It carries on, because after you meet the newest character in Spring, Jay Bell spins off two minor characters from that book into Lightning and the upcoming Something Like Thunder. I just love when a an author can create their own worlds and can connect all the characters in some way or another. Ya, it's really great I can't wait to find out more about them! Spring and Lightning just arrived.

Well, you have your opinion, and I have mine. to be honest I really disliked Jace in SLS and it took me to reading SLA to warm up to him. For me tho, he still pales in comparison to Tim. Even if you did read them out of order, you've clearly really liked Jace. So even if you did read them in order I doubt you'd have liked Tim as much. To each their own right I guess so, haha. Anyway, something I forgot to say in the other post: is it just me or are the supporting characters just freakin' fantastic? After Jace, my favorite characters are Allison and Greg, and even Tim's Nana although we don't see much of her. They are so funny, caring, and understanding. I want my own Allison/Greg!

SPOILERS for Something Like Summer: Well Tim was my favorite from the moment he showed up. i never let go ofthat favoritism. Even when he did what he did to Ben, he was still my favorite. Like you saw Jace's side of the story in Autumn, you also saw Tim's in Winter. In some ways, I think Ben was wrong in the beginning as well. You can't really push someone out of the closet if they're not ready.
Jace is a good guy, and he made a perfect boyfriend/husband for Ben. He was probably just what Ben needed in his life. I just could not stop rooting for Tim nd Ben to be together again. I feel like Jay Bell spent so much time developing that relatonship in Summer(pretty much 100 pages, and the relationship between Ben and Jace was about 50 pages.) it was really hard for me to let go...and I didn't. I would talk about Winter to back up my unwavering Love for Tim, but I don't want to spoil it for you. So, I am just a little more than halfway done with SLW and I don't know why but so far I am having trouble liking Tim. : Like I said, I haven't finished it yet but Tim is ... I don't know... I just don't like him... not to say that I hate him. My mind isn't set yet since I'm waiting til the end to give my final judgment but something about trying to steal someone's boyfriend just isn't for me, no matter how much you love them or think that they are the one. I'm not sure what Tim wants. Sometimes I feel like he really really loves Ben but at times I feel like he's just afraid of being alone and that no one would ever love him like Ben did. Maybe it's a little of both... but I kept asking myself to what extent did Tim love Ben when he was with Travis (although he did compare them), I remember him saying that Travis had the potential to be someone special. And then the relationship he had with Eric, although looking at it from Eric's point of view it was probably only platonic on his part but Tim said himself that he didn't know what their relationship was. Was he maybe looking for more (he did confess he would have slept with Eric)? Also, the phrase about learning to fly wasn't in this book, or hasn't shown up yet. I thought it would be important? Edit: So I finished the book and I think there might be something wrong with me. Maybe it's because I read the books out of order but I don't know... : Throughout the book, I kept waiting for moments that would tug at my heart. SLW dealt with common themes of SLS and SLA but somehow I found myself indifferent. Sure I understand how difficult Tim's life had become after parting ways with Ben and it was heart warming that he and Ben found their way back to each other but like they had done so many times about each other, I kept wondering how things would be if Jace had not died. That's the part that gets me. The only parts of the story that my heart threatened to rip out of my chest were when Ben and Tim were in Mexico and Ben was talking about when Jace died. and of course Samson's death, poor thing Like I said earlier, maybe it's because I read Jace's story before Tim's? The last part of the book showed all the growth that Tim had done and he turned into an amazing man but my heart still holds true to Jace. I really did start to warm up to Tim at the end though, mostly because he finally started to let go of Ben so that he could be happy with Jace, even if it hurt him.
Some of the things Tim said sticks to me, though. Probably the most bittersweet line of all of SLW:"I'd say they were made for each other, but it's more like Ben was made for me, and Jace was made for him."I guess I will have to wait now for Something Like Spring and Lightning.

So SLW still hasn't arrived but in the meantime, Don't Let me Go by J.H Trumble arrived yesterday and I spent the whole night reading it. Although I had some trouble getting into the groove of things, I eventually was immersed in the book. It was a bit disarraying because (mostly at the beginning and spread out through the middle) the book jumps from past to present fairly often. This book is a YA novel about a gay teen, Nathan (Nate) Schaper, and his insecurities and troubles that arise from his boyfriend Adam moving to New York. Although there was a tad bit too much drama at times (at least for me that is) and many times I found myself disliking certain characters to the point I wish I could slap some sense into them: Spoiler [NATE I'M LOOKING AT YOU], I cared enough about them that I felt for them. The book features some really interesting supporting characters, my favorite being Danial, who was just all sorts of fun.
Anyway, all in all, I wouldn't say this novel is a must read but it is a great story of love, loss, friendship, and finding yourself. Definitely recommend.

Yeah, I'm totally obsessed as well when I heard it was being turned into a movie. I literally screamed. At first I was a Tim fan but then I read Something Like Autumn and totally fell in love with Jace's character (haha, it feels strange to say something like that). Well, hopefully after reading Something Like Winter you will return to being a Tim fan Alot of people seemed to be moved by Autumn. For me, it just let me like Jace since I kind of didn't like him in Summer. He was too perfect and also was the big road block between my OTP Tim and Ben reuniting. I'll be writing in white now, don't want to spoil it for anyone else thinking about picking up the series.Sorry in advanced because I'm not so good with words. SPOILER ALERT: So, throughout the first part of the book when Ben was still in high school, I obviously was rooting for Tim. Mostly because he was the only serious love interest for Ben. He was just that guy, a fantasy. You sort of expect them to end up together. But then when Ben met Jace I was so happy. Yeah, he seemed perfect in Summer but I believe that was only because we didn't get his side of the story. Even so, I felt that he really loved Ben and that's why he forgave him for everything he did. SLS was definitely geared more towards Ben and Tim, you barely learn anything about Jace at all and maybe that's why so many people have the perception that he was too perfect because all the things we learn about him were through actions that we had no idea what motivated them. Reading Autumn, you really get to see why Jace is how he is, as expected from a prequel-sequel. All the things Jace went through with Victor and Adrien made him strive for more, something real, that thing he had wanted from the very beginning of the book: happiness, commitment, marriage, a future.
All the insecurities Jace had when Tim showed up in their lives was shown in Autumn. He wanted to be caring and understanding so that Ben could see he really loved him and trusted him even when at times he didn't feel so. It's a strange desperation to keep hold of something so dear to you. If I recall correctly, almost immediately after meeting Ben, Jace had a conversation with Greg that he thought Ben could be the one. It was so cute of him to believe in them so early on. You could definitely say that my OTP was Jace/Ben.
The end really teared me up. Even though I knew what was coming, the end was just too much... the last sentence of SLA... Gosh Jay Bell, just kill me now (obviously not before I read the other books, haha).

So, I just watched all 8 episodes of Hunting Season. I like the characters but I'm conflicted because they all seem so... whore-ish minus Nick that is. I mean, they are all great eye candy but...
Still, Ben Baur is something else. Haha, I think I'm in love.

I thought Ben Baur looked familiar. He got cast as Jace Holden (whom I love! love! LOVE!) in Something Like Summer. He's such a hottie! Do not get me started on the Something Like Summer movie...I'm obsessed...OBSESSED!!!! I love those books sooo much. I really hope they do it justice. Besides the fact that he is tiny, he is perfect as Jace. Gotta say I'm a Tim fan though. XD Yeah, I'm totally obsessed as well when I heard it was being turned into a movie. I literally screamed. At first I was a Tim fan but then I read Something Like Autumn and totally fell in love with Jace's character (haha, it feels strange to say something like that).

I just finished Something Like Summer by Jay Bell in about 10 hours, since I could not put it down. (It is also being made into a movie by the makers of Judas Kiss) Anyone else read it? I'm looking into getting the follow up books Something Like Winter and Something Like Autumn, which are not sequels but in the same world. ( Something Like Spring is forthcoming) I finished Something Like Summer a few days ago and immediately ordered Something Like Winter and Something Like Autumn. I'm not sure about Something Like Spring because I fell in love with the characters of the other books and it seems that they are only minor characters in the SLS. Anyway, I absolutely love these books (am almost done with SLA and waiting for SLW to arrive)! Something Like Summer is also being adapted into a film. I believe it has a kickstarter somewhere (bleh sorry too lazy to look for it! )

MTV's Faking It is about two average girls, Amy and Karma (played by Rita Volk and Katie Stevens respectively), who attend a school where being different makes you more popular. After many attempts and failures to solidify a place with the popular crowd, they are outted as a lesbian couple by the most popular boy in school, who also happens to be gay, Shane (Michael J Willett). In order to maintain that popularity, the girls play along. The 8 episode first season ended in June and it is renewed for a 10 episode second season.

I'm hoping that Brett will play a bigger part as well, it'd be interesting to see Mason with Brett while Brett and Liam still hate each other! Maybe he will jump from his pack to Scott's after the Benefactor has his way with Brett's pack (or something of that sort).

I didn't mind the fact that he was often awkward (along with some of the humor). I think what bothered me was that he just came across as quite self-centered in season 1, at least enough to turn me off of the character. To be fair, most of the characters had some significant personality ... quirks . I totally agree.

A time jump is a little different, but could be good. Season 1 was fine, but to be honest I didn't find the Josh character to be particularly likeable. I hope it's a little better in season 2, but from that clip I would guess it'll be the same. I guess we'll see. I actually agree, I thought I was the only one who didn't like Josh. It isn't to say he is a bad person but I definitely wouldn't say he is a good one either. I thought he had finally changed when he started crying after the funeral but I was wrong... Hopefully S2 will have some character development for him.

Is the new cutie, Liam gay? I remember a scene in the other trailer in which he angrily asked if his friend thought the opposing player was hot. Cuz, I'd be totes fine with a cutie like that

To be honest, I thought I wouldn't like this show because I'm not a fan of Sex & the City, but the show has proven me wrong. I'm hoping that the show won't get dropped.

No, the remake doesn't follow the UK version at all. Mickey appears a lot sooner and he is very different. And i doubt (and hope) they don't follow the same pattern with Ian either I hope they don't, I was really disappointed in how things turned out.

I think I saw in a spoiler somewhere that says Rock Young will make Mane realize something? Maybe what he realizes is that being in the closet is a hard act to keep up and he will come out I'm dying to see what happens now.

I just started following this story a couple days ago and I really like Ian's character. I think he is also really cute But am I the only one who thinks it's weird/awkward that Ian always hooks up with guys a lot older than himself? I guess he has a type? But it's going to get very awkward by the end of season 2! I can't wait to see what happens in season 3. Yes, it is. If the remake follows the UK version exactly I can't wait for it either! Well... minus what happens way later on.
