That was really great drama! The father is so over the top. I'm not sure how they can get a resolution between him and Xavier in a way that won't feel abrupt and forced. I'm glad the mother kicked him out. And it was about time David moved Xavier from the couch to his bed.

They can't. I think he is an unredeemable character. Unless they go from the usual "three years later" ending, there's no way they solve that.
And frankly, his father was a very annoying character even before becoming a jerk

But there's going to be that championship match that Xavier is surely going to win. That seems tailor made to allow the father to suddenly become overwhelmed by pride in Xavier. We'll see.

But with that little time and the way his father behave recently that will feel contrived as hell.
They were too far on the portrayal of the father, he always was an annoying character, but right now he is one of the worst bigots on coming out soap storylines in recent times

Jose, I agree that they went way overboard with Xavier's father.

That was pretty abrupt and forced, but the actors did a good job of selling it. It didn't ring true to what would happen in real life (at least not that quickly), but within a sappy telenovel it was par for the course, I guess. Of course there was going to be a happy resolution. But I wonder what would have happened if Xavier wasn't a champion athlete who was a hero for his team? What if Xavier had announced that he actually hated hockey and always had. He just did it because his dad wanted him to. Instead he was taking up interpretive dance. Would the father be so ready to accept Xavier then?
If I was Xavier, I wouldn't have been so quick to move out of David's bed. In fact, you'd have to pry my fingers off his bed to get me to move back home. David is beyond hot!
I guess the only thing left to resolve is David still hiding in the closet. In the last video he'll probably announce his love for Xavier to the world.

Safe light sent his next video
&X 42 "Happy Together". Episodes 305-310 (of 310). LAST EPISODE! GRAND FINALE! And that’s it, gang! I hope you enjoy the ending of this telenovela. For me it was disappointing due to the censorship, but the actors, storyline and crew were really good, so it was worthy. ’m taking a vacation from publishing videos on this channel,

Thank you, gidi, for your effort. I didn't start watching this show until near the end because early on I learned about the censoring and so I dropped it. Then I learned that the censoring wasn't really the show's fault. They wrote and filmed the kisses. So I watched almost the whole series in just a couple of sittings to catch up. It's really a shame about the censoring because otherwise this was quite a nicely done story. I think my favorite character was Xavier's brother. Such a sweetheart!

Being Portuguese myself (lol at people thinking that they were speaking Spanish, the amount of times I hear that and how it just grinds my gears is too large a number to count) I'm very fond of this show although, tbh, I have yet to watch it (at least this specific storyline). I've seen it on TV and it's always amazed me how most Portuguese novelas are so short, maybe they last a year at most, but Os Nossos Dias seemed to have been running for years. That's probably not exactly true but the amount of times I've seen an episode WITHOUT David nor Xavier is so high.
As for the progression of the story I think it's quite normal for it to have gone so slow at the beginning. Portugal is a very liberal country (at least from what I've been told through the years of industrialization and what have you) but there are still many people who are still iffy on the whole, excuse me while I shudder, "alternative lifestyle." Like for example if we had gotten a kiss scene like they did in Relacciones Peligrosas (Dangerous Relationships an actual SPANISH soap featuring Alejandro and Diego) where the two of them kissed but you only saw the back of one of their heads I wouldn't be surprised. Now in the same regard if you had seen a man and a woman nearly having sex and barely covering up their body I wouldn't be surprised at that either.
