Yes, it was rushed, but still sweet and heartfelt. I love vulnerable Kieron, but I hope they don't used that to say that John Paul feels more guilty than in love. I think it's possible for John Paul to be in love, and to be bothered by all that Kieron has sacrificed. Don't worry, I think a reference to the big red stamp in the opening sequence would do. We all can give our impression of what the stamp meant, but considering the fact that it melts, that could mean that JP has nothing to feel guilty about. We could also compare that scene to a similar one that aired during the JPC/Sarah storyline, and we can spot some differences, such as: JPK are not in a secret relationship like JPC were, and they aren't lying to or hurting others like JP and Craig did to Sarah and Spike. The stamp probably also shows that JP isn't forcing Kieron into anything. Kieron is in this relationship because he wants to be in it.

IMO, JP HAS nothing to feel guilty about and Kieron IS in this relationship because he wants to be in it. But the fact that JP is convincing himself of this and the stamp "guilty" written al over his face, I took to mean (and I am sure I am not going to convince anyone here but I'll just give you my reasons) that JP nevertheless IS feeling guilty about it. You can FEEL guilty without BEING guilty. That is what the stamp shows to me. Even though he can't be reproached for anything, JP is feeling guilty for what Kieron had to give up to be in this relationship.

I think it's normal for JP to feel guilty, but that doesn't mean his feelings for kieron aren't genuine.

I think it's normal for JP to feel guilty, but that doesn't mean his feelings for kieron aren't genuine. Do you like your "word" in word pie or a hot steaming cup of word? I can give you both because I totally agree with you. People are more than capable of feeling multiple emotions all at the same time. The dogged belief that if someone feels guilt for tempting a person away from their calling/career/life than they possibly cannot feel love for that same person is ridiculous.

It is normal, and he does feel guilty and I think his feelings for Kieron ARE genuine. I never said that they weren't. But, for the reasons I explained, I also think the proposal is motivated by more than just his love for Kieron. I.e. feelings of guilt and an urge to prove to the world how serious they are. Like all people JP is capable of having multiple motivations. And part of that motivation is guilt, is my interpretation. And that, to me, does not bode well, as it fits in with the spoilers that JP gets cold feet.

I quite liked today, but it was a bit rushed... But it was sweet anyway. And Kieron looks adorable... ;D

Sadly I also believe the proposal was motivated by JP's need to prove to everyone else how serious his love for Keiron is. The JP/K storyline is now becoming a desperate story of acceptance, as events are unfolding it seems (to me) that they are running this rollercoaster whereby they feel the need to prove to all & sundry that - they can be & they are - in love and as such are taking more & more dramatic steps to prove it. I would have preferred it if they had just said "hey, we're happy - fuck what the rest of you think" There has been a lot of talk about happy they are as a couple - sadly I think they are trying to be happy as a couple but there are a million insecurites behind each of them and it is these insecurities which is driving them headlong into (if the spoilers are to be believed) the abyss.

I agree that both are very vulnerable and insecure right now, and for this reason, they probably shouldn't be getting engaged. i also agree that JP's proposal came from a place of both love, and a need to see kieron happy. But, I think they are happy together, and love one another. I love the way they talk things out, so hopefully they can figure out a way to deal with their insecurities. I think this could be a very good storyline, but unfortunately, after two more episodes we have another three week black hole and then the story will be concluded over the course of just three short weeks. I want to see JPK deal with this as a couple, and for them to realize that they love one another, and that they need to take the time to be a couple. I want to see Kieron deal with his depression and become happy, and I want to see JP deal with his insecurities. But, I think the writers have other plans, and I fear that Kieron's feelings may just be used as a plot device. I hope this doesn't happen, but I fear it will.

OMG - I just watched the clip. I'm on Cloud Nine (just like John-Paul and Kieron). Both of them are so freaking happy. I love it. I love it. I love it.

I love this clip. They are both glowing so much. Niall is still evil, but even he didn't seem as evil as usual. John Paul seemed to be worried that Kieron wasn't as gung ho as he seemed. I think it's interesting that it's Kieron, not John Paul who wanted to hold off on telling other people about the engagement.
I still wanted to see dancing, and kissing on the dance floor, but this was great too.

Finally got a chance to watch it. Very cute. The excitement about the engagement was lovely to see. Both men were happy and almost bouncing in their joy in the clip. It was great to see them so happy with each other and with life.

I just wanna say, all this JPK happiness and screentime strikes me as a perfect example of the polar bear/quiet before the storm example.
(that characters get their most and most romantic airtime right before something is gonna come and probably rip them apart)

So, you think that (spoiler in white) Craig is the polar bear and/or storm, that's going to come in and mess things up for John-Paul and Kieron? ;D I just wanna say, all this JPK happiness and screentime strikes me as a perfect example of the polar bear/quiet before the storm example. I'm not sure, but has Hollyoaks ever received a "down arrow" from the folks at AfterElton? www.afterelton.com/bgwe/08-15-08?page=0%2C5ATWT/HOLLYOAKS/FORBIDDEN LOVE: Given how little we’ve seen of the gay couples on our favorite soaps lately, I’m starting to suspect the guys have all run off together to spend the week in a Fire Island summer share house. Which would be awesome, like the all-gay version of Big Brother I’ve been dying for.

E4 made a mistake a few days ago and aired next Tuesday's episode. Someone uploaded the JPK scenes to youtube. Here's the beginning of the end, with scenes that make no sense when compared to the actions and behavior of John Paul and Kieron the last time we saw them on screen. www.youtube.com/watch?v=CxMzvoG1pNk&eurl=http:
