Gaya Sa Pelikula is about Karl, a 19-year old architecture student in the middle of an identity crisis, and Vlad, a schoolmate on the run from his own family. As their lives become entwined by fate making them housemates over the semestral break, Karl and Vlad come to learn more about each other and themselves than they could have ever imagined. Starring Ian Pangilinan and Paolo Pangilinan (yes, they have the same name, but they aren't related). Directed by JP Habac. Created and written by Juan Miguel Severo. Co-presented by TM Tambayan. One of the actors is openly gay. Article about the series at local media: news.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/09/04/20/hi-neighbor-teaser-of-bl-series-gaya-sa-pelikula-releasedI've been waiting this for months. Not only the episode was excellent but it's also very popular. GaySaPelikula is the number one trend in Philippines the whole night.

That first episode was really good. If nothing else it is refreshing to have a Filipino storyline not set in the current covid world. That initial set where they were dancing was gorgeous. The sister is great - she is definitely going to make sure that her brother fulfills all of her shipping fantasies Both boys are really handsome.

Karl has too active an imagination. Vlad is just too pretty. I enjoyed episode 2.

Loving it so far. Not sure if anyone noticed, but they have a special thanks in the credit to Tay and New. I heard this is because the two main characters are inspired by them. And frankly, I can see it. Vlad reminds me a lot of Tay and same for Karl.

I have to say this one might just be a new favorite. The Philippines have been remarkable over the past couple months - and practically every webseries seems to outdo the last one. Edited to add - here's hoping Taiwan, Korea and Japan get into this same mode of mutually assured proliferation that the Philippines and Thailand have been on. The production values for Like in the movies are remarkable - good lighting, well shot, decent music, great scenery all topped off with some pretty good acting (though Anna might be grating in more than small doses).
Judit definitely has lived up to my expectations - her prodding of her brother to get him to put his arms around Karl and egging them on for a kiss: I have to admit I came close to squeeing as hard as she did. The teasing of Karl with his ignorant request for the condoms to be refrigerated was fun - both siblings were amused.

This is one of my fav bl's to look forward to since the ending of hello stranger and Gameboys. Yes her squeal was everything! Also Vlad telling Karl he was going to kiss him on the cheek made me say "awww". I had to watch it again cause it was so cute. But I see so much potential in this series. Despite the first half of this year being a whole crap show this 2nd half seems to be BL recovery and I'm loving all these shows coming out. It's legit hard to keep up.
