Danke Nanna!!! Danke Paul!!! Danke Joanna!!!
Wow, is this a good episode.
That last scene (I'll say it again) is amazing.
And that first scene:
Look at Christian's face when Olli goes to get the phone call. Thore's acting is just fantastic.

They can't get legally married in all provinces or territories though. Yes, they can. In every province and/or territory, same-sex marriage is legal. Those provinces and territories that lagged behind in passing the law, in summer of 2005, was overruled by The House of Commons passing the Civil Marriage Act , which started off as Bill C-38. The definition for 'marriage' set forth by the bill, which got passed: "Marriage, for civil purposes, is the lawful union of two persons to the exclusion of all others" Income tax forms, no 'husband', no 'wife'....but 'spouse'. Religious groups (like churches), and other officials or commissoners of marriage, can, of course, refuse to perform a marriage ceremony if it goes against their personal/religious beliefs (that's their right to exercise religious freedom)....but that has nothing to do with recognizing same-sex marriage as the same as opposite sex-marriage [i.e., distinction of same-sex/opposite-sex, is now redundant, as it's all just "marriage"], and thus, with equal legislative rights (legit and legal) nation-wide. Summary of the Civil Marriage Act - Bill C-38: www2.parl.gc.ca/Sites/LOP/LegislativeSummaries/Bills_ls.asp?Parl=38&Ses=1&ls=c38So, come on over Chrolli. We're happy to have a big fat gay (as in, merry) wedding for you guys here. ;D

Luckycharm: Really? I live in Alberta and I work with a guy who is gay and was married in Alberta but the province still does not recognize them as married, civil partnership yes but married in the same way that a straight couple is? No!
And many of my friends have gone to other countries to get married (mostly the Netherlands and Britian) as they have told me that they wouldn't be legally married here in the way they want to be.
I'm just going with what I've been told as I don't actually follow any of the bills etc.
See I'd be happy for Chrolli to come and get married here though, as long as it is all equal ;D
(And I'm not a marriage kind of person and there is a 99% chance I will never get married because honestly I'm not the type I just think that it should all be equal if you want to.)

Ah, Alberta, our conservative little soldier. I figured you were talking of this province. It's most likely that those anecdotal stories of your friends and acquaintances were met with resistence from commissoners authorized to solemnize a marriage (which is under provincial jurisdiction - and in Alberta, it is quite lax, while, in other provinces, you'd most likely face dismissal if you refuse to solemnize a same-sex marriage), but, the capacity to marry is under federal jurisdiction. Thus, Alberta is not exempt. It's still legal to marry in Alberta, as a same-sex couple, although it may be harder, than in other provinces, to find someone to do it. It's weird though that it wasn't recognized?? I'd ask in what capacity, but, we're going way-off topic, so I'll refrain. You can tell your friends to get married in another province, where it's easier to get the deed done, as it'll have to be recognized as a legit marriage in Canada, regardless, once they are back in Alberta. They don't need to go to another country, just another province. ;D I'm ambivalent towards marriage. It's not as much about "marriage" as whoever I meet, and whatever course unfolds. K, enough derail of Canadian (political) flair. I liked how Olli suggested the Canadian wilderness though, it plays on Thore's love for the outdoors/hunter (did you check out the moosehead? Oie!) AND Jo's wish to travel across Canada (I love how they add the actor's RL in little ways).....AND Chrolli's infamous cabin trip that made Olli see Christian in a new light. And, started it all. It would be quite symbolic for Chrolli, such a trip.

First off, thanks to Nanna & tihkon for the subs. Re: Olli to Rebecca: "Rob doesn't stand a chance with me but Christian won't believe that even if he doesn't admit it. Do you have an idea what I could do about it?"Dear Olli, Since Rebecca had nothing for you, I would recommend the following: 1. Try to never say Rob's name in Christian's presence. 2. In meetings with Rob, sit at a table, on opposite sides, and no footsies. Also, there's email. 3. Shake hands. No kisses, no hugs, no touching. 4. Never let him in your home. 5. If you go out with Rob to research and find yourself too drunk to fend off his advances, call your boyfriend to come and pick you up. 6. If you tell your boyfriend you'll be back early and your plans change, call. Period. 7. When Rob makes untoward advances, either physical or verbal, tell him it's inappropriate and unwelcome. Be firm and for god's sake, don't say anything encouraging. 8. When he does it again, either give him a second courtesy warning or bitch slap him. 9. When he does it again, if you've given the second warning instead of the bitch slap, now's the time to use an open hand to put a little rosy in his glow. 10. When he does it again (cause he's a persistent bastard, ain't he), tell him: Last warning, if you do that again, I'll tell my gorgeous beast of a boyfriend and when he comes to rip off your head and hollow it out like an overripe pumpkin, I won't say a word or lift a finger to stop him." For starters. Warm Regards, JustaMannsMan p.s. you will no doubt receive suggestions from thunderkat that will be in sharp contradistinction to the above. Use extreme caution; she has ulterior motives and a very persuasive way about her.

Luckycharm: What do you mean by this province? You don't specify which province you were thinking of and I just wondered And my friends have already gone to other countries to get married because of Alberta being a conservative hell hole to live in (can you tell I hate living here? The only good part about it is the mountains and even they lose their appeal after awhile ), I do have friends in Ontario and Quebec who got married no problem though. Also I really hate politics so yeah I don't follow them and for me whenever I start a relationship I say to my sf I will most likely never marry you as I don't believe in it for me. I really wish Chrolli would come to Canada and go hiking in the mountains or something. There is a really awesome lover's cabin place about 2 hours northwest of Calgary that would be a lovely place for them to go and there are hot springs

Use extreme caution; she has ulterior motives and a very persuasive way about her. LOL, that was awesome! ;D I have an inkling that thunderkat would just circumvent a Top 10 List, with a "one size fits all" suggestion. Literally. As in, Olli should warm Christian to the idea of a threesome with Rob. Love thy enemy, and all. Voila! Well, that's my suggestion anyway. On a serious note: Christian AND Olli are one-partner kind of people...so, yeah, listen to the Mann's Man. Luckycharm: What do you mean by this province? You don't specify which province you were thinking of and I just wondered I was responding to your quote where you mentioned Alberta, so by "this" province, I meant a confirmation of your post - i.e., Alberta. As in, I figured you were speaking about Alberta, which you were. I live in Toronto, and it has got it's own "shit-hole" moments. Familiarity sometimes breeds contempt. Or, boredom. Meh. I heard Alberta is beautiful though. A lot of natural scenic beauty.

I miss Toronto, I used to live just outside there I have been in contempt of Alberta since I started going to school here and students and teachers alike said to me "You're a stupid British Bitch and you're not welcome here." so yeah I hate it here. I never had that when I lived in Ontario. JustAMann'sMan: I love your 10 point system it's brilliant

Alberta can be pretty but mostly it is yellow grass and flat and boring, pretty mountains but 90% of the time you can't see them because of the snow clouds or Chinooks which give me really bad migraines.

Danke Nanna Thanks Tihkon2 and Thanks Joanna Another good episode (thank God, it seems I write these 3 words very often lately : ; Thore and Joe's acting, once again, was great (I think Thore has grown a lot as an actor ) I really enjoy every time Rob is in a scene. The guy that plays him is a good actor, and A HOT MAN. It's a guilty pleasure watching him lusting over Olli with no shame at all ;D (seriously: only a shameless motherf*cker could invite a taken guy to a spa... ). I'd totally understand if Christian had an irrepressible desire to strangle him...

Of course the real award goes to our guys......we've waited so long for them to get a really good storyline and while some of us may not especially like all the people connected to said storyline, we can't deny it is bringing out the best in Jo and Thore.

Oh joanna! I couldn't help myself, I went on another right click saving frenzy ;D Thank you so much for all your pics!
Nanna, Tihkon, and Sonnenschein thank you too!
thunderkat, I'd loved to have seen even more guilty awkwardness on Christian's part too *nods* Aww Olli was so adorable making up the room into a "little Canada" but I wanted to smack the darn cell phone out of his hands the second it rang and he PICKED IT UP!
It makes me really happy to see Thore and Jo finally have storylines to tackle as they are SO good at what they do *happy sigh* So long as Chrolli remains endgame, I say bring on the angst because it makes the making up and re-connecting all the sweeter! Look at all the comments these episodes are bringing out of us. Show's gotta be doing some things right.
Hmm, I wonder if Olli does continue resisting Rob's deliciously brazen attempts to get in take off his pants, what Rob's reaction is gonna be? We think Rob is deviously evil now... I suspect he could be so much worse if he really wanted to ;D
Now I'd love to see a scene of David yelling at Olli/Christian/R1. As sadly cute as he looks heartbroken, I desperately want someone to yell at them for the pain they are causing themselves and others and Andi seems way too twitterpated to notice right about now. If at some point R1 does decide she cares for him, I'd much rather he'd have been willing to call her on her bs/actions rather than just blindly being happy she'd waffled her way back picked him.

I hear you. I think here in Germany if two guys/two girls get a "registered partnership" most people say that they get married and nobody would call it a civil union or something. It just has a different official name and I think most (straight) people don't even know that there's a difference. But it's not the same and I really hope that that changes in the future, but unfortunately the only party that's against full gay marriage is in power right now. As far as I know, one of the most important goals for German gay rights groups are complete adoption rights for gay couples, as there is only stepchild-adoption right now. That's really a shame. As for Christian and Olli (yay, back on topic! ;D) I really hope they DON'T go to Canada to get married. I wanna see it on screen! And as there only was a lesbian wedding so far on VL, I really hope they want to do a gay one now. I don't think there will a possibility for another one so soon. And for their honeymoon they can got to lovely Canada
