Ken's gay grandson before the actor debuted on the show, but there was no hype for it after that and I never saw a single episode with him in it, so I can't imagine it was a major story. He is cute so I hope they will give him a proper story (and a boyfriend) this runaround.

Anthony said this about a potential boyfriend: " I hear there are other male characters coming on board soon so I'm going to guess one of them will be a love interest for James. It's about time. This show hasn't had a VIABLE gay male character since Todd Grimshaw."

To be honest, I'm not expecting sex scenes.. We all know gay sex on tv is still kinda controversial. I'd be happy with a good storyline and a realistic portrayal of a gay relationship.. I'd be happy enough with kissing. And well.. I couldn't care less about Sean. The guy I'm looking forward to see is James Roache, and I certainly hope they bring in a love interest for him.

The last time Corrie had a kiss between men they got a lot of complaints, and it hasn't happened since. Hopefully something has changed but with Emmerdale as a guide, it's tough to see that happening.

I've always thought of the ITV soaps as the most conservative of the lot, and the pre-watershed airing coupled with the conservative audience probably rules out a lot of gay affection. (I know the watershed is not technically a barrier to depicting gay affection onscreen but many use it as a crutch for holding back.) But while sex scenes (or even the post-coital scenes like the ones depicted recently on Hollyoaks) are definitely off-limits, I imagine they will sneak in a gay kiss or two. The new producer is gay and says he wants the show to be a platform for gay issues. I know he has to toe the party line but I hope he will try to push it as far as it goes. It makes no sense whatsoever for teenage guys to be in chaste relationships and kissing is the bare minimum they should show them doing, although for ITV it's likely to be the maximum.
I do not care for the character of Sean either, and his plot for the spring leaves me cold, as did the declaration that he is to be one of the show's "main characters" in 2011. I do find it interesting that they are apparently running three gay/lesbian stories at the same time. I personally have no problem with it, but I can't say the same for many viewers. OLTL's gay characters were axed from the soap earlier this year following a backlash, supposedly for having too much "gayness", and I'd hate for the same fate to befall Corrie.

A new gay producer should be a good sign. And although I want gay sex scenes, I'd be happy as long as we get some kisses. I heard the lesbian couple isn't exactly having sex either, at least they treat lesbian and gay couples kinda the same, which is more than can be said about other soaps/tv series. BTW, I like how they have portrayed the lesbian couple thus far. They even kissed! lol. Granted, showing lesbians as sexual beings are not as controversial as showing gays, because lesbians caiter to the straight man, but gays are "yuck". But yes, the lesbian couple on the show leaves me caustiously (sp?) optimistic when it comes to this (potential) new gay couple. I mean, we don't even know if James will get a boyfriend yet. I certainly hope he will though! About OLTL... I still don't trust that excuse, I think it's complete and utter BS. The gay angle was not the couple's demise. The godly awful, crappy, horrible baby storyline was.. Ugh. I loved KISH, but I just couldn't watch the baby drama thing. It was horribly written, clishe and stupid.

Actually, before Aaron, the couple of Paul and Jonny on Emmerdale were not bad, especially compared to the pair of buddies Aaron and Jackson. Paul and Jonny had their ups and downs, but they did love each other, crazy about each other. They got married and had their happy ending. The village actually has been quite open-minded. There're lesbian and bisexual characters as well. Paul once had a successful drag show business in the village. Paul and Jonny both had quite a few good friends. During the first few months Aaron was in the village, Paul was still around. Aaron is always acting like he's the first and only gay ever in the village, whining about nobody could understand him, quite ridiculous imho. Before and after his coming out, actually nobody gave a fuss about Aaron‘s sexual orientation. Adam did give Aaron some hard time at a point but that's because he wanted to protect his sister. Aaron owes Adam and his family an big apology. Sorry, I went off topic.

My complaints aren't about village homophobia, but about ITV's fright. Emmerdale has allowed a few kisses between men, but more often you get moments like Paul and Jonny shaking hands at their wedding, and hugging as they left the show for a new life together. I liked their relationship, and they were far more believable as a couple than Aaron and Jackson, but I remember watching that last episode and shaking my head.
Corrie is even worse. They had one kiss between Karl and Todd and thereafter cut away from any kisses between them. Since that time their only gay character, Sean, has never kissed any other man on the lips. Then when Todd Grimshaw, who was the center of one of their biggest stories, returned briefly in late 2007, the actor made it clear he would be thrilled to return on a more permanent basis. No such luck. Meanwhile there's been no real indication that James is returning for any type of relationship, or anything beyond the same story he already had, which was more about Ken.
Considering how sensationalistic Corrie is becoming I will be relieved if they don't have Tracy pawing all over him.

I'm not sure if there are any videos for that specifically.
The first episode for Marcus isn't online that I know of (I will check again), but the second is. In the first episode Sean and Violet, carrying his child (they'd agreed to raise a child together through artificial insemination) went to the hospital for a scan, and Sean was smitten with the sonographer. Marcus gave Sean his number.
In this first clip Sean gets a birthday gift from Violet's quasi-boyfriend Jamie, and then goes to a meal with Marcus. :44-2:00 and 4:20-5:10 and 5:50-7:00.
This part goes from about 2:20 to 3:20 and 7:40 to the end of the clip. The date concludes, and then they go to the Rovers and Sean introduces Marcus to his friends.

September 26, 2007, Marcus' third appearance.
At 2:20-2:50, Marcus joins Sean and the girls in the Rovers, and is fascinated/bewildered after learning that Kelly tried to "turn" Sean (he's just lucky he didn't have to watch those awful scenes). Sean becomes annoyed and they go on their date. At 6:20-6:55 or so, they come back home, eating a snack, and debating the appeal of Shirley Bassey.
At :50-1:30, Sean and Marcus are tipsy and playing Dame Shirley a bit too loudly, leading to a chastising by Violet. Naughty Marcus turns the volume up way too loud for just a moment after she leaves.

Marcus' third appearance.
9:20 to the end of the clip - Marcus flashes his beautiful smile as he pops into the Rovers to see Sean on his break. This leads to a fascinating conversation about expectant mothers who smoke and drink.
This ends at about 15 seconds into the next clip. Then between 5:50 to around 6:10 Sean and Violet talk about how great Marcus is.
2:50 to 3:15, Marcus returns to the Rovers to take a babbling Sean to meet his friends.
The next 2 clips in this I didn't link to but is easy to find - basically Sean returns from a happy night spent talking and eating ice cream and then watching the sun come up on Marcus' terrace. Liz, the pub landlady, is annoyed because Sean was late for work (his battery was dead). She also tells him that Violet tried to contact him, as she had to go to the hospital due to nausea. Sean is upset at the news and races to the hospital. When he gets there Violet and Jamie are leaving and they tell him everything was fine. Back at the Rovers, Sean is still worried about Violet and feels ashamed for not being there when she needed him; Violet tries to reassure him.

In the next episode, October 8, Sean continues to vent to Jamie and Violet about his remorse. He pledges to them that he will only focus on the baby. At 6:25-7:30, Sean runs into Marcus in the Rovers and tells him that they should slow down so Sean can focus on his unborn child. Marcus says that's OK, because now he can go clubbing on his own and Sean will be there when he gets back. Sean doesn't look thrilled.
From about 6:15-6:45, Sean and Marcus sit in the Rovers and Marcus reassures Sean that he's fine with Sean spending more time with Violet, and they don't have to "do it" (drinking and clubbing - they certainly aren't going to reference anything more than that) every night, as Sean would tire him out. He pinches Sean's cheeks (on his face) and goes. Sean follows, but mutters to Michelle on the way out that he thinks he's in love. Michelle's probably just happy he's not sleeping with her boyfriend again.

In episodes that weren't on Youtube, Marcus and Sean had tension because Sean wanted to know the sex of the baby (Violet didn't), and Sean tricked it out of Marcus. Violet is upset over the increasing amount of fondness Sean seems to have for the baby, and is furious when she learns Sean found out about the baby's gender and told other people. She forgives him but then blames Marcus, saying she is going to report him. Sean convinces her not to.
Violet and Jamie, who had been split up at the time that Violet decided to have a baby with Sean, got back together, and they told Sean, who had unbeknownst to them decided he wanted to be a father to the baby, that now he didn't have to worry about anything because they'd be the mother and father. This soon leads to a big fight between Violet and Sean, and Sean goes to see lawyers for his custodial rights. He realizes he can't afford the legal fees and decides not to pursue a battle. Marcus and Jamie finally get them to make up.
Violet and boyfriend Jamie are moving into their own place but need money. From about 5:00 to 6:40, Sean and Marcus talk about trying on wigs and then Sean says he's going to give Violet money. Marcus is surprised to learn Sean hasn't asked them yet and says they might be offended and feel he is being intrusive. At 9:10 to the end of the clip, Marcus reminds Sean that he has no rights to the baby. Sean says he's trying to be more responsible. In the first 15 seconds of the next clip, Sean says if he gives them money, they will let him see the baby more often. From 6:10 to 7:10, Sean tries to give them the money, and, unsurprisingly, they refuse.
The next clip just has Violet and Sean at home, Violet saying she'd love to accept the loan but Jamie won't allow it, as it hurts his pride. They go to the Rovers to discuss it further and run into Violet's sister, Lauren, one of the most annoying characters ever on soaps. After much forced conversation between the three about Violet's baby, Sean being the father, et al Sean asks Lauren to stay with them.

New Year's Eve 2007. Marcus is in a few shots but the most entertaining is at about 3:25, when Fiz, who had too much fizz, falls down. His reaction is good fun.

The next episode available is February 4, 2008. Violet is near the end of her pregnancy and is thinking of giving birth at home. Sean hears this from Lauren and at first doesn't believe it, then gets confirmation from Violet. He's not thrilled. Marcus tries to tell him to stay out of it. Sean is worried about Violet's blood pressure, and the danger of first-time mothers giving birth at home. Violet leaves, and Jamie says if anything is upsetting her blood pressure, it's Sean.
This is from 5:30-6:25 and 8:40-9:45.
Marcus tells Sean not to nag Violet. When Sean keeps going on about home births, Marcus says he wanted a break from work, and Sean makes him feel like he's back taking his exams. Sean says Marcus must wonder why he puts up with Sean, and promises they won't talk about babies or "women's bits" for the rest of the day. 7:40-8:20.
Violet complains to Jamie about Sean's continued interference at work and how she can't take much more. Speaking of that, in this clip, Sean offers to help Violet with a box until she says it's just crisps. He tells her to go home and he'll finish her shift, but Marcus says he is taking Sean out for a pizza. After Sean leaves, Violet thanks Marcus. 6:50-7:20.
If you're brave enough, in these clips you can also enjoy the Michelle Connor baby swap story, which was so unpopular with fans that it was never mentioned again!

February 15. Sean continues to annoy Violet and Jamie with his obsession over the welfare of the unborn child. Violet and Jamie finally begin making fun of an oblivious Sean to his face in the Rovers. Only when Violet storms out does Sean realize he's annoyed them. He tries to get Marcus' help. Marcus just got off a long shift and doesn't want to hear it. Lauren goes to see Violet and Jamie and Violet believes Sean sent her to "spy." Lauren storms out. Lauren, Sean, and Marcus talk again, and Marcus says if he wants to help, then Violet's flat needs to be cleaned from top to bottom before a home birth.
:20-:55 and 7:50-8:30.

February 20. Violet and Jamie are so tired of Sean that they have decided to leave town without telling him! First step is to tell the midwife, then quit their jobs, and find another place and a job for Jamie. Violet hands in her notice at the Rovers, and just says it's for maternity leave. Jamie is greeted by Marcus and Sean, who invite him to dinner. He agrees quickly, surprising them. It's from about 8:25 to 9:00 or so.
In the next clip, not really worth putting up, Jamie tells Violet that he has bought a car and they can get ready to go. Sean says he booked a table for tomorrow night, but Jamie has to "reluctantly" cancel.

February 22. Jamie and Violet are clearing out their flat for the move no one knows about. Jamie shows Violet their new car, an orange horror she says looks like it belongs in Wacky Races. Lauren sees them and later Violet explains to Marcus and Sean that the car is for the baby. Sean thinks it's a great idea. Rovers owner Steve then stymies Violet by saying his mother, and the pub's landlady, Liz, is planning a baby shower for Violet.
Sean is on the phone with Eileen about the clothes Violet is donating to a charity shop. Violet covers by saying she's just doing what he suggested with keeping the place clean. He's happy. Violet asks Steve if her wages are ready yet. She nervously goes outside to talk to Jamie about leaving tonight, while Sean and Marcus are amused by the horrible paint color Steve's stepfather Vernon plans on using for redecorating.
3:45 to 4:20 or so, then about 6:50 to 9:00.
Violet goes into labor in the Rovers. Marcus gets to work and is the perfect midwife. She begs Sean to go get Jamie. In an unintentionally hilarious scene, Sean tries to get to Jamie, who races off in his car as soon as he sees Sean, and Sean then runs behind the car. He returns to an upset Violet, and stays with her, along with various friends in the Rovers, until she gives birth. He's in awe. This is from the start of the clip to about 4:00 and about 6:30 to 7:45. From 9:10 to the end of the clip, Violet heads to the hospital, with Sean going along. Sean gets congratulations on being a father. Marcus gently scolds Eileen and Liz for competing over who had the most difficult labor.
