To be honest I don't think the showrunner would know better than any of us do about why Will acts the way he does, lol. I watched this show religiously for years, and to be honest I think the writers are just winging it most of the time. It can be frustrating to watch for sure. Luckily it can make for some pretty amusing scenes as well

I guess I kind of agree with some of the things you've said, but Nicole and Lincoln are definitely not snakes/duplicitous. People make bad decisions all the time, act selfishly, etc without intending to hurt anyone, it doesn't merit writing them off as "snakes". Lincoln, for whatever reason, could not decide whether he wanted to be with Nicole or Jack and that made him turn to drugs again leading him to become more dependent on them. Nicole has made some pretty idiotic/selfish decisions as well - she for some reason couldn't admit her feelings for Vinnie and decided to throw herself into a relationship with Harper, but she didn't intend or want to hurt anyone. She's been pretty selfish lately as well but she's a sweet woman - just very lonely after her bizarre breakup with Vinnie which has led her to try to latch onto Lincoln and take advantage of his feelings for her. Lincoln was not on the show for long but Nic has been on since 2009 and she's always been kind of a mess from the start, but definitely not a bad person. Most people on the show really aren't bad people - even Zoe - she was so insufferable for most of her run but she was hardly a "snake", she was just selfish/immature. And even Finn - what he did was unforgivable and despicable - but even he left the show as a reformed man. Some people on this show were just straight up awful vile people (like Mason Coutts, Dylan Reinhart, Dom Thompson, Joey Henderson, Ethan Pierce, etc etc) but Lincoln and Nicole are certainly not in that category.

I totally agree. So is that it for Lincoln? Why does it seem like everyone is jumping ship from this show? In the past year we've lost Finn, Curtis, Ali, Mo, Vinnie, Frank, Sass and now Lincoln. Have I missed anyone? Meanwhile the storyline quality seems to be circling the drain

Punching someone is hardly the same as pulling out a knife and stabbing someone in the chest, but I see your point. Perhaps you can also explain why Lincoln randomly tore off his clothes and threw himself at Charlie the other day?
My criticism isn't really that it is totally unbelievable, but that the storytelling is poor. Seriously, shoving this in an episode in which Nicole's baby dies, Lincoln is fired from his job after being arrested, Jack finds out that Lincoln cheated on him, etc etc etc? Combine that with some subpar acting (even by my standards!) and this is what you get. I'm dying to know where they're planning to go with this. Perhaps the writers took up meth themselves while writing this episode? Whatever, I guess we're just along for the ride.
To be honest I didn't take Jason's return terribly seriously (come on, he tells a bizarre story about his parents having left him alone for a few days and all is forgiven? Stranger things have happened, I guess). I thought it was meant to be a joke - Jason had the most hilarious lines ("One day bingo and I just flew out of that cuckoo's nest!" "Plus they gave me these great little pills, did the trick like nobody's business." "Zip it sweetie") and Thomas Sainsbury's performance seemed more campy than anything else IMO.

Yeah that totally came out of nowhere. And it didn't make sense - Charlie has never been violent. It reeked of contrivance. I thought they tried to shove in too much stuff in today's episode. It's sad when they rush through the drama in this way, it never works out well.

So depressing. Ugh. Everyone keeps dying, and now Lincoln gets arrested for drug possession? Wow.

LOL at Lincoln trying to pull a "Big Love", wanting Nicole and Jack to share him. I can only imagine how he envisioned this working

They did already. I downloaded 9 eps few days ago and im on ep 3 now. Does it live up to the hype? The trailer looks good but I get really skeptical when I read hyperbole like "NSFW gay sex which a conservative mother can watch without batting an eyelid". Either the sex scenes aren't NSFW or the mother isn't remotely conservative - both cannot be true! And since gay visibility is so poor in India (have they even decriminalized it yet? They keep going back and forth on the matter) I lean towards the former. The very suggestion of gay sex would be considered NSFW in a country where it's illegal! India decriminalised gay sex on 6 September 2018. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGBT_rights_in_India

Ugh at that point I would just stop watching the show entirely. I am a loyal viewer (watched 2004 episodes onwards), but the show has been so boring/tedious since the new season started, and we've lost so many core characters in the past year that it's already becoming hard to watch.

Wow, I didn't know this was a pattern. That's awful. I don't get how this type of story appeals to people.

Blue is off flatting in a different part of town, which in Ferndale world means that he can't be seen associating with his family

Also, Claire's acting is hardly convincing. Did you see the faces she was making in the season finale episode?

It's all very forced. It's like everyone's forgotten that Jack has only been sober for about a month. None of this is believable. Lincoln saw what a disaster Jack was. So why on earth would he propose marriage, and not only agree to jointly purchase a flat, but also agree to have a child? They were already barely able to afford the apartment, and Jack has very little income if any. If there is any way to send a recovering addict straight back to drugs, this is it. Not to mention the death of his father.
Give me a break!

Yeah there is some unreliable information online about the show for some reason. I'd rather forget about those characters anyway, I thought they were horrible! Historically the show has struggled to introduce likeable gay male characters. Remember Hugo from 2005? ugh I frankly don't remember Hugo at all - and googling him didn't help. I only watched Shortland Street clips through Anthony's posts. Yeah googling “Hugo Shortland street” yields some restaurant results for some reason. See here en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Shortland_Street_characters_(2005)#Hugo_CarmontIt was a long time ago. I only know about this because I've watched a lot of the old episodes. Shorty was good back then - just not with this character. He was another stalker/psycho gay character, which I can't stand.

Seth was temporarily director of the Hospital back in 2012 - Henry was a nurse and his boyfriend. I vaguely remember the storyline - I think Seth wanted to privatize the hospital and there was a lot of drama and backstabbing - as one of the other characters was competing with him to be director. Henry did some spying for Seth. Henry's brief bio: www.wikiwand.com/en/List_of_Shortland_Street_characters_(2012)#/Henry_Leeand a picture: At one point Anthony had clips for them posted at one of his channels. Henry was the PA, not a nurse.

So Link had sex with Nicole. Ugh. I hope that this is just because of the MDMA and not because they're going to be "in love" or some BS. I generally like this show but their record on gay male characters is pretty bad (Henry and Seth come to mind and both were repulsive characters)
