I think not hurting Gabi will be utmost on both Will and Sonny's minds. Furthermore, the show is not going to have them do anything 'bad' like sneak around behind Gabi's back or anything like that.

Chad/Sonny would have multi-layered drama unlike Will/Sonny, so to call Chad a poor candidate reeks of folly to me. All of your reasons for Chad-Sonny have to do with the circumstances surrounding them, not their actual characters.

Circumstances surrounding them are all that's needed to make them work! And Chad can be changed the same way people expect Will to be.

I guess I just can't imagine Chad making that change, whereas I can with Will. I don't think Chad is going to be sexually attracted to Sonny.

I agree, Hawthorne.
Especially since Chad and Abby just declared their love for each other on Friday's show.
The only way Chad and Sonny will ever be together is in some fanfic.

I love how Chad/Sonny keeps being dismissed as fanfic when they have so much going for them in terms of ACTUAL story. Chad/Sonny make perfect sense, more so than Will/Sonny.

Chad/SOnny does NOT make more sense than Will/Sonny. Will has seemed gay from the start, there's been hints that Will is gay. Chad on the other hand.. not so much. If they were going to make Chad gay they'd had to pull something out of their asses! It's not gonna happen. It doesn't make any sense to make Chad gay. Will on the other hand.. he has never seemed straight. It's actually more realistic for me that WIll is gay than straight. I agree with the others here.. either Will is Sonny's love interest, or they might bring in a nw guy in the future. I'm guessing the latter, considering the backtracking of the writers over the last few weeks. I am almost 100 % sure that Wilson is not going to happen. The writers got cold feet and ditched the storyline.

Well, there was never any official confirmation that Will would be gay, yet everyone ran with that idea, so I don't think it's such a huge stretch for people to be concerned that Will's coming-out will be dropped, since Ken Corday's anti-gay attitude is a known fact and there is no movement in the story so far, with Freddie even saying he feels like a fifth wheel. I hate that they've made Sonny Melanie's gay best friend because she is such an annoying character and the actress's performance really grates. I'd have thought the best dramatic potential would be in Gabi and Sonny becoming good friends before he "steals" her boyfriend, if indeed that is to happen. I still think there is something off about Thursday's Will/Gabi scenes, they were so short and spaced so far apart, which makes me believe there was at least one more scene that was cut. But I guess time will tell. Since people believe this story will kick off in November, I am tuning out until then. It is clear that will be the earliest we'll see anything significant happen with Sonny, based on Freddie's interview. I have very little confidence in these new writers as some of their other storyline decisions (e.g. Vivian's exit) reflect poorly on their ability. The likelihood that Ken Corday is standing over them and guiding their pen pretty much sounds the death knell. They have a lot to do if they want to revive DOOL from being the worst soap on air, and they're off to a bad start. There's nothing to love about them slowing it down because they've really lost the plot. It's not organic in the least, either. Organic would be showing subtle hints like we got at the beginning and giving characters airtime to develop their motivations. By all accounts, this is not happening. I don't blame Molly Burnett for saying this stuff because obviously she must tow the party line and can't say "Oh yeah, Ken Corday's put a stop to this storyline because he thinks gays don't belong on a family show". The way this story is being written right now, the show's traditional fans will find it unbelievably inorganic to reveal Will as gay. Heck, most of the new gay fans find it inorganic. I totally agree with everything you said here, justinate. It's one thing to slow it down, it's another thing to completely drop the story, which it looks like they have. They're not even giving hints towards Will being gay anymore! And I, unlike others here, do not take the interview with Casey and Molly as a confirmation. Scripts change, storylines change, especially now with the new writers. Also notice how neither of them said anything about the gay romance, wonder why? Hell, they might even be lying, or feeling pressured to say that "it's organic" and whatnot because it would look bad if they said that the storyline is dropped. I'm sorry, but I don't really trust what the actors say. I've been burned in the past, it will not happen again. The only thing that will make me happy is an official confrmation from the writers and the producers, but I know we won't get that.

Excerpt from recent SON interview with DOOL's Casey Deidrick (CHAD) and Molly Burnett(MELANIE).Interviewer: Now DOOL is doing what many soaps have been getting away from, or shying away from, and that's telling the story of a gay teenager and leading to romance. Is there anything you can talk to us about that?Casey: I think it's about time.Molly:I think so too. And I... and Sonny and Melanie are ...Sonny is Melanie's gay best friend. I love it so much and ummmm...more power to 'em, rock on...I love it...And but I just don't want to see..they're not rushing it....everything is really organic...ummm I hear they...did a phenomenal job...andFreddie is doing amazing. He's doing so well. ON a sidenote... it's clear the interviewer is new to his job...he's a rookie.... During the interview, he could rarely act normal and just look at who he was talking to... he had to keep on looking away and addressing the camera.. Thats the sign of a rookie...

I for one think the story is still on. I think the new writers want this to be their story not DHs. Perhaps they thought the way it was currently written would not do the story justice. After the new writers were hired we have
1. Camilla's interview where she flat out states that Will is gay.
2. Deidre's interview where she talks about Will's storyline being "wonderful"
3. Now Casey and Molly's interview where I thought it was pretty evident that it would not be Chad.
Am I the only one who thought that the Will/Gabi scenes this week gave us plenty of sublte hints? Will obviously thought it did not go very well. Gabi didn't look overjoyed. There was absolutely nothing sexy or steamy about their scenes. Just my thoughts.

I mean, obviously we can't be 100% sure until we actually see it on our screens, but I haven't seen anything to convince me they've decided to back out on telling the story. In the Casey & Molly interview, I thought it was very telling the way they were all "oh, we don't know who Sonny's love interest is going to be.... by the way, Casey has come up with a shipper name for Will and Sonny." I mean, come on! Sure, they're toeing the party line by saying they don't know what going to happen, and maybe they don't actually *know* yet, but clearly they have their suspicions. I also agree with you about the scenes between Will and Gabi. I got the impression that all of Will's concern about whether or not it was any good for Gabi -- something he was so convinced of that he outright accused her of lying when she denied it -- was really about the fact that it hasn't been all that spectacular for him and he was just assuming the feeling was mutual.

I too think it's going to be Will and I'll tell you why there is only 2 full weeks left in August which means that there getting ready to shoot November Sweeps.I can also tell you that if your thinking it's T your dead wrong there are no plans to bring Brendan Coughlin (T) on as a full time cast member. And with Shelby Young (Kinsey) leaving soon I don't see what the point is to keep T around. And also there has not been any new casting calls sent out for any new characters.

It was crystal clear to me Will wasn't really feeling it and that Gabi was acting like it was really great but you could tell it wasn't.

OMG, are you serious, peggin?
Casey made up a shipper name for Will and Sonny? Too cute. And he and Molly definitely know what's really up and are only pretending like they don't.
I wonder if Casey and Molly are still dating?

I wonder if Casey and Molly are still dating? Yup, Casey came up with the same name a lot of us have already been using -- WilSon. If you want to watch the interview, you can find it here: www.soapoperanetwork.com/videos/molly-burnett-and-casey-deidrick-new-days-modern-family-chill-and-even-harry-potterThe part where they talk about the gay storyline starts at about 7 minutes in. I got the impression that Casey and Molly are still dating; they seemed very coupley to me.

Thanks for the link.
I cannot believe that Casey came up with WilSon too. I like that.
Have you seen that video Casey and Molly made of them trying to do hip hop dancing? It's too cute. I'm glad they are still a couple. I figured they were but I didn't know for sure.

No. Casey did not come up with WILSON. This shipper name was created by internet fans months ago when Sonny first arrived and the assumption was that he'd be with Will. That's long before this current interview with Casey and Molly. If anything, Casey simply borrowed the name after he saw it over the internet.

We already know that the fans came up with it.
I simply pointed out that it was cute that he said it as well.

That's long before this current interview with Casey and Molly. If anything, Casey simply borrowed the name after he saw it over the internet. It's entirely possible he DID come up with WilSon on his own. I know I came up with WilSon on my own before I saw anyone else using it. I'm not saying I'm the first to come up with it (I know I'm not), just that I did come up with it before knowing anyone else was using it, and I know a couple of other people who've said the same thing. I mean, seriously, it's such an obvious way of smashing their names together, I'm sure there are lots of people who came up with it independently of each other. So its entirely possible that Casey he did think of it on his own. Hell, since the actors know what's going to happen on the show at least a couple of months before we do, it's even possible Casey did come up with it before anyone else did.

Some more info from Casey's interview right from the Spoiler Post Section thanks to talulaua. The interview was quite interesting despite the silence order that came some time after Camilla's interview at the Emmys.
