And now, the third scene of episode 1695. Beni and Iago are in the churros stand. Iago is eating a meal Gonzalo gave him.

PILAR: Well, goodbye!
IAGO: Goodbye!
(Beni stands up and Iago laughs)

IAGO: You couldnt get rid of her easy!
BENI: Yes, yes, you can laugh, but I think I'm not the only to be in a mess.

And then, Iago looks at the dish he ate, and to Beni, and he realize why Gonzalo brings him the dishes (and his expression tells us he dislikes it!)

Also (spoiler alert!!!!) in synopsis Eli recovers and has a vision. I always thought the scenes with Max & Eli were so sweet, they would have made a very cute couple.

Meidocfan, I like Eli, too. They haven't given her anything to do this season except fret occasionally over Ros' whereabouts.

I guess we'll see over the next few episodes if there's a happy Christmas surprise awaiting us!

(By the way, we are somewhat snowed-in here in the Seattle area and it's kind of a bummer because all the shows are slow right now. Maybe it's time to read a book.)

But nobody can stop Gerard. And he's becoming more and more powerfull. Now, he has Orpinell almost in his hands, because he ordered Walter to know why Orpinell is interest on a girl like Eli. And we can supose he will discover all about Ros.

Gerard and Walter have no scruples. They kill for money (Gerard, without getting dirty his hands). But Orpinell asked Gerard to do something with Eli. Today he seems to realize what he has produced, seems to repent for what has happened to Eli, and said to Gerard he wanted she not to catch the fly to Amsterdam, but not to kill her. But if someone asks something like this to him, can happen something horrible, Gerard said, and Orpinell knows it.

And now, we are all sad for Eli, and also for Iago, who is sad now for Eli, but tomorrow for Max... How sads scenes!

Eli must pass 48 hours before doctors can tell if she will get well or not.

I agree Eli is a very beautiful character. I think writters arent good with her, because his love story with Ivan had a bad end, and now she hasn't her own storyline, only related to his brother Ros.

Conservative people in Catalonia dislike Eli and Iago for all what they represent (a good squatter, a good gay and ex-thief). Last season El Cor was specially progresive to create both characters.

I will translate episode 1699's dialogues when I could.

In the first scene with Beni, Iago is very sad because he thinks Eli can die. Beni cheers him up, and also says probably today Max is arriving, because he said he will come before Christmas. They also talk about make it clear to Gonzalo and Pilar they arent interested on them. So they call them. Beni does it through her sister, but Pilar listen Beni to tell we cant choose feelings, "this is a matter of skin", so Pilar says she wont bother him.

Iago was telling the same thing to Gonzalo when Max called. Iago said to Gonzalo Max told him he couldnt come because nobody can replace him in the hospital, but Iago think this isnt true: the true reason is that Max yet has fear to come back to Barcelona because he hasnt overcome what happened with Clara, and Iago tinks he never will do. Gonzalo cheers him up and says that Max will come back whe he could, but Iago says he isnt sure about it, and Gonzalo answers that he would do it, if he was in love with him.

While a sad song sounds, we can see Iago sad, almost in tears, but Gonzalo cheers him up and makes him smile, while they take a beer. And Beni is called by phone: someone, Max or Iago, tells him Max dont come back in Christmas.

FIRST SCENE, IAGO AND BENI (with Fidel), about the evil man who hurt Eli

BENI: He must be hang by his balls, after doing something like that.
FIDEL: Do you know something else?
BENI; No (to Iago), dont you?
IAGO: No, she's stable. She wont be woke until tomorrow [she's in a induced coma. Iago is very sad]
FIDEL: Be quite. You will see she will be here within two days.
IAGO: I think maybe she doesnt get it, maybe she will have conseq... (Beni cuts it).
BENI: Ei, ei, ei, ei, dont tell that even as a joke! It's enough! Doctors told tomorrow could tell something, isnt it? (Iago says yes with his head). You will see tomorrow they will tell that Eli is well. Damm it, today Max is arriving!
IAGO: Today?
BENI: Yes.
IAGO: Has he called you?
BENI: He hasnt. But the day after tomorrow is Christmas and he said he will come for hollidays; if he doesnt come today or tomorrow, what fucking hollidays he is arriving to? ha, ha! I has unfrozen the caneloni.
IAGO: And you, will you talk with Pilar? Or do you think to be closed all the day for her not to find you?
beni: And the phone swacht off for her not to call me. Damm it, I die of embarrassment when I think she thought that I... (he makes a gesture of to be together, involved). It's because I dont dare to tell her it, because I dont want her to think I think... I dont know if I explain myself, do you know what I want to tell you?

Iago smiles and says yes with his head.

BENI: I dont know why do you laugh, if you have the same problem as me. I dont know if I explain myself.
IAGO: Today, I'm going to talk with Gonzalo.

Max tells Iago he can't come home for the holiday.

Hi, Everyone. Hope you all had a great holiday. We spent all of Christmas day without electricity because of all the snow we've gotten (trees and branches come down on the power lines). We still had a good time, but had to improvise Christmas dinner.

Have to say I was disappointed in the episode on the 24th. Seeing Ivan in Eli's vision is not the same as having Max come home. At least Eli is OK. Carmela, what did Ivan say in the vision? His return could certainly be interesting and would give us a lot more Eli. Still, I'm sad we didn't even get a glimpse of Max (I held out hope till the last).

Thanks for the translation, Carmela. What would we do without you? Interesting (if somewhat violent) pix, Bernatfan -- I didn't know Beni hit Cinta with his car.

I guess we'll see how the Iago/Gonzalo relationship unfolds from here.

In Eva's video "Max & Iago Why?" there arent some sentences of the Iago and Gonzalo conversation that are interesting. Eva didnt put there, I think because they are part of Gonzalo's story. It seems Gonzalo is becoming in love with Iago, but Iago thinks only in Max. So, before Max called by phone, Iago was telling Gonzalo he isnt interested on him.

IAGO: Look, Gonzalo, I'm being sincere with you. Lately, you dont stop of give me some meals and I thank you. You're an excellent cook (Gonzalo laughs). But I fear all this thing had another intention.
GONZALO: But if there are dishes that are left! If I dont do it, I had to throw them. I though it went well to you. But if you dont like more...
IAGO: No, no, I never had eaten so well, but I cant give you nothing in exchange.
GONZALO: I havent asked it to you.
IAGO: I know it, but look.

In this moment, his phone rings. It's Max. Eva's video has the images with translation. But there is a last sentence, after Iago says: "I'm not so sure":

GONZALO: If I was in love, I did it (to come back to Barcelona).

Well, in fact, Gonzalo is in love with Iago! This last sentence, his expresion, his voice, all that tell us he's in love with Iago.

BERNATFAN AND DOROTHY: About Beni hiting Cinta, there is an important diference with Walter hiting Eli. Cinta was very warried in that time (in fact, she was very ill -cancer- and died short after) and went out to Beni's car between two cars and he didnt see her.

In fact, Max entered in Cinta's medical file and delete all about her illness to charge more money from the insurance company (all them lied about what Cinta did). With this money (that Peris thought they traveled with to the US for a treatment of her illness) David Peris bought another time the Peris's, that they had to sell after the accident in wich Quim and another person died.

DOROTHY, what Ivan says is:

"Hi, ducky, I'm here. You have had an accident. All will go well".

Spoilers for 7, 8 and 9 Jaunary tell us the new year begins with the continuation of Ivan & Eli love story.

NEWS ABOUT BERNAT QUINTANA:

The tree girls of www.iagomax.com (Eva, Nuria and Maria) went to the Sala Beckett to see Dublin Carol. Afterwards, they were taking a beer in the theater's café when BQ went in also for dining (a sandwich and a beer). He's taller and slimer, very different.

So, they sat with him, toke some shots (hang in their web), and asked about what he's doing in theater, and about El Cor. He was kind and asked all the questions, but the more important one, when Max is coming back, he cant answer it, it's a big secret. What he said about El Cor is what we know: Max and Iago talk by phone and by e-mail, and Gonzalo goes after Iago.

Wow. Those snaps of Bernat are really great (so envy that hair)! Such lucky people to actually get to meet him in person. He truly looks happy, not the artificial smile for the camera you get from some celebrities. It sounds like he is enjoying what he is doing now and wish him all the best no matter what he does in the future. Please keep those pics, clips, and articles coming so we all can follow his career.

I know the actors cannot say anything about upcoming story lines so we'll have to just wait to see if we get a surprise return to el cor someday. Hopefully Marc will continue to get airtime as Iago so at least we can see more of him and of course Beni.

Thanks for the info about Cinta, I was never sure what she had died from. She was one of my favorite characters and I loved the scenes with her and Max, especially the one where they shared the earphones listening to music.

Friday Beni gets a present, maybe from Max?

What a beautiful is now Iago, with his new clothes... and his counsels to Eli! I like how writers are mixing Max & Iago love story with Eli & Ivan love story! All them are so beautiful, so nice etc.!

As always, I'm doing the translation when I could, but I'm doing now some ideas about yesterday and today's episodes.


Ivan came from Colombia, where he's working in a medical NGO with his mothers partner (Sahara is his nickname). He has a bad past, he studied Economics in the US (where he lived whith his father) and he made money in Barcelona defrauding people. So, as Max got Iago to have a straigth life, Eli makes Ivan change his life.

The reason for Ivan to come now in Spain is to meet a firm administrator whose enterprise was giving the 2% of its benefits to the NGO, but because the crisis, the firm doesnt want to continue doing it. So Ivan convince this man, telling him that the NGO couldnt build a hospital and many children would die if they dont give the 2%.

(Eva said the firm administrator is one of the actors who play "Bufals" with Bernat Quintana, that opens in Barcelona's Versus Teatre in Jaunary 28th; this sunday is Dublin Carol's last day, and I'm going to see it this day).

Well, in his way to Madrid, where he talked with the firm administrator, Ivan visited Eli when she was waking from her coma, December 24th, and she thought she had a vision. In her wanderful conversation with Iago, yesterday, Iago said her she hadnt a vision, Ivan visited her, and also speaks her about his feelings to Max, and that the distance dont do people to forget their beloved. For him, the distance does more intense his feelings to Max. And he said Eli that Ivan is in her mind and she cant forget him, and that she ought to call him.

So today's episode, Ivan arrives to Barcelona and talks with people about what he's doing, and with Iago about Eli. Ivan comes back to Colombia tomorrow, so Iago insists he must to visit Eli. And talk also with Eli. Both love each other, but they dont dare to talk each other about. Iago insists, and their (Ivan and Eli) song sounds: "I have inside me a close window...". Ivan writtes a letter for Eli and asks Iago to give her. But Iago (a good adviser in hearth topics!) says he doesnt do it, and says him he must visit Eli and deliver her his letter. And Ivan does it.

In his diner with Beni and Iago (before come back to Colombia) Ivan talks also about the situation in that country, the violence, the coffee, the corageus people who live there etc.

About Gonzalo, in the first scene, Beni says Iago that him and Max are made to love each other, because both have thought the same gift, a bracelet. Then, Iago had a phone message from Gonzalo, who wants to diner with him. Beni says Iago must cut his friendship with Gonzalo. Iago says Gonzalo is only a friend, but Beni insists.

ELI: Hi, what a surprise!
IAGO: Are you alone?
ELI: Yes, my mother has gone to do a walk.
IAGO: How are you?
ELI. Well
IAGO: Eli, I have to explain you a thing.
ELI: Iago, dont frighten me, I'm not for frightening me. What is happening?
IAGO: Be quiet, Sandra explained me that about the delirium.
ELI: What, about the delirium?
IAGO: That about it seemed to you to see Ivan.
ELI: I dont know why she had to tell you something about it.
IAGO: Dont get angry with her, I think she had done the best explain it to me. You havent been delirius.
ELI: Whant are you saying?
IAGOa: Ivan is here. He went home to see Beni, and when we explained him all this about the accident, the guy run towards here just when he listened it.
ELI: So, he's in Barcelona.
IAGO: Now he's in Madrid for work. It seems to me his flight stopsover en Barcelona and he's passing two days here. He said to me he's working at the NGO of... how is his name... of his mother's partner.
