Chris Geere will be returning to Waterloo Road as Matt Wilding for the show's eighth season, which will air later this year.
Frankly, I don't know why he'd come back. The show barely used him the first time around. Maybe he needs the work.....

The last time I saw him he was showing his very cute ass in some Channel 4 comedy. I guess that was canned (no pun intended)?
I never knew why they had the character just disappear. At least that will be acknowledged. I wonder if his boyfriend will return.

He and his boyfriend broke up early in Matt's last season with the show. That's why Matt started partying and drinking to forget the loss.

LMAO.. like they would do the gay characters justice this time around.. why? They screwed up with both Matt and now with Josh. Finding up new "excuses" so Josh won't kiss his so-called boyfriend. Are they really together though? Seems more like friends to me. Why wouldn't he want to touch his bf? Pathetic if you ask me!

I thought Chris Geere was hot but it's true that his character's gay relationship was given the short shrift by the show. I don't know if they will improve on that front this time around but hopefully they do. I never understood why they just wrote him out without any explanation whatsoever. The characters just behaved like he'd never existed. I did miss Matt when Josh came out; I thought Josh's dad might have sought advice from Matt but of course he wasn't on that season.

It seems Matt's storyline this season is having a baby with his best friend Rosie. I was only glancing through, so not sure if that is the extent of his story, but I certainly did not see any boyfriend.
