blake, color me shocked that they aren't going to pair up Chad with Will. SO NOT!

I knew from jumpstreet when people were speculating on who the gay person would be that Days TPTB would NEVER let two characters from core families be gay and fall in love.

Never mind the fact that both Chad and Will had some serious mad chemistry between them.

And tptb claiming they didn't think the actor that plays Chad could pull if off is nothing but bullshit! They are just using that as an excuse because they are cowards.

Plus, I have no hope for this supposed it great storyline to really be great because the writers can't write decent and interesting storylines for man and woman couples on the show, so they really need to stop trying to insult our intelligence by thinking they are capable of pulling off a gay coming out storyline.

IT's gonna stink and I know I will be more pissed off than I already am for them not taking advantage of the amazingness that Chill and the fact they already have a big fanbase...freakin idiots.

I don't understand why you're so pissed off? We all basically knew from the beginning that they wouldn't pair them up. And I'm sorry, but it would be kinda hard to explain Chad being gay when he was together with Mia and had a kid with her. Plus, it's always Will lusting after Chad and not the other way around. Will sees Chad as something more than a friend, while Chad only sees Will as a friend. It's pretty obvious. It has always been Will lusting after Chad, not the ohther way around imo.

I mean.. I want Chill to happen as much as everyone else, but I can also see why the writers wouldn't do it. And i don't think it's because Casey Deidrick can't pull it off or because it's too much of a risk making both of them gay.. I think it's more the fact that Will has seemed gay from the get-go but Chad has ALWAYS seemed straight. Yes, they have amazing chemistry, not denying that.. but Will wants Chad more than the other way around.

Anyway.. I'll be happy as long as they use their chemistry in the storyline, make Will fall for Chad only for Chad to reject him and be kinda put off at first but then support him in his coming out and still continue to be his friend. Yeah, I want Chill to happen, but I'll be glad if hit happens kinda like this. It's the second best thing imo (after Chill). Will being gay is great, and Chandler Massey is a good actor and he'll pull it off for sure I think this storyline will be very cliché and soapy.. but I'd expect nothing less. This is a soap after all. I still think it's possible to do it well. 90210 is an example of that. It is done well and most people like it, even if most of it is cliché and done before. I'll just be happy as long as DAYS do this storyline realistic and as long as they respect the storyline and really are committed to telling it. They also need to find a guy that Will shares chemistry with. I think Will and this Ryan guy can work.

I won't write this storyline off before I see it. This soap means a lot to me, so I will give the writers the benefit of the doubt. Yeah, maybe the storyline will suck, or maybe it won't. We won't know until we see it though... I am excited for this storyline and I just hope they won't mess it up. It's about damn time we get gay characters on daytime again

Here's thing Days has nothing to gain and nothing to loose in this storyline and I'll tell you what I mean.Days probably want make it past 2013 for a couple of reasons the main one is that Days has hit rock bottom with their raitings.I mean a all time low also James Scott (EJ) just announced that he probably wouldn't renew his contract when it ends in 2013.He has sated that he wants to move to New Zealand he also says that he wants to quit acting so that right there tells me that something is up.This is what I think.Do I think that Days is going this for a rating boost?Yes but I also believe that Days wants to go out and say hey look we were not just a conservative soap were not afraid to tackle this type of storyline.These are just my thoughts.

I don't think that the negativity is necessary (partly to fact it got this thread closed for a bit), but I'm sure everyone wants Chill to happen. They have a fanbase, but I'm sure that the writers, let alone production costs will go up if they have bring in more teen characters. There are already 6, and I don't think they can afford to kick off more people to fit more in. If both Will and Chad become gay, then having Gabi and Abby would be filler characters. We have to think about the show as a whole, and I don't think they'd give up so much for one storyline. Philip is already gone, and he's an established character.

The pairings for the teens go like this:
Will and Gaby
Chad and Abby
Melanie and Dario (somewhat teens, but not really)

As you can see, there are only 4 teens on the soap. That's usually how many they have. If they were to pair up Will and Chad, there would leave Gaby and Abby to either leave the show, or have them get new love interests.

I think in a world where we want Chill to happen, Chad would first turn Will away. Then when he sees him and Ryan together, Chad would get jealous, and like Hollyoaks, fall in love with his best friend. It would make great T.V., sure, but practical for the network? Not so much.

As for the writers being able to pull it off and make it believable or even remotely interesting, yeah, no...that isn't going to happen. They are going to botch it up just like they do everything else.

Oh, trust, blake Days won't make it past 2013. They are going to be getting their pink slip in another year of that I have no doubt.

That's why I'm like if you're gonna do a gay storyline make it with characters that people are going to want to tune in to see and that have great chemistry and already a big following.

BUT, what would happen to Gabi and Abby? They are new to the show, why would they add them to the main cast to just get rid of them? You need to think of the big picture, and a more practical approach to this in the case of the writers. You're just stating what you want, and nothing else.

We know that Will isn't going to have sex with Gabi, and that supposedly Days is looking for another person to be paired up with the person who turns out to be gay. We don't even have solid proof it's Will. It's obvious yes, but not slated in stone.

And nothing else, nothing about Chad whatsoever. We know the soap isn't doing well, and we know that they've been renewed to 2013. Your negativity will just get the thread closed once again, because we're discussing about a show that hasn't even established the storyline yet.

I never said Chad can't be gay.. I only mean that it's less likely. Also, no spoilers indicate the fact that Chad is gay. And when I said that I feel the lusting is only a one way thing, that's still how I feel.. maybe you don't agree, pru, but I just stated my opinion. Like I said, I want Chill as much as anyone else, but I can also see from the writers point of view and why they wouldn't go with Chill. It would be a harder sell if they were to make Chad gay. He has only had girlfriends, and even had a kid with Mia. Yes, it's not impossible that he's gay, but it would make it harder to explain for sure. On the other hand, Will has seemed gay all along. There's no chemistry between him and Gabbi, they have never slept together and it seems like he's more interested in giving her jewlery than taking it to the next level. Will being gay makes sense. Chad? hmm.. they would have to explain that, because like I said, it doesn't make much sense. Besides.. making both Will and Chad gay would mean they have no guys left for Gabbi or Abby, so it wouldn't be much practical.

Again, I want Chill as much as everyone else, but I can also see why the writers wouldn't got for Chill and I respect it. I think this thing with Ryan can work, it definitely has potential. I like the fact that Ryan is openly gay too. I just hope they will use their chemistry in Will's coming out, and that Chad will be there to support him and continue to be his friend. I'd be perfectly happy if they did that. It's the second best thing after Chill imo, just to have Chad as a support and as a good friend for Will while he's coming out.

June? We have to wait that long? I'd hoped it would start playing out in mid-to-late May. Wasn't it being reported as a May Sweeps storyline? Well, Sweeps (which started on Thursday) end on May 25. Or maybe they intend to milk it for the July Sweeps (starts at the end of June).

The new SID confirms (according to their sources) that DOOL is doing a gay love story and they are casting a teenager tied to a core family to be the love interest. It doesn't say whether it will be Will or Chad (though we know it's going to be Will) though they talk to both actors who say they'd be happy to play a gay role.

Hmm.. who can it be? who will be the love interest? he's tied to a core family, which is good, but I have no idea who it is!

Seriously, this show tapes at least six weeks in advance. If they haven't cast this guy yet, he won't show up onscreen until mid-June at the earliest.)

Now as to his identity ... Will is a member of both the Brady and Horton families, so he can't really get a love interest from either family (of course, there are members of both families who are biologically unrelated to Will, if they go that route). I can't think of anyone in the DiMera clan either, short of introducing yet another long-lost son of Stefano's. The Kiriakises are a pretty small family and I can't think of anyone there either. They are trying to push the Hernandez family forward but they just introduced Dario so another brother or cousin seems excessive (although great drama for Will/Gabi). Who else is left?

I have no idea who his love interest will be to be honest, but it makes sense if it starts mid-June, considering his storyline with Gabi not wanting to have sex etc will probably last at least through May and probably beginning of June too.

Hey there guys I have some info first off let me say that I'm sorry for not writing in more but I'm starting up vocal lessons and by the time I get home.And get ready for the next day I'm so tired but today I have an off day so here goes I was told that this is going to be a big storyline for Days this summer. The reason why they choose the Summer is because they wanted to focus on the teens and they know that with summer vacation that would be the perfect time to do this storyline.He said for the month May is the ground work for Will's storyline meaning this your going to be seeing Will struggle alot with his sexuality through the month of May.He also said that they may show us the viewers at home that Will is gay at the end of the month maybe even sooner like the middle of the month.I was also told that Will beging a Catholic they may show him struggle between his religion and his sexuality.I also asked him about how will Sami react to Will beging gay?He said that he wasn't giving a clear answer on that but he said that he would image that she would be shocked but he said remrember Sami loves Will no matter what.He also said that there are alot of people saying that Will will be gay one day and straight the next.He said that Will will be GAY and not turn staright within the next 6 months I had to ask him about Chad he said that he heard they were planning on paring up Abby and Chad. I'll keep you updated as I hear more.

If anyone watched TV today, Will's storyline kicked off! It's only a few minutes on screen, but you cab totally see Will being nervous about bringing Gabi back to the apartment alone. Well most all people are nervous their first time, so that could be it too... Just kidding!

Is anyone uploading this storyline to Youtube? Because the guy (girl?) uploading all of Will's scenes hasn't done it in weeks, and I know for a fact he has had screen time over the past few weeks. If not, then could someone PLEASE start to upload this storyline? Maybe we could even ask Anthony? I think a lot of people want to watch it, so I'm just wondering

And I gotta say.. for all of the negativity that has surrounded this storyline, it sounds good to me. Yep, cliché, but of course it will be kinda cliché.. this is a soap after all.. every storyline is full of drama and over the top. I don't mind it being kinda the same old usual coming out as long as it is done well.. and many gay storylines are similar, but that doesn't mean they are similar in all aspects, and this storyline will probably do something different sooner or later. Anyway, my point is just that it sounds good. Will's coming out sounds really good. 90210 was also kinda done before and nothing new and cliché, but people tune in because they like the actors, the characters and because the story is done well, even if it kinda has been done before.

It's so nice to watch the start of a storyline.
And i think it's a really good idea to choose summer to develop the storyline, Nuke storyline started on summer and it was a big success, and there are other paralelism, because Luke was a regular character the same way Will is, the difference is Luke had a long arc for his coming out before they really do the summer storyline (with the love triangle with Maddie).

Watching some clips, it's quite obvious the actor played the character to be gay from the begining because there are too many things to be casual

Unfortunately Will hasn't been on lately. Which is weird, because his mom is going through so much. The teens aren't really a weekly thing on Days, and usually it has to be connected with the adults everytime. For example, in the case of Chad, it all focused on his paternity with his biological father, Stefano. Once Chad found Stefano, we barely see him on screen, maybe 1-3 times a month.

As for Will, the last time we saw him that pertained to him and focused on him was during Christmas, where he gave Gabi this necklace or something. After that, nothing really.

I really do hope that the Summer is the season for the teens, not only Will, but all 4 of them. I've only started watching Days, and it seems like they focus more on the adults rather than the teens. With most other soaps, they focused on everyone somewhat equally.

Like in ATWT, the teen group got cut badly once everyone left and graduated. Will and Gwen left, and that left Luke and Noah. Then Casey and Allison joined that group, then it quickly went to focus on Liberty and Parker a lot. But I remember tuning in at least once a week or so that Nuke was on or Casey and Alli were also on.

Right now GH and AMC don't seem to have any teens on their soaps. OLTL and Days are the only ones where the teens actually have storylines. I hope that Days puts this in the frontburner with the rest of their storylines, because the ones on T.V. are really not interesting. Their pacing in some storylines are almost glacial, so I wouldn't be surprised if this one was also.
