Right now GH and AMC don't seem to have any teens on their soaps. OLTL and Days are the only ones where the teens actually have storylines. I hope that Days puts this in the frontburner with the rest of their storylines, because the ones on T.V. are really not interesting. Their pacing in some storylines are almost glacial, so I wouldn't be surprised if this one was also. No kidding about the pacing! One storyline usually lasts at least 6 months, sometimes even a year. I'm watching the Belle/Shawn/Phillip and Claire custody battle, running away, losing Claire then getting her back again drama right now. Well, that storyline basically just finished. But I think it has lasted about a year now. I remember the start of this early last year. Days is basically the slowest moving soaps of them all. If you think the pacing of ATWT was bad, well, then you shouldn't be watching Days! lol And well.. I agree, the teens haven't been front and center, but back in the day I remember Belle, Mimi, Chloe, Phillip and Shawn actually getting some screen time. Come to think of it, maybe it was mostly in summer. But I do think they were shown fairly often the rest of the year too. Hmm... maybe it's because the teens left are not really a part of the core families? Kinsey and T are both just kinda supplements to Will, Gabi and Chad who are the main teen characters I guess. Well, Chad isn't a teen anymore, but yeah.. you know what I mean, right? I saw some old clips of Will nr. 2 (there's been three actors playing Will). And Dylan Patton did a REALLY good job. His acting was top notch, even too good for a soap. I understand why he was nominated for a daytime emmy. Don't get me wrong, I think Chandler Massey is a good actor too, but I kinda preferred Dylan Patton as Will. He managed to portray Will as a guy who's been through a lot. Will was kinda as a shy teenager but he also had many things bottled up inside, and had a complicated relationship with his mother too. I just think that Chandler Massey has more of a bubbly personality that translates to the screen. And that doesn't really fit with Will. Will should be this brooding, kinda depressed amd bratty teenager. Chandler Massey is good with the emotional scenes of course, but most of the time I think he's too bubbly to play Will. Don't get me wrong, I still like him a lot. And I like the fact that he seemed generally happy and excited to start the gay storyline. I think he'll do a good job. And yeah, I wouldn't have wanted Dylan Paton to play Will anymore if he really did refuse to play Will just because Will turned out gay. That is just awful. I still kinda prefer his portrayal of Will though. I think Dylan Patton was amazing as Will. Chandler Massey is doing a good job too, but Dylan Patton was better. WIll should be this shy, broody teenager, not someone with a bubbly personality. Sorry, it's just how I feel. Like I said, I have nothing against Chandler Massey. He seems like a wonderful guy, but I preferred Dylan Patton's portrayal of Will.

It's so nice to watch the start of a storyline. And i think it's a really good idea to choose summer to develop the storyline, Nuke storyline started on summer and it was a big success, and there are other paralelism, because Luke was a regular character the same way Will is, the difference is Luke had a long arc for his coming out before they really do the summer storyline (with the love triangle with Maddie). Watching some clips, it's quite obvious the actor played the character to be gay from the begining because there are too many things to be casual American soaps have always focused on teen storylines in the summer since teens are usually out of school and home more in the day time. It's a pretty established trend.

I have to agree Dylan was a great actor and it really os a shame that Dylan said no to the same-sex storyline. But I have to tell the truth I personally don't think Dylan could have pulled it off. There is just something about Chandler that I just don't think Dylan has.

The pacing on this show is indeed glacial, and that's the A and B storylines. At the moment Will's story has gotten two minutes of airtime in one week, so I doubt it qualifies even as a C or D storyline, LOL! It's possible (hopefully) it will kick into high(er) gear when summer rolls around. As of now there is (highlight to read spoiler-based speculation) no casting news about Will's love interest. I remember reading that they wanted to tie the guy into another core family and I was racking my brains as to who they might choose since almost everyone is related to Will. Then it occurred to me that they might bring back one of Adrienne and Justin Kiriakis's sons. They used to be a supercouple back in the late '80s, the classic tale of poor girl meet rich boy. Justin's uncle Victor (still on the show) disapproved of the match and even drugged Justin so that he would be impotent and not conceive any children with Adrienne. This might be a chance for them to rebuild the Kiriakis family since they wrote out Philip (Victor's only family left onscreen is his biological son Bo and his grandson Brady). Adrienne is the sister of the iconic character of Patch Johnson; her other brother is Jack Deveraux, Sr. (Abby's father).
Adrienne and Justin have between them four sons of appropriate age for Will (all born in the late '80s and early '90s). The youngest, Jackson, is their only biological child together. They also adopted a pair of twins, Victor Jr. and Joey, and Justin had his eldest son, Alexander, by another woman. I think it would be cool if one of them breezed back into town, already out and proud, much to the consternation of Great-Uncle Victor (especially if it is his namesake, LOL!).(<-- highlight to read)

Wally Kurth provided a possible spoiler to the upcoming storyline. See spoiler below He stated at a fan event that Justin and Adrienne's youngest son will be coming to town. Most likely he'll be Will's new love interest. Wally didn't say when Justin's son's return would happen but as no mention of casting has been noted and Days are taping late July scenes it's likely that the new guy won't appear in town until August.

Wow, so my speculation was on the ball! Thanks for the news, judexy, but you need to spoiler-tag your post. Just wrap it in tags [Xcolor=beige] and [/color]. You'll need to take the X out of the first tag. I can't believe that we presumably have to wait so long for this story to kick off though.

Congrats to Chandler Massey for the nom! I have a feeling he'll do very good playing a gay character too Can't wait to see what happens next. Too bad he has so little screen time! Hopefully we'll see him more this summer! Anyway.. here is my favorite scene with Will acting-wise (from 2:55). This scene is really intense:

overtherainbow: Love, love, love that scene!! It really does show how good Chandler is, not to mention how much Will was checking out Chad!
judexy: thank you for the vid!! I would've loved to have been the person knocking on the door and telling him! He's such a hottie!
Congrats to Chandler for his nomination! He deserves it!

If that's true it will be his second gay character in a row, and with the screentime he had on 90210, he has a lot of time to do the two jobs

Yay! Highlight to read: I think he is perfect! Good looking, same hight as Will, and I liked him as Teddy's boyfriend and he's a decent actor too. Not the best in the world, but certainly better than the likes of Dario! LMAO. Anyway.. he has played gay before, so we know he's comfortable with it. He is very gay friendly, even though he's straight. A very good pick imo! I'm happy, but at the same time kinda sad because he won't be on 90210 anymore. I mean, I get it.. he didn't have much screen time, and he wanted to leave, kinda like Kyle Riabko. Is the show even getting renewed, or is it cancelled? I don't know.. this is not good for Teddy on 90210 though. He will be seen as such a player if the show will be back next season! He's already been together with more guys this season than any of the straight girls, yikes! at least it's equal treatment though! lol
Can anyone please fill me in on who Justin and Adrienne are? How is Justin related to Victor? I started watching Days about 15 years ago, but I can't remember them? :S

Interesting news. Discussion of casting news in white below.
Maybe Freddie will be allowed to do BOTH shows at the same time? It's not like he's going to get a ton of screentime on 90210 in the upcoming season.
I hope that with the rumored casting of Freddie as being the offspring of Justin and Adrienne, that this upcoming storyline will not have MOST of its development happen off-screen. Two young men, discovering that they're falling for each other and that their families have strong ties within their community and town.
NICE.

Of course, with his screentime on 90210 i really doubt that they ask him for exclusivity, and given that Will is not exactly 5 days a week on Days. So he could be in both shows and has even a good amount of free time

There is absolutely NOTHING about Will in the breakdown of spoilers for this week, but he does make an appearance in the SOW spoilers for the week of May 23rd: (highlight to read) Will and Gabi make plans for prom. (Maybe Will backs off just as they are about to seal the deal on prom night?)
Also, SOC lists these two spoilers for "down the road" (i.e. won't happen until May 30th at the earliest). They are both very vague and I don't know if the first even refers to Will/Gabi or if the second refers to the recent casting news. But here they are anyway: One teen romance takes a surprising turn; and a wayward son (Jackson Kiriakis?) returns to Salem.

I am hopeful that Jackson is coming into town to take Abigail so Chad will be free to be with Will. Wishful thinking, but both actors have said they would be fine taking their characters there. Plus, with all the response from fans, how can they not?
I have started watching the show again so I can be ready and am already interested in the other story lines. It helps that I grew up watching the series.

I don't think anyone knows yet who's going to replace her. I wonder what this does to the gay storyline? Will the new head writer be gay friendly?

GREAT NEWS! She ruined Days with HORRIBLE writing and she's the main reason Days is doing so badly. Even its most faithful viewers can't bear to watch the soap anymore. And I agree.. all the storylines are awful, all the couplings are so forced, unlikeable and unbelievable. Oh yeah.. and none of them have any chemistry. It's awful. It doesn't help that all of the iconic characters have left over the last few years either. All that is left are characters we care nothing for. Like.. the whole Hernandez family is hated. Nobody cares about them, yet they feed us them all the time. Hopefully we'll get a new and better writer, maybe Days can be saved after all. They need to go back to the core families, bring back the iconic characters, and make realistic couples, would be nice if they could get back some of the original couples too. Make it interesting, but keep the original couples, create drama around them, just don't break them up! They need to focus on real family drama, and not the crazy RoboRafe storyline, or anything even remotely as crazy as that. Sami needs to get Lucas back too, and he is also needed for Will's storyline. Characters I want back (in no particular order): Phillip, Lucas, Eric, Chelsea etc.
