Shocked beyond belief that the show's new stud will be gay. Really surprised.
That said, given the show's current setup, there really aren't any women to pair him with. So I guess it's not that much of a surprise.

Agree with the above. However, I actually thought the show's been dropping hints for a while now. Not only did we have Nate and Imogen discussing the Brennan brothers, but the fact that Nate's just become a trainee manager at the Waterhole and is getting back into the dating game when Aaron arrives as a stripper there isn't exactly a coincidence. Looking forward to seeing how this unfolds.
In the meantime, the drama has only just begun for Nate based on the spoilers below (highlight to read):
Wednesday 3rd June 2015- 7138: Sheila offers The Waterhole as a venue for a LGBTI fundraiser. After Sonya urges Toadie, Kyle and Nate to go out for the evening, the boys try to cook up something exciting to do - such as being wingmen for the single Nate.
Monday 8th June 2015- 7141: Nate unwittingly puts himself in grave danger.
Tuesday 9th June 2015-7142: Nate helps Tyler and Paige out of a tight situation.
Friday, 12th June 2015 – 7145: Nate's date with Brett takes a surprising turn when Alistair rocks up.
Here’s an article expanding on some of the spoilers above:
Nate's bid to jump back into the dating pool yields attention from an unexpected quarter.
Sheila's recent efforts to challenge Nate to move on from Chris and get back into the dating game finally pay off when Nate accidentally stumbles into Sheila's fundraiser for the Eden Hills University LGBTI Society.
With Kyle (Chris Milligan) and Toadie (Ryan Moloney) tagging along as wingmen, Nate (Meyne Wyatt) awkwardly attracts the attention of Brett, a uni student and is privately thrilled when they arrange a date. However, Nate suffers agonising nerves which aren't made any easier when Alistair Hall (Nick Cain) walks into Off-Air and stares at Nate. Immediately recognising Alistair as the guy who harangued him with homophobic abuse at The Waterhole weeks ago, Nate is on edge and constantly distracted from Brett as he frets about Alistair's reaction to his presence. Although a nearby Kyle warns Alistair to leave, Alistair loiters around the bar, his ominous presence eventually prompting an irritated Brett to leave.
Outraged by Alistair's behaviour, Nate blasts him for his actions but is taken aback when Alistair is surprisingly apologetic over their previous run-in. Before Nate can respond, Alistair envelopes him in a passionate kiss and runs off!
Suitably perplexed by this enigmatic stranger, Nate debriefs with Susan (Jackie Woodburne) and contemplates her suggestion that maybe Alistair's advances were genuine. Still thinking that Alistair was playing mind games with him out of homophobic spite, Nate is cautious when Alistair apologises for his behaviour again, claiming that he has no memory of the kiss.
After concluding that Alistair is gay but in denial, Nate extends him the hand of friendship only to be flabbergasted by a stunning turn of events that totally twists everything he thinks he knows about the guy.

Wow, there are a lot of spoilers, and they were certainly unexpected! We can hardly accuse the show of not using Nate now, can we? However, I’m not thrilled about him being caught up in the Dimato storyline (since it’s been dragging on for ages now), but if he’s going to be responsible for bringing it to an end, I’m all for him being involved.
Although homophobia storylines are never fun, I actually thought last week's episode was handled quite well. It wasn’t explicit (then again, this show never is) in its dialogue or intentions which was refreshing (obviously based on the spoilers, things aren’t quite what they seem with Alistair). Plus, they actually explored – albeit briefly – the fact that Nate was a gay soldier, which clearly people have different attitudes towards. Nate’s reaction once he realised his mistake was adorable and something that anyone can relate to: apologising but using a dry humour as well, which is great and refreshing to see. I’m not sure whose side in the Susan v Sheila debate I take: Sheila does have a point about Nate dating, but Susan was right that it wasn’t Sheila’s place to judge (ironically though, Susan should take her own advice). However, we should have seen Nate’s inner conflict rather than the one between Susan and Sheila to give us more of an idea about his mind-set. There were also a lot of Chris mentions (obviously) again, which are always lovely, though I did feel a sense of déjà vu with Georgia: she kept reiterating that her departure was only temporary and that she’d be coming back, but I kept thinking ‘well, that’s exactly what Chris said and look what happened there’. I’ll miss her though, and it’s made me concerned about what they’ll do with Kyle now that he’s in an off-screen marriage.

On a shallow note, Aaron should have been paired with Chris. Imagine the hotness. Talk about missed opportunity. I am sorry, I just can't get into Nate, he just doesn't appeal me to continue watching the show. I just hope they don't pair up Aaron with Nate just because Nate is the only gay character around. But then, it's Neighbours we are talking about, so it's a shoe-in they will get paired up.

Wow, last week’s episode was hilarious. I expected some comedy because Kyle and Toadie were involved, but I didn’t expect the whole thing to be as funny as it was. However, I don’t know whether I’m convinced that Kyle wouldn’t know what LGBTI stood for, considering that he was best friends with Chris for years – wouldn’t he have some idea at least? But Sheila getting it mixed up was so comical. Meyne has definitely proved himself with comedy, and his whole performance was so natural - he needs more scenes with Kyle and Toadie now. Plus, the whole idea of Kyle and Toadie being wingmen for Nate was actually heart-warming as well as funny; them (and Sheila) being so enthusiastic about helping him to pick up guys was lovely to watch.

Here are the Nate and Aaron related spoilers for upcoming episodes (highlight below to read):
Monday 15th June 2015- 7146: Nate discovers Alistair's double life.
Tuesday 16th June 2015- 7147: Mark almost discovers the truth about Tyler, whilst the third Brennan brother makes a surprising appearance at Sheila's bingo night.
Wednesday 17th June 2015- 7148: Aaron happily reconnects with his two brothers.
Thursday 18th June 2015- 7149: Tyler causes trouble as he tries to push a mismatched Nate and Aaron into a date, which backfires when they have nothing in common.
Monday 22nd June 2015- 7151: Nate is forced to hide a shocking secret when he makes a discovery about Susan's latest wedding client.
Tuesday 23rd June 2015- 7152: Mark reveals to Aaron he has feelings for Paige and wants to be with her again. Alistair confronts Susan and threatens to make a formal complaint about her.
That was quite an interesting week in regards to Nate: I’m glad that the Dimato storyline is (supposedly) over now, and I’m pleased that the show didn’t put Nate down the same route as they did with Chris by having him hospitalised for something that wasn’t his fault, and instead having him use his military training to defend himself. I assume that it’s left to the audience to figure out how Nate will get the money to pay them off, though it’s probably from his savings combined with the money from his new job. By the way, kudos to Nick Cain (Alistair) for his performance. He played the confused jerk really well, and his sincerity during the apology scene was well done – as was the kiss (which I hope is going to be indicative of what the show might do sometime down the track). It’ll be interesting to see where the show goes with Alistair from here, but I hope it doesn’t end up unresolved like the Scotty storyline a couple of years ago.
Here’s one last article teasing Aaron’s arrival : A surprise visitor to Erinsborough proves as shocking for the girls as it does for the boys
Just when you thinking two Brennan brothers were as good as it got, a third enters the scene. Life just gets that bit sweeter.
In Neighbours this week, Sheila (Colette Mann) comes up with a plan to beat the pants of her competition at Off Air. It's a charity bingo night with a twist: male strippers!
When the show kicks off, Tyler (Travis Burns) and Mark (Scott McGregor) discover the identity of one of the dancers. It's their middle brother Aaron (Matt Wilson)! Mark later explains to Tyler he'd called Aaron and asked him to come to Erinsborough to help cheer him up.
Aww, if that isn't brotherly love, we don't know what is!
The only problem? Never in a million years did Mark think Aaron would be working as an exotic dancer at The Waterhole! Tyler thinks his brother being a stripper is the funniest thing he's seen but Mark can't manage a smile. He doesn't understand why Aaron changed his career without telling him. When he points out brothers are meant to know what's going on with on another, Tyler's guilt over his own secret begins to nag at him. Will he finally tell Mark the truth about his shady dealings with dodgy businessman Dimato (David Serafin)?

Here are the Nate and Aaron related spoilers for upcoming episodes (highlight below to read): Monday 22nd June 2015- 7151: Nate's love life takes another twist when Susan's newest wedding client, Coco Lee, arrives to discuss officiating at the nuptials and shows a shocked Nate a photo of her fiancé.
Tuesday 23rd June 2015- 7152: Susan is shocked when she receives an official complaint against her as a celebrant.
Thursday 25th June 2015- 7154: Tyler and Nate discover Kyle collapsed in his yard and rush him to hospital.
Tuesday 30th June 2015- 7157: Nate works to get the Kennedy's behind Tyler. Wednesday 1st July 2015- 7158: Tyler loses it at Karl, whilst Nate and Aaron clash over Alistair.
Friday 3rd July 2015- 7160: Nate and Aaron are forced to work together.
Here's an extract from an article for upcoming episodes involving the Brennan brothers (Nate is also involved): Aaron warns Mark emphatically that hooking up with Paige now would be a seriously uncool thing to do to Tyler but Mark is unable to stop himself from sharing a tender - but all to brief - kiss with Paige. Consumed with guilt, Mark reluctantly has to cool things with Paige and tell her they will get back together one day but just not yet. Conflict between the brothers is averted for the moment but this love triangle is surely going to blow up and cause a huge divide sooner rather than later.
In the meantime, Karl discovers that someone has been stealing from his prescription pad to buy, strong, addictive painkiller. t first he suspects Nate of being the culprit but Tyler finally bites the bullet and confesses to Karl. H hopes they can avoid getting the police involved but it's too late - Karl has already reported the theft to Mark.
Mark is stunned by Tyler's confession but is quick to grow suspicious of Tyler's claim that he needed the painkillers because he was injured in a bike accident. After some digging, Mark reaches what he thinks can be the only logical reason for Tyler's behaviour: Tyler was approached by Dimato (David Serafin) to use the garage as a front for the chop shop and when he refused, was beaten as punishment. Mark demands that Tyler put him in touch with Stubbsy, the garage's fictional owner but Tyler can finally no longer bear to keep lying to his brother. Ashamed and exhausted from all the lies, Tyler makes a shocking confession: Stubbsy doesn't exist and Tyler is working for Dimato. Feeling betrayed and full of anger, Mark can't believe that his brother has actually been working against him for months. He arrests Tyler and takes him to the station for further questioning, prompting Aaron to step in and urge Mark to soften his stance and act as a brother as well as a cop. A furious Mark refuses to diverge from his hardliner stance and the tension between the brothers is just about to reach breaking point.
Meanwhile, Tyler is less interested in defending himself than he is in making sure Paige isn't implicated in the illegal car parts ring. When Mark confides in Paige about how used and hurt he feels after all Tyler's lies, Paige is also overcome by guilt for all the lies she has told him herself. She keeps quiet despite her conscience but any support she can offer is not enough to assuage Mark's feelings of betrayal.
After everything he's done for Tyler, Mark simply expected a little respect and honesty in return. So when Aaron bails Tyler out of jail, Mark is seething with rage - not only because Tyler isn't facing the consequences of his actions but also because his brothers seem united against him. Arriving home to find Tyler and Aaron seemingly sharing a stronger bond than ever, Mark's temper flares. Feeling left out and furious, Mark is about to do something that could damage his relationship with both brothers forever.

Well, Aaron’s pretty hot… and he and Nate are a match made in heaven, aren’t they? But at least they’ve dealt with the fact that they don’t have to be paired up just because they’re both single and gay and living two houses away from each other (though they’re clearly going to do it anyway). It’s also an interesting approach to build an antagonism between them – very different from Chris and Nate who had an ‘instant connection’ and liked each other immediately – but it works in an ‘opposites attract’ kind of way.
Yeah, I wasn’t sure about that beforehand, but it’s probably for the best that they already knew. After all, the show’s already doing a coming-out story, so I highly doubted that they’d have Aaron coming out to his brothers as well. Actually, I wonder if we’re going to meet this stalker-ish ex of his… Speaking of which, as much as coming-out storylines are over done these days, I quite like the different approach that this show is taking; particularly Nate drawing on his experiences from the army (I just wish we had heard more about it). I have to admit, I was half expecting Alistair to be Aaron’s ex (and that they broke up because Alistair is a massive closet-case) or something, just to spice things up even more – but I like that this storyline seems to be involving multiple characters, even if the plot itself isn’t that great.
Tyler’s middle name is ‘Gertie’? What’s with this show giving the guys middle names that others take the mickey out of? Kyle ‘Eugene’ Canning and Christos ‘Theodore’ Pappas, what’s next? Also, the show took a bit of a gamble by confirming that there are only three Brennan brothers and one sister; obviously they can introduce cousins if necessary, but they’ve kind of restricted themselves now in terms of the family.

Those are some pretty interesting spoilers. I'm glad it looks like Neighbours is doing right by its gays. Mind you, I'll have to see how much airtime they actually get, but all in all it does look promising. I don't mind the coming-out storyline for Alistair since he's not the focus of the story, and I'm curious to see how they will put Nate and Aaron together eventually ... or will they? It would be refreshing if they didn't, but I don't fancy Alistair as Nate's love interest and a stalker is no better for Aaron.
Maybe they needed to restrict the number of Brennan men because 3 is almost enough to make my TV overheat from their hotness (terribly cheesy joke, I know).

Thanks for the link, kevvoi. I recently found a character profile for Aaron on Neighbours' website, which was quite interesting and links nicely to the interview: Aaron has a big heart and a cheeky streak. Family is important to him, and he’d do anything for his brothers and sister. He has always had a soft spot for baby brother Tyler, and the two are similar in terms of spirit and mind. However he also loves and admires his more straight-laced elder brother Mark. Both brothers accept Aaron is gay, however their father Russell is still struggling with this revelation. However, his father’s disappointment has never stopped Aaron being true to himself and finding a long-term partner is a priority.
Strangely, despite only appearing a few times, most of that is really evident already (though they probably should have mentioned that he’s slightly conceited as well, which still makes him likeable). Based on what Matt said in his interview, Russell will supposedly arrive at some point (and apparently the show is going to explore the idea that Russell used to abuse Tyler) and it would probably be once Aaron and Nate’s relationship has become serious just to stir up trouble. Plus - as kevvoi suggested - Russell will probably be a really dashing middle-aged man if the Brennan brothers are anything to go by, which will be cool too. There's also been a couple of articles released about Nate and Aaron's storyline over the next three weeks, so I thought it would make sense to upload one now then upload the other one next week along with a new batch of spoilers: With Susan (Jackie Woodburne) drawn into the controversy thanks to Alistair's (Nick Cain) complaint to the Celebrants' Association claiming that Susan refused to marry him and his fiancée, Nate (Meyne Wyatt) determines not to let his aunt's good name to be besmirched. Fortunately for Nate, his new friend Aaron Brennan (Matt Wilson) steps in to unravel the confusion over Alistair's exact sexual orientation in the hopes of clearing Susan's name. However, Nate has already failed to talk sense into Alistair, who maintains that Susan wouldn't marry him and his girlfriend because of Nate's suspicions that he's gay and feels Aaron shouldn't waste time talking to Alistair either.
Aaron's claim that his charm will work magic on Alistair leaves Nate infuriated until he spies Aaron entertaining a comfortable Alistair at the Brennan house. Quick to conclude that Aaron has persuaded Alistair to drop the complaint against Susan, Nate chastises Aaron for interfering especially when his actions solve one problem but have unforeseen consequences for Alistair. Refusing to be blamed for helping him, Aaron accuses Nate of being ungrateful. The tension between Nate and Alistair remains palpable when Sheila (Colette Mann) tasks Nate with finalising Aaron's official appointment as a male stripper at The Waterhole. Unfortunately, a judgemental Nate only succeeds in Aaron taking his business to Off-Air, The Waterhole's main competitor. Afraid of Sheila's wrath, Nate implores Aaron to return to the bar and he agrees, privately plotting to have some fun when Sheila orders them to work together harmonisosly. During Aaron's first performance as an official employee, he delights in teasing Nate with his provocative dance moves. Nate's attraction to Aaron is sparked and when he admits he likes him, Aaron moves to kiss him but suddenly pulls back. Although it emerges that both guys were joking with each other, their budding attraction to each other lingers heavily in the air.
The attraction is soon tested though when Naomi (Morgana O'Reilly) hires Aaron for her inventive new campaign to promote the re-branding of Lassiters. Aaron and an actress are to be locked inside a glass box outside the hotel to advertise the complex as the perfect romantic spot for couples. As the promotion launches with Nate watching on and enjoying teasing Aaron, the actress fails to appear and Naomi panics. She can't just have a guy acting alone. Taking the initiative, Naomi quickly locks Nate inside the box with Aaron. With no hope of escape, Nate makes the most of the claustrophobic conditions by having some fun. As positive social media reaction erupts over Lassiters' progressive attitude to same-sex relationships, Naomi is celebrating but she needs a sexy photo finish for the stunt to succeed. So Nate does as asked and plants an intense kiss on Aaron's lips! I also found the front cover of the magazine that the article appears in (Soap World August 2015) on Facebook, which has a small but intriguing picture of Nate and Aaron on the front. I assume it's a publicity shot rather than a still from any of the episodes because - as you'll see - it's rather raunchy: www.facebook.com/soapworldmag/photos/a.333384546755217.79048.328445030582502/874367145990285/?type=1&theaterOn a slightly separate note; this only occurred to me after watching Anthony's most recent clip, but where’s the show going in regards to the ‘Cranky Granny’ video? Alistair seemed desperate for it to be removed (presumably because he was a massive jerk towards Nate and didn’t want his fiancé to see it), but why did he go to Nate about it, considering that it was apparently Alistair’s friend who filmed and uploaded it in the first place? Unless that’s going to be Nate’s way of escaping Alistair’s threats, which is illogical because it’s not his responsibility; it’s Alistair’s.

Here are the Nate and Aaron related spoilers for upcoming episodes (highlight below to read): Tuesday 30th June 2015- 7157: Susan and Karl give Tyler a second chance.
Wednesday 1st July 2015- 7158: Nate and Aaron have a huge disagreement regarding Alistair and Coco's relationship.
Friday 3rd July 2015- 7160: Nate and Aaron are forced to work together.
Monday 6th July 2015 – 7161: Nate responds to Aaron’s provocative teasing by admitting he’s attracted to Aaron. When Nate claims he was joking, Aaron goes to kiss Nate but says that it is a joke, too. Are they really attracted to each other? Meanwhile, Karl and Sheila wage a battle of the bars complete with some very familiar exotic dancers.
Wednesday 15th July 2015- 7167: Nate and Aaron’s feelings for each other are challenged when they find themselves locked in a situation with no way of escape.
Friday 17th July 2015- 7170: Aaron and Josh bond over mutual unemployment.
Here's another article (similar to the previous one) which covers the next three weeks: When Sheila (Colette Mann) heads off to a dental appointment and leaves Nate in charge of The Waterhole, she gives him one very important job. She wants Aaron to sign an employment contract that excludes him from performing at other bars' popular bingo nights. Nate reluctantly agrees to help but when he can't help himself from taking repeated pot-shots at Aaron's "career" as a dancer, Aaron refuses to sign.
This infuriates Sheila, and Nate is given strict instructions to fix things, forcing him to now beg Aaron for a signature. Aaron milks Nate's discomfort for all it's worth before finally agreeing to sign the contract - but only if he deals exclusively with Sheila. This is welcome news for Nate who would be happy to never have to deal with Aaron again but with Sheila suffering from lock-jaw, she orders the two to work together - much to their mutual dismay.
While running The Waterhole the boys are unable to resist the temptation to taunt each other at every opportunity and Aaron teases Nate by dancing provocatively. At the end of the night, Nate admits to a chuffed Aaron that he is actually quite attractive but Aaron's bubble is quickly burst when he realises Nate is only joking. Eager to turn the tables, Aaron goes in for a near-kiss and then pulls away abruptly, leaving Nate looking foolish and embarrassed. The one-upmanship continues all night long but it's beginning to look like there might be a mutual attraction behind Nate and Aaron's guarded exteriors and that attraction isn't going to be kept under control for much longer.
When a series of unfortunate events leads to Naomi (Morgana O'Reilly) desperately looking for actors to feature in a "hotel box" promotion at Lassiters, Aaron and Nate find themselves locked together in a confined space and forced to play a "happy couple". Trapped in such close quarters, Nate tries to make the best of a bad situation and have some fun, infuriating Aaron in the process. Despite the tension, the promotion is a big success but Naomi needs a sexy photo finish for her media stunt. In an effort to make amends for his annoying behaviour in the box, Nate tries a bit of Hollywood acting and plants a steamy kiss on Aaron. Both Nate and Aaron are clearly shaken by the intensity of the kiss - could this be the start of a new romance?
Spoilers courtesy of Southern Cross Media and TV Soap .
So basically, Nate and Aaron are going to tease each other relentlessly for the next three weeks. This could be interesting but the show needs to make sure that it doesn’t turn into the guys insulting each other, otherwise the idea of them getting together will lose any credibility it had. Also, the show needs to be careful not to drag out Nate and Aaron getting together: prolonging it is fine within reason, but dragging it out would be boring and unnecessary because technically there would be nothing stopping them from being together except their own pride. And watching two guys fight an attraction to each other for weeks because of their massive egos isn’t interesting television. However, the spoilers look promising, entertaining and (most importantly) pretty hot! Looking forward to seeing how it unfolds on screen: if the writing, directing and acting come together then it should work regardless of chemistry.

Here are the Nate and Aaron related spoilers for upcoming episodes (highlight below to read): Monday 6th July 2015 – 7161: Sheila and Karl go head-to-head in a battle of the bars. Aaron is chuffed that Nate may be interested in him, only to find out it was all a joke.
Tuesday 14th July 2015- 7167: Nate and Aaron are forced to play the happy couple.
Wednesday 15th July 2015- 7168: Nate and Aaron’s feelings for each other are challenged when they find themselves locked in a situation with no way of escape.
Friday 17th July 2015- 7170: Josh and Aaron bond over unemployment. Thursday 23rd July 2015- 7174: Karl and Susan are surprised by an unexpected visitor, whilst Joshua kicks off a new career as a dancer. (This isn’t entirely Nate/Aaron related but may involve both.)
Spoilers courtesy of Southern Cross Media and The Perfect Blend
So is that it for Alistair? If so, it’s a shame because he was an interesting character with potential played by a decent actor, and his story did seem unresolved, but I guess it was never really about Alistair in the first place. Are we actually supposed to believe Aaron’s story about Alistair? It just rang really untrue and forced, but clearly the whole thing was really just for dramatic purposes.
It’s clear what the show is doing with Nate and Aaron now, and it’s interesting because some of the show’s most famous couples started off as enemies who didn't get along initially and teased each other (Scott and Charlene, and Bridget and Declan are the most notable ones). And it’s funny that people are excited about the upcoming story for them (more than they were about Chris and Nate anyway), so obviously it’s paying off already.
