It reminds me of Brad on ATWT defending Luke.. remember he had a trouble with Luke being gay at first? But when it comes to somebody bullying your family, then you stand up for them, no matter what! Victor accepts Sonny being gay, but I bet he's not totally confortable with it yet. I still think it's great that he supports and stands up for his family though!

It sucks that we only had ONE scene of the teens this week. I thought summer was supposed to be the time for teens? Even Y&R, which never really bothers with a teen scene, seems to be making an effort this year.

Hopefully things will start to improve once the new writing is shown.

Yeah I thought that too.But it seems that all Days has focused on the whole Sami/Rafe/Rafe2/EJ storyline it's getting old fast. What I'm thinking is that maybe they decided to scrap what the old writers had written and start fresh. And if that's the case then I don't expect nothing to happen not untill around late fall cause the new writers stuff doesn't start airing untill September.

Now I don't want to be a pessimist, and I'm NOT saying they are scrapping the gay s/l, but the one thing we know about the new writing team's vision for the gay s/l is to take it slower. That doesn't really give me much confidence that the teens will be on more frequently, especially given that they are bringing back so many characters and reinventing the show with fresh storylines that (as far as we know) have nothing to do with the teens - all this just suggests even less airtime for them.

Actually.. I think the teens have a better chance of getting more screen time with the new writers. Dana Higley and the rest were all about Sami, Rafe, EJ etc. They have occupied much of the screen time over the last few months, hell, even years! And even the Sami and EJ fans are starting to get sick of it. I think we'll see more of a balance with these new writers, they will share the screen time between all of the characters. I really doubt they'll ditch the gay storyline. They said they were committed to telling this story, and Ken Corday said that the gay storyline was still a go. I'm not too worried. Besides.. the new writers did a gay storyline on Passions, so they are not conservative. I think they want to do a gay storyline.

I dunno, OTR. I also remember Ken Corday claiming the new writers would concentrate on a smaller set of characters than Dena Higley. He claimed her writing gave focus to about 30 characters, the new writers to about 15. Now, we all saw the bogus focus on 30 characters turned out - as you say, the show revolved around Sami, Rafe and EJ. But if they're going to narrow the focus further, I can't really see the teens being part of the 15 characters. I don't imagine Sami/EJ/Rafe are going anywhere, although they may have more balanced airtime, and I expect big storylines for the returning characters like Marlena and John, Jack, Carrie and Austin. Given that the new writers' material starts airing in the fall, gives even less reason for the teens to be included in the 15 since they are back to school/college.

Everything is better than Dena Higley's writing. I think the teens will still get their storyline and probably get even more screen time than they currently have. We'll see who's right. Nothing to do now but to wait and see anyway!

Thanks for the link, HQ.
I'm so in love with Freddie Smith and this just made me love him even more.
I knew there was nothing to worry about concerning screentime and the telling of the story.
Currently we are still experiencing DH's writing but soon that will be over thank goodness cuz she can't write to save her damn life. And I do believe the canvas will be more balanced and not focusing so much on favorites anymore.
I have every belief that we will get a great story and see more of the teen scene by the end of the summer.

I believe Freddie said during the Emmys that he'd been working a lot. I've never been concerned. It's just a matter of letting the new writers work kick in. And I feel the story is better for it.

This gives me some hope! I am pretty sure that the new writers will give him screen time (along with other teens!) And funny, I didn't know that he was from ashtabula! That is like 15 minutes away from me...and it is truly country living. Not much going on there...at all!

My guess is that Will is uncomfortable with it and Gabi will encourage Will to do 'the right thing' by being Sonny's friend, basically pushing her boyfriend into Sonny's arms. LOL.....

I don't really see Will having a problem with it because nothing in his personality has shown otherwise, but we'll find out soon enough.

The Will/Gabi scene about Sonny's sexuality is on Tuesday, from the previews at the end of today's Canadian episode: Gabi and Will pause outside the pub. "Does it bother you that he's gay?" she asks. Will looks intense.
