i'm desperately trying to concentrate on getting proper work done - still, i can't stop thinking about the how the eff the new NL works what with the door to the flatshare and the door to the outside being all in one, in the old one they seemed way off. i'm no mathematical physicist but even i (just) noticed there is something not right there. did they build an extension? i don't get it. is the bar even in the same place? wouldn't they have to knock down a wall to get the layout like it is? maybe that's what all the new brick wall is... i get that this is an old thread but i didn't think it fitted in general discussion. and it is quite literally puzzling me.

No other way to say it Johnny, but it's magic. In the same way to front door to the castle is flat to the front of the building, but when we go inside, it's at a 90-degree angle to the foyer, and the piano room (and rooms beyond, off of the left of the Foyer) should, using the set secorator's logic extend into the driveway. As others have even pointed out with the upstairs flats, there are kitchen windows on the far walls of Gregor's flat and the flat-share. It makes the bathroom and two bedrooms in Gregor's flat mighty small, and the very spacious Ollian bathroom, Ollian bedroom, Judith's old room, and Lydia's old room inexplicable. But in some ways, it makes absolute perfect sense.

MYSTERY SOLVED.I don't remember (i'm to lazy to go back and check) who originally posted the diagram, but my inspiration is on the left, it really struck me as being soo right on, except for Christian's room being on the wrong side, and that it didn't leave a window for the bathroom. Otherwise, i think it is perfect. so on the right, are my modifications. and people...i think we can safely say...MYSTERY SOLVED. if we accept the bathroom placement, then it allows us to understand how Xtian was able to end up in his bedroom after coming from the bathroom in the 3.13.08 "i'm angry I've been chatting with the object of my not so secret anymore gay crush - let's have hot sex in my bed" episode

The bathroom is wrong in that both diagrams. A spoiler picture exists where we can see out the window and there are rooftops in the distance. If it were an airshaft, we would see a wall.
ETA: We can't post the pic here until it's no longer a spoiler.

I was wondering if maybe a sort of "Lichtschacht" was a possibility (don't know the English word). Basically it's a very tiny courtyard thingie that isn't actually meant to ever be entered by human beings. It just exists so certain rooms can have a window for light and air (usually toilets/bathrooms). So maybe the bathroom or the kitchen could get their window from something like that. It was rather amusing in my old appartment because pretty much all toilets in the house connected to the Lichtschacht and since my cousin lived in the flat on top of me we could talk to each other when in the loo/standing close to the loo. GAH!!! damn my hubris. When i said air shaft, i was referring to this thing that lola posted. you can def see roofs etc, but if they are at the top of the building, and the slanted window is in the ceiling of the bathroom, couldn't the window be above the "shaft" portion and what we see are buildings that are taller than the nl building? EDIT: Whatever am i to do with all these straws i'm grasping...

Quastch. What you don't realize is that it is actually a very elaborate mural that olli painted because he was depressed at looking at the airshaft. ;D
::Quietly arranges a myriad of milkshakes upon which to use her many straws...::

HA HA! MY HUBRIS PREVAILS AGAIN!! As for how that maps on to the exterior..... Go ask Arno or something. Maybe poor construction is why Judith moved out....

gahh this is going to sound complicated and neeky but going by that forbidden spoiler pic you can see that the bathroom has slanted ceilings and roof beams in it. suggesting that the bathroom is on the edge of one side of the building. now if we were to take the exterior as it's presented on google maps: (which i pinched from another post here) then it would be impossible for your floorplan of the flat to fit. because the exterior would have to be a straight level surface. so it wouldn't work. especially considering the positioning of the kitchen window. *stamps all over thunderkats straws* sorry babes... we just have to accept the magic and live with it

MIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have no idea what you're talking about, all i know is that i have all these freaking straws, and now i can't even drink out of them, cause they're all squished up. thanks a lot johnny. However, i still say my renderings of the storage space are 100 percent accurate.

There is another explanation...
That a secret Time Lord is living there and he has beggared with the Time-And-Relative-Dimension-In-Space

Ok, so another mystery is solved. They have another closet on the other side of the room. And we saw the trophy. THATS were he keeps it. I am worried about their bed, though. I mean, when Olli fell today it seemed like it was going to fall apart. Those bricks under it must be pretty tough. ;D

I'm gonna slap this in there even though it's not about the appartment, but about the sets in general. Anyway: The castle has the following sets: Ludwig's office Dinner room Fireplace room (big couch and various smaller seats, a cupboard with a TON of family pictures) Piano room Entry hall Kitchen: Stella's old office I think if you enter in the hall the fireplace room is to the left and then Ludwig's office. To the right is the piano room and the dining room. The kitchen entrance is straight ahead. And the following bedrooms: Sebastian's suite (bed, music chair, tiny desk): Hagen and Marlene's place (bed, entry area with a couch) Helena's room (bed, entry area with a couch) Tristan's room (last seen when Marlene sent him a white rose) All bedrooms also seem to use the identical bathroom set: In particular we have seen the same bathroom used by Tristan, Helena&Andi and TanSeb. Ansgar's room (mirror, tiny couch, bed, last seen when Jessica tried to steal info from him) Outside the castle, but still on the premise there is the "organerie" where Nico and Phil live (bed, tiny desk with chairs [fe when Dana was telling Nico about her love for Hagen], low tabe with couch (for example seen when Christian talked to Helena on Andi's behalf): The Holding: Ludwig's office Tanja's office (used to be occupied by Ansgar and Sebastian) Entry area with the receptionist's desk Nico/Helena office (used rarely, mostly seems to consist of a table ) One set that was apparently taken down is the one of the Lahnstein penthouse in the city: I wonder if that is the curse of the Chrolli bedroom. That it feels like an actual bedroom. Like even though we know it has a desk and stuff, it never really felt like it would seem appropriate for other people to waltz in there and have their conversations there, unlike the bedroom/entry areas of Helena, Marlene and Nico.
