Aw... This is turning out to be really sweet! I wish they had done a storyline like this when I used to watch this show as kid/teen back in the early 2000s.
I also love their chemistry and the fact that they are so very different from each other!

Can I just say I am very pleasantly surprised by the progression of this story (so far - there's still time to disappoint me). Going in, I had extremely low expectations - no, make that ZERO expectations - given the show's origin and the fact that it took them, a teen soap opera, 25 years to even acknowledge the presence of LGBT people. Last year's (first) attempt at LGBT characters totally fizzled out and lowered the bar even further. But maybe that has helped because it makes this second attempt so much better even by doing little things. It does feel a little paint-by-numbers, but that's to be expected given this is their first gay romance and they're probably treading cautiously given the spike in homophobic attitudes and deadly violence towards the Brazilian LGBT community. I'm still not sure we'll ever get any intimacy between the boys, or if it will be a chaste/off-screen consummation of their relationship, but I'm glad they are portraying the experience of falling in love ON-screen. They did post this on their official Instagram. http://instagram.com/p/Bn9fH94gho-

I'm pleasantly surprised as well! Some parts are a bit too 'didactic' for my 25-year-old taste, but I always have to remind myself that I'm not a teenager anymore, and I then realize how tastefully they are treating the whole experience of "falling in love". It's all very sweet, but all VERY important for gay teens in Brazil. I particularly like how they have 2 opposite gay "archetypes", living through 2 quite different gay experiences, together. I don't know what the future holds for this storyline, but they are definitely in the right direction.

I wonder how far behind Sophia's videos are. I wanna see this!

I love the Michael + Pérola + Jade friendship. I love how the girls support him and always try bringing his confidence up!
Not gonna lie, I also love Santiago’s puppy eyes whenever he gets sad in a scene LOL
This has been fun to watch. I’m actually really surprised Malhação is treating this storyline right

I'm glad Sophia is posting these videos as I missed most of the storyline and just watched a couple of them for the first time on TV this week.
With the elections happening tomorrow here in Brazil, and with a high chance of a homophobic right-wing candidate winning, this romantic and almost "fairy tale"-like storyline feels SO important to the Brazilian gay youth right now! I'm so glad something like this is airing on TV.

Does anyone know if this is the last part - now that they've kissed, are they relegated to the background? (It was a pretty chaste kiss but I guess in the current climate of Brazil, they don't dare to do more for fear of unleashing homophobic violence on the cast and crew.)
Sad puppy Santiago is SUPER hot. But one thing I'm a bit puzzled - Michael's friends tease him for obsessing a blond boy - surely Santiago is not blond? His hair isn't even a light shade of brown!

Sad puppy Santiago is SUPER hot. But one thing I'm a bit puzzled - Michael's friends tease him for obsessing a blond boy - surely Santiago is not blond? His hair isn't even a light shade of brown! Well, I’m not 100% sure (since I haven’t been following this season since the beginning, or Malhação in a long time), but from what I read, all characters get 15 days as “lead” characters. Michael’s 15 days officially began on the day he and Santiago went on that “date” in the cafe (Part 7 on Sophia's videos). Everything before that happened during someone else’s 15 days. So I guess, characters development isn’t all exclusive to the 15 days. Having said that, I read online that repeated characters will have new sets of 15 days and the 3 new characters (Santiago, Alvaro And Dandara) will also have their 15 days before the show ends in April 2019. I don’t know if that’s confusing LOL I know for a fact (by reading the spoilers on the website for next week) that, next Friday, they will touch on Santiago’s soccer career and him being a gay player. They only have spoilers up to Friday, so I don’t know if that’s the beginning of some new development on his storyline, but I would guess so. Regarding the kiss, it happening at all was a HUGE thing in Brazil. I don’t think they were afraid of unleashing homophobic violence on the cast or crew, we are still a conservative (and violent) society regarding LGBT, but that would be way too extreme. We are not Russia, gay people are very visible in life (including on the mainstream media), but we also have a very LOUD conservative part of the population. Most of the backlash from the kiss came from it happening on a show with a big kid’s following (yeah, it’s a teen show, but a lot of younger kids watch it too because of how early it’s on tv). Conservatives have this bizarre fixation about TV turning kids gay. So having the kiss and their relationship shown on this specific show, was a MAJOR thing. I personally loved how they shot the whole sequence... it was very romantic and cute. It was a tame kiss, but I dare to say, considering how dysfunctional all the love relationships are on this show, Santiago and Michael’s realationship has been a highlight in terms of healthy representation of young love. Regarding the last part. I don’t remember they ever saying anything about Santiago being blonde at all. I’m comfused LOL Maybe they did and it just went over my head LOL

I think the kiss is the end of Michael's "15-days-Storyline", but they still had some cute scenes this past week (including Michael introducing Santiago to his mom). I think Santigo will get more attention in the future from what I read on Twitter. Santiel is their ship name btw! LOL
