I agree.
Everyone is coming down so hard on Christian but he is defending himself and I don't think he should let Syed think that what he had done to Christian is some tiny thing that should just be ignored.
Being closeted or confused about your sexuality does not give you the right to be a monster and just do and say anything you feel like. It's not like Syed is addicted to drugs or was drunk when he kissed Christian. He's a grown man who made choices that have consequences and he needs to act like it.
I personally hate this idea that because we are gay, we are obligated to keep someone else's secrets and put up with all kinds of nasty behavior from someone else because they are closeted.
I don't think Christian is mad because Syed kissed him and took it back. I don't believe Christian would have even thought of outing Syed. It's the threats and name calling and nasty mean-spirited things that Syed said (which were completely unnecessary) that got Christian mad.
Syed has put Christian is this awful position of having to work with the Masood family everyday and with Amira and still put up with Syed's crap.
People keep saying they barely knew each other but that's not really true. They were friends and business partners and had known each other for months.
Syed crossed a line and instead of saying he was sorry or caring about Christian's feelings at all, he immediately went into defensive nasty threatening mode and refused to have even one civil conversation with Christian.
Whether Syed is gay or not, whether he comes out or not, he owes Christian an apology and he should take back the nasty things he said.
I'm not unsympathetic to struggling to come out and I think Syed could redeem himself even if he decides not to come out.
But if you make the decision to be closeted then you need to not going around kissing men and winding them up while your girlfriend is making marriage plans.
You can't have your cake and eat it to.

Thanks for the new clip! Yes, JEALOUSY!! I LOVE IT! The waiter is cute. And I'm glad Christian spends no time in moving on and enjoying his life. It's not like it's not worth waiting for Syed, but if Syed is clearly in deep denial, instead of being pushy and pinning for Syed to wake up, why not at the meantime go look for someone else and have fun abit. Who knows, Christian may find someone better. |

Should be interesting as this is a rare point of view that I have ever seen in any soap. I'm surprised you say this jnn111 as the whole of this seasons Fisica O Quimica dealt with Quino's conflict with his religious beliefs. Yet Syed's storyline is unique where the Muslim religious beliefs are concerned. Sorry, don't know about Quino's story line. Just Fer and David's. Like you said, it is unique because it deals with the Muslim religion. I don't really follow soap story lines unless they involve a gay story line. Although, I do watch Eastenders here in the U.S. on my local public television station and it is about 6 or 7 years behind. |

July 14th: Meanwhile, Zainab's furious that Syed's painting has been damaged. As Syed goes to explain how he and Christian caused damage by play fighting, Christian interjects and claims that it was Bobby's fault. Zainab's livid and insists that she'll have words with Jane. Despite the boys' best efforts, Zainab and Jane bump into each other, but the truth is eventually revealed. As Syed begins to mend the painting, Christian tries to help. The mood lifts slightly and Christian decides to paint over the original in a bid to fix it. Syed yells that the painting's been ruined and that all his life he's wanted to be an artist. Christian quickly apologises, but Syed grins: "Gotcha…" Christian agrees, takes Syed by the hand and invites him back to his flat. Syed refuses to talk to Stacey and when Amira arrives, she's put out to hear from Stacey that he was rejecting her calls because he was talking to her. Amira storms off. Later, Syed talks to his mother in the café and she tells him to be true to himself. Syed arranges for Zainab and Christian to be in The Vic at 6.30pm. They eagerly await Syed and Amira's arrival and when they turn up, Christian tells Syed to be himself, convinced he's about to admit that he's gay. He's devastated, though, when Syed proposes to Amira… July 17th: Meanwhile, Christian leaves a voice message on Syed's phone asking if they can meet to talk. Finding Syed at the unit, Christian claims that he's not angry about Syed and Amira's engagement, but warns that marrying her won't change who he is. Syed's adamant that he's doing the right thing. Zainab and Amira walk in full of the joys of spring and ask Christian to be involved in the wedding plans. Christian again attempts to persuade Syed to rethink his plans, but to no avail. Syed tells his mother that he'd rather Christian weren't involved, but Zainab's insistent - the more the merrier. At the Masoods', Christian's in a bad mood as everyone discusses the impending nuptials and Syed's scared that he'll reveal all about their affair. I think Syed represents some men that have gay feelings but bury them extremely deeply and have a family and children. They feel that they have power over these feelings and can be "straight." They eventually come out later in life. I think this may be an older generation as the younger generation is more opt to come out earlier. I do believe there are still individuals out there like Syed and like that pointed out with the religion aspect added.
That's just my opinion and I'm loving their chemistry and interaction.

i think my biggest problem with the storyline is Christian is so INTO Syed - but why? i dunno, it seems to have come out of nowhere, they kissed and suddenly Christian is totally hot for him. i wish they had built it up a bit more.

Thanks for the new clip! It's getting interesting. But do you think Syed purposely asked Christian to help him so Christian can be late for his date? Coz I don't really get that vibe. I thought it's just a coincidence. I like the "passive-aggressive" description Christian mentioned. It's so true. I can't believe Syed is in such deep denial. I guess why he's so afraid this time despite having ONS for 4 times is because he has true feelings for Christian as opposed to the previous "No Love, Just Sex" relationships. Why do I have a feeling that they may not end up together? I've got a song to describe Syed & Christian perfectly. I guess the writers do not want to invest in both of them given they are highly unlikely to end up together (which is a pity I guess). So I guess they are making the viewers to take up the idea that Christian is so into him because they work together everyday and feelings develop (a background story). And that Christian is not getting any younger (he has mentioned that previously at the start) and he is in search of the right one. And given Syed is such a nice guy, always helping Christian, I guess Christian thinks Syed is the one for him. And also it may be a possible that Christian is just helping Syed to be honest with himself. Or maybe Christian sees Syed as a challenge (which I don't think it's for this case). Hehehe. And someone on youtube mentioned this particular part of the conversation being foreshadowing (which gets me thinking too): C: Sorry about the picture. S: A bit of tape, no one will notice.
