carmelabcn you give me hope
i will work my way through evama's clips and send vibes to Bernat to return and finish up the season with El Cor so that Max and Iago can be reunited properly.
In the mean time, it's nice watching Iago become a part of the community. Gonzalo needs a distraction. Where's Edu when you need him...?

Carmela, thanks so much for your post today, it was terrific. I felt so sorry for Iago, and indeed Marc did a great job in those scenes. Reminded me of Berta's funeral. Good old Beni, he can be the comic relief sometimes and the heartfelt, caring father in others. They chose a good looking actor for Iago's father as you would expect. Where they go with this story line should be very interesting. My youtube clips of 1706 & 1707 should be up overnight and will get Fridays out as soon as it downloads, along with some screen caps.

Thanks Carmela and Bernatfan!
From what I saw (thanks to Bernatfan), El Comisario was pretty good and I liked Marc in it. I guess we just have to wait and see what's next for him and El Cor.

EP 1708
SCENE 1- AT MARGA'S STAND
MARGA: What do you want? IAGO: The same as always MARGA. The same as always? Arent you going there the past week? IAGO: I go there always when I have spare time, and lately I had much of it. Besides, tulips wither very early. MARGA: If you want a branch that turns out well to you, test with carnations. IAGO: Tulips were the prefered flowers of Berta. MARGA: I tell you it because they will turn out better. Carnations also are pretty. The red ones are the best. IAGO: Yes, but Berta wasnt too much of flowers, nor earrings, and things like these. She liked tulips very much and lways when I'm going there, I take her a branch. MARGA: Nothing to say, white tulips! And what did you at the end with Max, did you go somewhere? IAGO (very sad): No, at the end he couldnt lt NGO's people hanged. MARGA: Sorry! You miss him very much, dont you? IAGO: Yes, but we talk often by Messenger MARGA: Sure when he found a little oportunity to escape, he will come to see you, man!
Then, Gonzalo passes by. Igo wants to talk with him, but Gonzalo doesnt stop. Iago is sad, very sad. After, in the cemetery, Iago lets the brach of white tulips in Berta's grave, and cries (and we also with him!). He's watched by a man with several dice, his father! This man follows him until Beni's stand and wathches the scene. At the end, we see his face.
SCENE 2- AT BENI's STAND
BENI: Hey, guy, what are you doing, an order? IAGO: I have gone to th cemetery BENI: Ah, yes, you are right. Have you take lunch? IAGO (who follows very sad): I dont feel like. BENI: Eat something, if dont, you wont grow up, ha, ha! IAGO: I miss her very much, Beni. BENI: Damm! I dont know if going very often to the cemetery to take flowers is the best for you, I mean, you always come back rotten from the cemetery, Iago! IAGO: I need to go there, Beni. You can kçtink I'm crazy, but when I go there, I explain her my things and after I feel much better BENI: So today thet hasnt worked, look what a face you have! IAGO: Because, I dont know, Beni, everything is a shit! BENI: Stop, stop, stop! Dont say this, OK! Think on that movie, look always the wright side of the life. For exemple, think Max will come back soon. IAGO: Really? BENI: Damm it! Of course he will come back! What are you saying now, Iago? IAGO: If he doesnt come not even to pass some days in Xmas! BENI: Because he couldnt macht it, Iago! But he misses us very much, and you know it, specially to you! And dont talk with me this way another time, eh? IAGO: Damm-it, Beni! I always think on it, I has my mother in the cemetery by my fault, and if Max didnt fall in love whith me, Clara wasnt in jail. And now Max is in Africa! I dont know to do well anything, Beni.
BENI: Iago, listen, you have a hearth bigger than your chest! Think on all what you have got until now. Not everybody do it! IAGO: To work at the fruits stand! This is what I have got! BENI: And a new family. Perhaps you have Max in the other side of the world, but you have me here! IAGO: Beni!
They hug, and we cry again! Beni now is reallyIago's father, not his biological one, Abel, who is watching the scene.
Well, here the story line is about fatherhood, about "adoptive" fathers better than biological ones. This is why I think this story line could end with the adoption of an african child by Max and Iago. Well, things arent now in the best condition to do it, but nobody cant deny to >Iago the abylity to give love, and he knows very well what is to grow up without a father. Like Beni said, he has a hearth bigger than his chest !

I'm not sure how long Bernat's 'hiatus' from El Cor will last for the future, but I think it would be a shame for Marc to not have the chance and opportunity to work on another storyline, in which Iago may or may not find himself involved in another romance, even without knowing what's going on in Max's mind (while he's in another country). I do believe in "true love", but I also don't think that someone's life (especially their romantic one) should be placed "on hold" until someone comes back for them, especially when we're talking about a soap opera. I agree with darcolover55, I'm on the team that thinks that Iago should go on with his life (specially if Bernat has no intentions to coming back to El Cor). As a viewer I don't like to spend the next months watching Iago only crying over Max or selling vegetables. What a waste for such a beautiful and complex character! I guess that it's not so challenging for Marc either. If you add this to the rumour that maybe this would be the last series of El Cor, the situation is even worse, cause I'd like to see a character I love so much happy in the end, with or without Max.

Well, we dont know if Max will come back, but the thing that is coming back is Iago's past!
In yesterday's episode, talking with Sergi about Joel, Iago talked another time about being careful with prejudices against someone who has been in jail. I will translate the dialogue, because in the official forum there are different opinions (as if can be compared a thief with a harasser.
And the spoiler for February 2 is this:
"En Radovan és clar: o en Iago troba en Jota o en Beni prendrà mal"
Radovan is clair: or Iago finds Jota, or Beni will have something bad
And Max is in Africa!

Hi everybody!
Spoilers seems to take Iago's story to talk about the problems for the rehabilitation of criminals (as Iago was), and also about how close to Beni is now Iago.
Iagos's conversation with Sergi (ep. 1709) and yesterday's episode with Beni (and Forques) is interesting for both things.
EPISODE 1709- AT RAFA'S STAND
IAGO: What do you want? We're closing. SERGI: No, no, no. Really I want to talk with you. About Marga. IAGO: What do you want me to explain you, about Marga? SERGI: You know more tran mi about her, you work by her side. And you know Joel. He works here, in the market. IAGO: And what do you want to know? SERGI: Joel had spent one year in jail for having ill-treated Marga. You knew that, didnt you? (Iago says yes with his head) So, it seems he's bothering her again. IAGO: Does it seem it or does he bother her? SERGI: Everything show he went into her house twice. If we could prove it, he would pass a good time in jail, IAGO (telling yes with his head another time): I hardy know Joel, but Rafa talked with him and, acording to Joel, Marga is a manipulator and a paranoid, do you know? Seh reported him for getting the flat they had bought. SERGI: I know what Joel says, but I believe Marga, and also the judge does it. IAGO: I dont know it, I dont know nothing, but I know that if you pass a seaon in jail, you cant go into the street without someone to point out you, and what you say must be proved. SERGI: The fact trat there werent any proof doenst mean that he wasnt guilty. I only try to do well may work. I cant do int badly another time. IAGO: This is why, because Clara, this is the reason to protrect so much Marga. Sergi, dont mix things! SERGI: I didnt know to do Clara to trust in me. If I would do, things would be different. I think sometimes I would to give up the corps [of police]. IAGO: Sergi, you are a good cop. Clara and Max owe their life to you. SERGI: A ruined life. If I had done well the things, Clara wouldnt be in jail and Max would be here with you. IAGO: Do you want and advice? Dont try to repair with Marga what went badly with Clara. If you do it and you are wrong with Joel, you never forgave yourself in all your life.

Spoiler for Feb. 5:
"En Beni ja té la cançó, però la seva veu no agrada"
Beni has now his song, but his voice is disliked.
Well, this is about what Forques proposed him in ep. 1711.
Forques (who is gay) is a music producer, an old friend of Beni, a member of "Els imparables", Beni's old band. He proposed Beni to participate in a musical talents quiz. He tried to persuade him telling him that music is essential in his life and that he ought to have many songs in a drawer. He only needs to send 2 songs to the program. Forques is member of the panel and Beny only needs his song to be a litlle good to be choosen. The winner's prize is to be produced.
In the second Beni's scene of this episode, Beni talked with Iago about Forques's offer. He says it's a quiz for new talents and he's too much old to do it. but Iago (who is becoming a good adviser) told him that someone never is too much old to do what he likes. So, Iago tried to convince Beni because music is for him the most importat thing in the life. Beni answers music is for youth, is the past, and "the most important thing in my life are Max and you".
In the third scene, Iago got something from the ATM. Beni thought that was cash, and asked Iago if he's taking him to diner somewhere. But there were two tickets for a concert of "Vandals", a band that played from the Beni's youth. In fact, Beni learned to play guitar with them. Beni remembered his youth and was excited. So Iago and Forques have reason: music is a very important thing for him. Iago reminded him his own words: he must to do his own life, dont think only in Max and him, Iago! And music is his life.
Spoilers say the man who is following Iago, and saw this wonderful scene, will talk with him. His name is Abel and writers want we to think he's Iago's father, but is he the same person that this "Joan" (a very common name in Catalonia, as John; Abel is uncommon), with whom Beni has problems? Has something to do with Radovan, who blackmails Iago with to do harm to Beni?
Soon we will know!

EP 1713
Scene 1- Beni and Iago in La Fusteria
Beni is listening music with headphones and singing
IAGO: You have been listening music during all the day. I dont know how you dont get tired. BENI: Listen, listen (he gives one headphone to Iago and follows singing) IAGO: This music, is it what you composed when you separated? BENI: The best of "Els Imparables" (and follows singing) IAGO: You can see, Beni, the concert of the past day woke up the rocker you have inside you. BENI: A little, yeah! It made me remember... the old days. Even I called Forques. IAGO: Are you decided? BENI: No, no, I called him for finding out all about the Musical Talents Contest. I dont know, I dont say not, but I have thought very much, eh? I have thought very much and I have said: "Beni, it cant be you pass the days doing churros and nothin else. You have finally to be brave and decided and get out the worm you have inside you". IAGO: So, what are you doing? BENI: I dont see silly that thing of Forques. IAGO: I find it a focking good idea! BENI: I agree, ha, ha! I have already forsaken enough dreams, do you know what I want to say? And if I have past triumphantly by the advertising world, by the contests world... IAGO (smiling): Of course, Beni!!! Let's go, for Beni! (they toast, while Abel/Joan goes into La Fusteria) BENI: Listen, I have explained to you the concert "Els Imparables" did in Zeleste? (Zeleste was the most important pop concerts hall in Barcelona in the 70's/80's)
SCENE 2: AT RAFA'S STAND
(In the series cast, the name of the man who followed Iago is Abel; it is suposed to be his true name, but he says Iago his name is Joan; he's lying; so i also call him Abel)
ABEL: Iago? Are you Iago Vilches? IAGO: Yes. Do we know each other? ABEL: Damm it, you have grown up very much! Last time I saw you, you was tall like this (until the top of his leg). My nime is Joan Sala, I'm a friend of your mother. IAGO: My mother? ABEL: I juts have come back from foreing lands and I'm looking forward to see her again (Iago becomes sad) What is happening? IAGO: My mother died ABEL: I didnt know anything about it
SCENE 3- IN PERIS
ABEL: All this time I have been in the USA, in Boston. In fact, in a little lillage near Boston. I had a little business. But Dora died. Dora was my wife. I decided to come back. And I'm here, after almost 15 years. IAGO: You ougth to find all very changed ABEL: More than I thought. This is why I thought I was aided by contacting the friends I had before IAGO: And you thought in Berta ABEL: I have laughed very much with your mother. We past always good times. One time I had gone with her to buy clothes for you. You was 3 or 4 years old. I remember she choosed a blue pullover with a drawing. It costed her one week's wage. IAGO: It was one of muy more prefered. My mother never talked me about you, nor about her friends. Abel: She had a good group, she did she was liked (Iago is sad) Sorry, can I ask you how did she die? IAGO: Yes, it was... There was a theft, she wasnt involved in it, but someone fired and she recived a shot. ABEL: I'm sorry, I didnt expected it. IAGO: It's difficult to think she isnt any more (very sad) ABEL: I have enough bothered you by now. It will be the best thing I was going out (he writes a note). This is muy nomber's phone, if you wants someday to talk with me. IAGO: Thanks! (he looks at the note) ABEL: Goodbye! Iago doesnt say goodbye, he has tears in his eyes, and is thoughtful.
SCENE 4- IN PERIS, LATER
Iago is siting in the same place, looking at the note. Beni goes into. IAGO: You have come quickly! BENI: Yes, after you called me, I have got a taxi IAGO: And how did you go with Forques? BENI: Ah! Well, well, well! He explained to me the cotest rules. He told me soon it will be a casting and, as he's a panel's member, they will choose me if I do something well. IAGO: So, you will apply BENI: At the moment, I have to compose 2 songs to interpret before the panel IAGO: Congratulations! BENI: And what about you? Because by phone you have a voice... What is it about, this man? He did you to think in Berta, didnt he? IAGO: He explained me things, Beni. He talked about her as if she was yet alive. BENI: Poor man, he didnt think it IAGO: He seemed to be very upset. They ought to be closed friends BENI: Did he give to you his nomber's phone? IAGO: Yes, I dont know, Beni, all this thing is as if it stired something inside me BNI: Listen, Iago, take it by its good side. This man, as he was Berta's friend, ia a way to recover her a little, I dont know, to know things about her, anectotes, memories of her youth IAGO: Yes, he told me he knew her very well BENI: If he knew her, he also ought to know your father IAGO: Beni, my father was a shit swine BENI: Iago, if you was very few years old when he leaved! IAGO: What he did to my mother... I'm sure if I saw him now, I would do a fucking slap for having leaved her BENI: In spite of all the bad things he did to you both.... IAGO: No, Beni, no! I dont want to know anything about him, by now nor ever!

So, was that Beni's apartment we saw in today's (Monday) episode? Was there an explanation for the change? And how long will the "just friends" hold up for Gonzalo/Iago?

DOROTHY, yes! It's Beni's apartment! But it's very changed! It's strange, isnt it? In the official forum we are talking about it. It seems view from a different angle, with an african decoration. And no kitchen! And several armchairs! (We hope they are used by Max and Iago! ) The explanation given to all the changes is that Beni has changed. I will put the translation of the conversation Iago/Abel (Joan) (when I could) because is interesting, Iago is discovering very nice things about his mother. Iago seems to be happy, doesnt he? Gonzalo says he's talking a lot. The essence of their dialogue is Gonzalo agrees them to be only friends. I also will translate it. And we all hope, like you, Dorothy, they didnt be another thing! CHERIOS, yes, the man in the photo (who seems to be young Abel/Joan) is very similar to Iago (another topic of the official forum)! His father! But he asked Iago about the dice. Is it to know his son's reaction to him? We dont know it now!

I'm glad they changed Beni's apartment. That cold sterile look it had when he was the big shot businessman just wasn't the Beni we know. I'm wondering if they still even have Max's bedroom or if they used the space for one of the new sets this season. We have not seen it since the last time we saw Max and Enric.

You're right, bernatfan, the new set is much more "Beni" than the one we saw at the end of last season. Drastically different, though. I'm not sure we'll ever see Max's room again -- as much we'd enjoy a bedroom scene with Max and Iago (of course, first Max would have to COME BACK). I guess we could see just Iago in the bedroom. At least the new set suggests we'll see a lot more of Iago and Beni. And that's good.

Bernatfan, Dorothy, I agree, Beni's apartment now is as he's now. Iago said to Joan (Abel) it seemed an "operation room", and Beni is now "recupered". Iago has now good sprits! And everybody wants to see Max and Iago in their bedroom, but I dont know if we will see it. But, instead, I think the armchair in wich Iago sat yesterday, it's like a rocking chair and I think it can be useful for them (and for us to see them!).
Well, this is the translation of several Iago's scenes of ep. 1714 (monday).
IAGO AND GONZALO IN PERIS
IAGO (gy phone): Beni, damm, this sounds fucking well! Not, of course, I swear you! Listen, if he wanted to creeb you, you would know it! NOT!!! (he laughs). Follow this way, it's sure you will win! Come on! Goodbye! (laughing) NBELSON: Was he Beni? IAGO: Yes, he's very happy with all about the contest. From he started with it, he doesnt stop composing songs. NELSON: Tell him to pass here for me to teach him how to do the Cuban "son" [music], ha, ha! IAGO: I will tell him! (Gonzalo comes into) Hi! GONZALO: Hi, Nelson! Do you serve me a pineaple juice and a piece of omelette? NELSON: Let's go! iago: Can we talk? GONZALO: Talk! Strictly, we are already talking IAGO: No, Gonzalo, I know it, I'm sorry about what happened. I would like us to turn to be friends GONZALO: Friends! IAGO: Yes, friends. Look, sometimes there are people with whom you get on, you feel good, but there are difficult circumstancies, and all are complicated, and... I dont know, but I would like not to give up to all these people whith whom I feel good, with whom I'm well, and with whom I can share some things, so I would like to follow seing you. If it's posible! GONZALO: What is it happening to you today, that you are so much talking? IAGO: And you and me, we get on together very much! And we talked about everything and with you, I laughed very much. GONZALO: So do I, what do you think? (both of them smile and shake hands) But only friends, dont you? Iago says yes with his head.
IAGO WITH RAFA IN RAFA'S STAND
Rafa wants to visit the southern French monasteries looking for Isabeleta, who is in one of them trying to find herself because she's very confused (men, women? and all that about religion, sin, etc).
Very vigoriusly, Iago advises him to leave her alone because it's what she needs. And he dont need her as a worker, in fact, she worked at the fruits stand because Rafa wanted to aid her. And she doesnt want to have anything with him another time.
So Beni arrives and asks Iago to do two orders because he's now busy with all about the contest songs. Iago answers he arranged to meet Joan, so he cant do it.

TRANSLATION OF JOAN (ABEL)/IAGO CONVERSATIONS IN EP. 1714 WALKING IN THE STREETAbel: The shop didnt go well, I was lucky I could sell it. Iago: And what did you do? Abel: I had done many contacts, and I found a job as a public relations Iago (smiling): It's a good job, isnt it? Abel: I thought so. Then it was the time Dora died, and... Iago: Yes, it's a dirty trick when you loose somebody you love Abel: It's really true, I loved her too much. And then the crisis arrived and I havent there anything or anybody. So I decided to come back and set up a little business Iago: And have you started to look at somethin? Abel (stops before a bar): Wait a moment, it was here Iago: This was the bar where you worked? Abel: Where I knew your mother. There was many time ago, but it rather has changed. Iago: And she also came here Abel: Almost everyday, whith her group of friends. They were 8 or 9. She was the soul of the group Iago: You knew all of them Abel As times goes by, I ended knowing all of them. Your mother was the best of all. She stood out. She was generous, amusing... and very disciplinated in her studies! She wanted to go to the University. She wanted to study Philology Iago: Really? Abel: Didnt you know it? Iago: I didnt! Abel: In this time, she never stopped writing, tales, poems... Situations she thought. She didnt stop. I remember it because she finished the napkins and after, I had to put them another time. Come on! (they go into the bar and Abel shows him a panel with photos). When I worked here, I toke photos to the people that came here and I hanged them Iago: It seems they hasnt changed the tradition Abel: I dont know all those people. Here, there is one of the group! This is me [but we dont see who he shows, if he's the man who is at Berta's side, that seems like Iago] Iago: You hardly seems to him! Abel: There were many time past! Do you know who is this woman? Iago: Berta! (We see Abel's finger over the youth Berta's photo) IN BENI'S APARTMENTAbel: The apartment is nice! Iago: You would have seen it 3 months ago! Beni worked in publicity and design and almost converted it in an operating room. But he's already recovered (he takes to Abel Berta's memories box) Abel: Have you found it? Iago: This is all what I have from Berta (opens the box) Abel: This are you (takes a photo: Iago when was a child) Iago: A day when we climbed the Tibidabo Abel: You had Berta's smile (with a photo of young Berta) Iago: This lady here is my great-grandmother. I didnt get to know my grandparents Abel: Here there is your name! Iago: These are my milk teeth. Mi mother save them when they falled Abel: And this? Iago: A die Abel: But it must have a meaning Iago: A shit die Abel: And why did she shave it? Iago: Perhaps she found it. I dont know. Look, this one... (Beni goes into), Hi, Beni, look, this is Joan Sala Beni: Ah, ah! You should be Berta's friend! Nice to meet you! (they shake hands) Iago: I was showing him things of my mother Beni: Ah! I have interromped you! Abel: In fact, I'm coming out Beni: No, no.. Iago: So I'm going with you Beni: Iago! I want to play for you two songs (to Abel) It's because I apply to a Musical Talents Contest with the guitar, I dont know if I explain myself Iago: Beni, do you mean if we do it later? Beni: No, no! Sure you have yet to talk abut many things Abel: Nice to meet you! Goodbye! Beni: So do I Iago: Goodbye, Beni (they go out) Beni: Goodbye! (Beni is thoughtful, a bit sad, and sighs): Ah!

Hi! With today's episode begins our suffering about Iago and Beni! And Iago takes his leather jacket, as his badIago times! And I'm following Iago's episodes of this week. Ep. 1716, conversation Iago/Beni in their home:Iago: Beni, hi! Good morning! Beni: I was waiting you to wake up. Listen this! It's something I have made, ha, ha! (he plays his guitar) What? Does it sound, or doesnt it? Iago: I'm not musician, but it sounds well to me. Beni: Come on, dont say silly damm things! Music havent to like only to musicians, it have to like everybody! Iago But without lyrics! Beni: You have reason! It hasnt lyrics. A good music without good Lyrics... I hope I could do some well worthy lyrics. Iago: And what will they be about? Beni: I dont know. In this case, strong emotions are what deserve it. Look Freddy Mercury, his best songs were what he did when he knew he was dying Iago: But this is very sad, isnt it? Beni: It's an exemple! I think when you have this kind of feelings, you let yourself go. And it's when it goes better, I dont know if I explain myself. Iago: And why dont you think in Max? Beni: You would do good lyrics thinking in Max. I wouldnt. Love is a great topic. Iago (smiling): Man, you have got your story with Pilar! You could it (he does as if he plays guitar and sings): "Jo tenia una carmanyola que.." Tell me a word that rythme with "carmanyola". Beni: "Jo tenia una carmanyola plena de fricando/ Me la donava la Pilar per guanyar-se el meu amor" ha, ha! Iago (appaluding): It's very good! Beni: I have to think about it, because I have to do clean with her Iago: Dont have you talked about yet? Beni: I have to do it. I hang my head in shame. I put my foot in it very fucking deeply. Iago: Talk with her and shake it off! Beni says yes with his head I like this mention to Freddy Mercury. I remember specially the song Mercury composed for the Olimpic Games of Barcelona'92, "Barcelona". He sang it with the Catalan soprano Montserrat Caballé, and did it for the opening ceremony of the Games, but.... he died few months before!
I put a link with the song. Abel said to Iago that Barcelona has changed very much in 15 years. This is true. After the Olimpic Games, Barcelona is very different. This is why Freddy Mercury is remembered. One of his best songs (as Beni said) is "Barcelona":

I know this is a bit off topic but what's up with Merce and Nelson?
They are such a cute couple and I always like Merce and Nelson is adorable.
Why do they have to hide from Fidel?
Is it because Nelson works for Peris?
