If there's a thread for this, I couldn't find it.
Did anyone else watch the pilot for this new series? I missed it's live airing, because I'd gotten it in my head that it was some kind of reality show, and blown it off. But lots of folks at GayGamer were talking about how awesome it was, so I checked it out (it's up on Hulu, and free on ITunes, and various places.)
It's certainly in the mold of the many, many "be yourself" series and films that have come out over the year, but it manages to overcome that and be pretty entertaining, and it has some snazzy musical numbers. (The competing school's rendition of Amy Winehouse's "Rehab" was probably the highlight for me, but the musical number at the climax was pretty awesome too.) Most of the glee club members are nothing more than brief character sketches at this point, but the main two club members and the teacher are pretty well fleshed out by the end. Hopefully "Wheelchair Kid," "Stuttering Asian Girl," "Black Beyonce Wannabe Girl," and "Gay Kid" will be fleshed out in the regular series.
Oh, yeah, it does have a gay character, but frankly, I'm not expecting more than the usual sexually neutered gay character. Maybe I'll be surprised, though.
The only actors I recognized are the main teacher's wife, who was on "Boston Public," and the guidance counselor, who played "Charlie" on Heroes and "Charlie" on Ugly Betty the same year. How weird is that? (Oh, wait, I recognized the evil Cheerleading coach, but I couldn't place from where.) Oh, and Vincenzo from Princess Bride played the creepy, child-molesting, drug-dealing glee coach who gets booted to make an opening for the main character to take over.
Apparently, the regular series will have a lot of guest appearances from the likes of Victor Garber, Kristin Chenowith, Cheyenne Jackson, and Josh Groban. Normally I hate stunt casting, but if they have these musically talented performers actually perform, I'm down with it.
I don't think the show has a chance in hell of making it to season 2, but I'm definitely going to check it out. I know my description makes it sound like a pretty generic, by-the-numbers kind of piece, but it's really much more entertaining than it sounds on paper.

From the June 9th Gays of Our Lives column on AfterElton.com: Gay fave Kristen Chenoweth, formerly of Pushing Daisies, joins the cast of Glee in a recurring role, starting with its 5th episode. Songs from the first episode of the series are currently in the top ten most downloaded songs on iTunes. www.afterelton.com/TV/gayslives/06-09-09?page=0%2C10

I saw that, and was very happy. I'd been thinking as soon as I heard that Kristin Chenowith was going to be a guest that, given that her pilot wasn't picked up, they should bump up her role. Hopefully the character will work well and, if the show manages to survive, be bumped up. I think I'm pretty over David Kelley by this point, so I'd rather see her in Glee than another "wacky" legal dramedy from Kelley, anyway.

I saw the pilot of "Glee" it was cute, but I wasn't paying much attention as my ex-boyfriend called in the middle of it. It was good from what I saw. I like musicals and Kristen Chenowth is just adorable.

Eve and Adam Lambert will be making guest-appearances in some of the episodes! Miley Cyrus' boyfriend, Justin blah blah is in this show rite? Can't believe that disgusting brat managed to score such a hot guy.

I saw that Eve was taking a role that had been offered to Whitney Houston, who turned it down. She's probably more likely to stay sober until filming time, anyway. Oh, no I DI-N'T!

As a side note, I am going to "Broadway in Bryant Park" this week and the cast of Glee will be performing there along with members from Billy Elliot, Mamma Mia and Altar Boys performing bits from their respective shows. SQUEE.

I thought I was going to hate it, cause it's really not my type of show, or at least that's what I thought.. I just watched the first episode though to see what all the buzz was about, and I LOVED IT! I want to see more, like NOW! lol. September 16th is simply too far away

Okay, so where have I been? Just watched the pilot on Global's site and love it! Freshest and funniest new show I've seen in a long time. Can't wait to see how the freshman season unfolds.
Check your local listings because Global says it premiers Sept 9th in Canada, not Sept 16th, unless it's a repeat of the pilot and not the official series opener.

And www.globaltv.com/entertainment/shows/Glee/index.html for the Canadians out there since Fox tells me " Thank you for your interest in FOX. This episode is currently only available to viewers living in the United States." That takes me back to Queer As Folk: US days and Showtime, even though it was filmed on my doorstep.

Don't need to be on the US, because you don't need to watch it on that channel.
[[MODIFIED DUE TO A VIOLATION OF BOARD RULES]]
Those 3 sites should have multiple, high quality megavideo/wisevideo/supernovatube rips of the episodes, ready to watch usually within 12 hours, if not right after the episode has aired.

Alternate between megavideo and the others. I usually go back and forth megavideo and wisevideo (heck, if wise video is available for all episodes, just stick to it; there's not time limit to wisevid, and the quality is just as good).

Oh Glee... you are yummy goodness.
I totally enjoyed the premiere episode. I need to see it again but I actually laughed out loud a few times. Like with Finn's memory that makes him not erupt.
Loved Push It and Golddigger. I really thought the last song by Lea Michelle was great but I don't know what it's called.
Now I need to go watch it again. ;D
