From Jack Thorne (creator of The Fades and writer for Skins) comes a new E4 drama where a group of teenage friends in a farming community find themselves embroiled in murder. Imagine a more homicidal Skins, transplated into the English countryside. The series is quite gritty and sexy (as evidenced by a good dose of full-frontal nudity) but I did find it low on humour. I suppose that's only to be expected given the whole murder angle. I had a sneaking suspicion that there would be a gay character and have not been disappointed, although the reveal only came in the fifth episode, which aired this week. (The series consists of a total of 8 episodes.) I don't want to give any spoilers given the nature of the reveal, but here are the 5 male characters in the series (presented alphabetically). Cal (Tommy Lawrence Knight) Dom (Tommy McDonnell) Eli (Callum Turner) James (Billy Howle) Rob (Jordan Stephens) SPOILER for Episode 5: [ Cal and James are romantically involved. Unfortunately, Cal is the murder victim and James is suspected of killing him on a drug trip.] I'm not sure if we'll see more of the gay relationship but it's a promising series nonetheless. I'm glad to see E4 dabble in teen-centric programming again, which I've found quite lacking since the end of Skins. Glue airs Monday nights on E4, for the next three weeks.

Thanks justinate, for posting about Glue. Looks like a very attractive cast. I'm definitely gonna check it out. Spoiler: Too bad about Cal and James... that's pretty sad.

This show is an absolute must watch!!! It's gritty and gets you from the first second. I'm so sad it's only 8 episodes. The first 5 have been great. The 5th episode is the best so far.

If Cal is suppose to be fourteen, how old is James? At the time james was 17 when it started cause they just celebrated his 18th birthday. It seems to be a running thread for people to think that they were too far apart In Age and technically a physical relationship would have been illegal. I still think they are adorable and seem well matched emotionally. Cal seems older that he was. Maybe growing up in the country and working on the farm and with animals makes everyone in the town very close nit. I really want to know how this will all end now.

Just watched last nights ep; I don't know how to make the text so you can only read by highlighting... so I won't give everything away, next week is the last episode, am looking forward to what happens next.
Ruth works out who killer is, Tina and Eli officially get together and plan to go to Ireland together. James was let out of prison and had some really funny moments with Rob, Rob also had some good classic humour with Annie. At the end Eli looks as though he changes his mind about leaving with Tina and what he is about to do next was left a little cliffhanger-ish. The last moments were a flashback to Cal meeting up with someone.... no idea who.
Can't wait until next Monday

Just watched the latest episode. It was really good. I loved James scene with rob particularly. It was really funny and heart warming all at the same time. Shows what great friends they really are. The scene with rob and annie was also sweet and funny. Tina and eli make me smile but im not sure how tha will all work out. A big reveal about eli in the episode is a little concearning. The cliffhanger ending made me really wanting more. Can't believe the show is over next week.

Sad that this show is coming to an end and it seems won't be released on DVD due to low ratings. I waited so long for the British channels to get back to this kind of programming since Skins ended and it seems it was a flop, which will discourage any further ventures. Such a shame. I felt this was a great little show - even before factoring in the gay romance and nudity. I mean, a murder mystery, gritty teen drama, gloriously shot, with a (mostly) strong cast, cute boys kissing and getting their bits out - what more do people want?!!

Moonstruck Me's channel (which provided clips of Jude and Zero) is attempting to upload clips from Glue.
Here are James's first scenes:

New clip courtesy of Moonstruck Me (which I believe is Nanii's channel): You're correct, kevvoi. I'll try to get the other videos uploaded as soon as possible, but Youtube has been making it a bit difficult for me... Hope to get episode 4 up in the morning but episode 5 will take a while because the video is 16 minutes long (Yay! Lots of James - and Cal). But I'm working on it!

Maybe it will get another series. So who was the killer in the end? And what was the motive?

Thanks Nanii - I'd watched it once when it aired but couldn't resist the rewatch from your clip! That was some really passionate kissing. You're welcome. Glad you made me aware of the show - I really like it! Glad to be of service - I'm pleased to find a fellow fan and thank you for helping to bring this great little show (or at least James's storyline) to audiences outside the UK. I think we should delay discussion of the killer until after Nanii has posted the finale clip, in deference to those without 4oD who are following the storyline via her channel. I am absolutely bursting to discuss the final reveal (and the series as a whole) but I will hold my tongue a little longer! Sadly, a second series is very unlikely due to the low ratings. It's not the kind of series that could bring in revenue from overseas either. Financially, Channel 4 probably won't see the point in bringing it back for another series. Our only hope is if they recognize the rarity of the genre and the strength of (some of) the actors.
