Since I haven't been watching long could someone tell me what Syed did to mess up. EastEnders: Syed Masood arrives! Apr 21, 2009 Syed Masood is back and EastEnders' actor Mark Elliott reveals what he's after now. Zainab arranges a secret meeting with her son Syed. How long has he been in exile?"Four years and in that time he's only had contact with Tamwar and his mum." Why has he stayed away for so long?"Masood told him to go and never come back. He almost bankrupted his parents by stealing their money for a disastrous business deal." And that's why Zainab isn't telling Masood about their secret phone calls?"Absolutely. But Masood thinks he's upset her because she's acting so strangely." Why did Syed steal his parents' cash?"He believed he would make a lot of money. He thinks his business skills are better than they are and he wanted to impress his family." Is money one of the reasons he's back?"He's after money, but he wants to see his family again. He's genuinely missed them. He knows Tamwar and Zainab will be pleased to see him. He isn't so sure about Masood, but he's sure he can win him over."
What's Syed been doing?"He's been investing in property and says he's been very successful. His mum's impressed by his apartment and he excites her with an investment opportunity."
And she buys into it?"She tells him, 'Leave your father to me.' But Masood's not interested when she tries to talk him into financing the scheme - then he catches on she's been talking to Syed after pressing redial on her mobile."
So Masood goes to see Syed!"Yes... and Syed's forced to admit he's renting the flat as he's actually homeless and jobless." How does Masood react to that?"He's incensed when he realises Syed's trying to con more money from his family. But Syed pleads with him for help." And he ends up in the Square! So what sort of character is he?"Syed manipulates people to his own ends. He's charming, confident and reckless." Is he single?"No. He has a girlfriend who'll be joining him."
Does he fancy anyone in Walford?"He gets close to Janine. They flirt together."
Janine! How will Zainab feel about that?"She's not happy. She does a lot of meddling." Are you anything like Syed?"I am a bit older, he's 24 and I'm 29, and I am not as reckless. I don't like taking risks." |

After watching yesterday show I now thanks it's Lucy who knows about Christian and Syed. She's definitely onto something. But I doubt that she will be the blackmailer. She doesn't have a motive to harrass the Masoods--and how could she spray the graffiti on their door when she was babysitting? Besides, Marc said in a recent interview that a few residents of Walford are going to find out about Christian and Syed over the coming months, so Lucy could simply be the first in that number. Tamwar, however, was conspicuously absent from the proceedings... He tried to catch out Syed early in the episode, but Syed managed to talk his way out of that situation--frustrating, surely! |

From the new spoilers I really think that someone will blackmail Syed (and Christian) but I wonder what he/she will gain from this because S&C aren't exactly rich....

After watching yesterday show I now thanks it's Lucy who knows about Christian and Syed. Does Lucy know Syed very well? I got the impression that she knows (or at least could tell) that Christian wants Syed. She might not know the extent though. I think it would be good if she did know, that would give Christian someone to talk to about the situation. I feel for him, he can't talk to anyone except Syed, and a lot of the time I don't think Syed is really listening to how much this is hurting Christian. |

I no longer think it's Tamwar just because I don't think he has that kind of meanness in him.
I'm on the fence about Lucy. She's only a teenager (what 15 maybe) so I don't see why Christian would be discussing his love life with his teenaged niece enough for her to know what's going on with him and Syed and call Syed a "bad boy".
I suppose it still could be Janine or a vindictive James (which I just really can't see)

I no longer think it's Tamwar just because I don't think he has that kind of meanness in him. It's funny that you said that, because I too have started wondering whether Tamwar is a decoy. It seems too obvious, too easy. I've been thinking that maybe it's going to be connected in some way with the Archie and Janine versus the Mitchells storyline. I read that Ian is going to be drawn into that situation: Peggy will come to him for a loan, and he'll decide to sell the loan to Archie. The question that occurs to me is: why does he decide to sell the loan to Archie? This is wild speculation, but maybe Janine is the blackmailer (she's certainly mean enough to be!), and she uses that information to pressure Ian into passing along the loan. Maybe Ian will do so in an attempt to protect Christian? I don't know. I'm probably overthinking things. |

The person is only blackmailing Syed which is why it could still be Lucy or Tamwar  but the good news is we only have to wait until the end of the month to find out who it is but I do think it's Tam  |

Huh. I was under the impression that the affair was going to come out at the wedding. I wonder whether, with the positive response that the Christian and Syed pairing is receiving, the writers decided to extend the storyline. It looks interesting!

Syed tells someone he's gay, what if it's Amira he tells but she still wants to go through with the wedding  Still not looking forward to the wedding, I just wish they'd not gone down the root of having a doting fiancee in the first place because Syed's story is already complicated enough |

I love the new spoilers because like gaysoapfan, I read it like a good sign for this storyline to be front and central for quite a while. Besides I think there is a possibility that Syed tells Amira about Christian before the wedding and they decide anyway to keep going on with the marriage.
If you look at the spoilers pictures you can see that they're both seeming unhappy. I think that if Amira was still in the dark during her wedding day she would be blithely happy.

I think Amira's a smart girl and she already senses that there is something wrong though I so like Amira I really do wish that EE had resisted the cliche of having the closeted gay man having a beautiful, loyal & clueless fiancee, it's already been done to death in every other soap It would have been far more entertaining seeing Syed come up with reasons why his Mother's "perfect d-in-l" candidates weren't suitable  Of course he could have told her the truth that he's into biceps not boobs ;D |

I'm intrigued about the new spoilersl. I'm specially curious about Christian reaction to the wedding, I doubt he will be pleased about this turn of events, I even wonder if he will try to break his thing with Syed before the ceremony, but I think he's too much in love with him so I doubt they will be able to stay away from each other for long ;D.
Anyway there will be a lot of angst and longing stares and unexpressed feelings and I can't wait for it ;D.

Honestly, if Syed continues with the wedding and actually marries Amira, I hope that Christian cuts him off completely. He doesn't deserve to sit by and watch Syed marry and start a family. I want him to be happy and to be treated openly with love and respect. For me his speech to Syed before the dinner said it all (can't remember exact words lol but something like...) "What I have is someone who is too ashamed to be called my partner".  Christian, you deserve so much more. There are so many men out there who would love to stand by your side. Go find one. |
