As for her cousin: It would be extremely strange for an American family, unless they were estranged or unfamiliar with each other, to not feel some sort of familial bond---especially for a baby. Well, here in my neck of the woods, at least. Who knows how they do things up North! heh ;D Massive New Jersey Catholic extended family here. We can effortlessly pack a church with cousins out to the third or fourth degree for a baptism. In addition, unlike the Southern folk, we actually know how to throw real weddings! ;D So yes, Olivia not being familiar with Lars's daughter is rather odd in my eyes, especially given how close they all live. But I'm sure that a paid nanny hired without references from a third world country is a more trustworthy babysitter than Olivia, so it's not as if she's probably allowed within spitting distance of the child. hah! Psionycx, you really must learn not to keep your feelings bottle-up---tell us how you really feel about Olivia! ;D Geoff

I don't add much to the discussion (sorry but real life s***s!) but I'd like to thanks once again Nanna and all the other wonderful people that provide us with clips, videos, subtitles, screencaps and so on. You rock!

hah! Psionycx, you really must learn not to keep your feelings bottle-up---tell us how you really feel about Olivia! ;D Geoff What can I say? Her whole demeanor bugs me. Her facial expressions suggest an almost constant sense of scorn towards the people around her, including Olli. It only changes when she's feeling cocky about something, or when she's scared because one of her plans is imploding. I'm still waiting to see her do something redeeming.

The Gregor-centric part of yesterday's episode:
Many thanks to Tihkon!

I kinda love how Christian totally doesn't give a shit what the Fabian/Judith secret is. You can just see that he just assumes that it's something stupid. ;D

Nanna, I just watched your clips of yesterday’s episode. As you know, I always watch your clips even though I follow VL on ARD… your subs tell me whether or not everyone really said what I heard them say. By the way, I never knew that “Chinesisch” means “Dutch” in German! ;D A massive thanks and respect to you and the others who are so dedicated to bringing this lovely story to people all over the world! You are all awesome!

I'm just a little disappointed that we never got to see Charlie's reaction, or Miriam's. Same here. I know you can't see everyone's reaction to everything, but given that they both played decent roles in the build-up, some slight indication of what they thought about the whole thing might have been nice. Oh well. Re: Olivia, her not turning in the money I can understand in some ways. The baby was safe by then, right? Or at the very least, her turning in the money wouldn't have led them to the baby any faster? Sure, it'd bring Adrian to justice, but that's hardly a priority for Olivia. I'd like to think if she was facing a burning building with the baby and a bag of money still inside, she'd save the baby first. (And then run back in for the money and die a fiery death, but that's beside the point). That said, blackmailing Olli again is kinda despicable. Hard to read the look on her face at the end there - it's either "Shit, that was a bad move and I feel kinda crappy" or "Shit, what if it doesn't work and he calls my bluff?", and I honestly don't know which. Danuta - don't worry, I've decided to keep Hobbes. Christian may be hotter, but Hobbes is a far more accurate avatar for me given how I am in real life. Plus, it's Hobbes! Incidentally, am I going blind or did I just completely miss that "tiger" moment in the subtitled clips? (For which, thanks a million guys! That seemed like most of the episode right there!) Two brilliant moments: Gregor's "She's so stupid!" (like, finally! You're just realising this?) and best of all Christian's "Well, women...yeah, I'm just going upstairs to have hot sex with my stable, non-neurotic boyfriend. Enjoy your crazy jail bait!" Bonus points for use of a Scissor Sisters song in the background of an explanatory "Why it's better to be gay" scene.

By the way, I never knew that “Chinesisch” means “Dutch” in German! ;D Well, in Italian it means "Arabic"! ;D Danuta - don't worry, I've decided to keep Hobbes. Christian may be hotter, but Hobbes is a far more accurate avatar for me given how I am in real life. Plus, it's Hobbes! Incidentally, am I going blind or did I just completely miss that "tiger" moment in the subtitled clips? (For which, thanks a million guys! That seemed like most of the episode right there!) Actually, it's a long story. I gave Italian pet names to the three of them (Olli, Chris and Gregor), and Chris's was "tigrotto" (little tiger); but a few episodes ago Rebecca called Gregor "tiger", so I got upset because she'd stolen the nickname I gave Chris to call Gregor. I just wanted to point out that Chris is the only one "tiger" there! ;D Quite a silly debate, I know.

Besides, the fun lay mostly in the dialog leading up to it: O: Yes, it's true. C: That's probably what you told every guy. O: With you it's just...bomastic. C: (looking dubious) You know, I'm capable of making fun of myself*. O: (laughing) But not as good! (Maybe when you go with sense the appropriate translation would be more like: C: You don't have to tease me. O: But it's so much fun) What exactly is "bombastic" with Christian from Olli's point of view? The sex?

I don't think this has been mentioned already, but did anyone else love Olli's little giggle after he tells Christian he's bombastic and the camera's gone back to Christian? Awwww. I gather they've just been chatting about their relationship, and Christian's feeling that he's just another one of Olli's boyfriends, but au contraire ... he's much more than that. So what's your interpretation of the word bombastic? My dictionary and thesaurus come up with terms that don't really fit their conversation.

I'm not sure either how "bombastic", at least as I understand the word, is applicable to Christian...

I'm pretty sure that:
1.) They meant it like the German word bombig/bombastisch which is generally a variation of awesome/great/huge (though I think even here sometimes with a sarcastic tinge) 2.) I think it's obvious that they are talking about sex 3.) I also think it's pretty clear that it's mostly gentle mocking. Olli is laughing/cracking up the entire time he is talking about it and it's fairly obvious that Christian is unsure/doesn't think that Olli is serious which Olli then confirms by saying that it's fun/good to make fun of Christian.

As Christian should put up on his door, if the bed's a-rockin', don't come a-knockin'. Though apparently it's not bombastic enough if Gregor just walked in without realizing anything might be going on. But maybe the No Limits Acoustical Principle applies upstairs as well?

I believe Gregor walked on them during the take off

Well, I didn't get the impression that Olli had anything to complain about, even if clearly loving mocking was involved.

Well, one usually mock the other way and not: I was just kidding, in reality you suck in bed ;D So I think it was all true

I think lola's right, now that (I think) I understand the colloquial use of "bombastic" in that scene. I don't think Olli was mocking his Chrissie's prowess in bed. Olli was just having fun with his Mann. At the most, Olli was arguably being sarcastic, but then that doesn't make the scene work (not in my view, anyway).

The door has a frosted glass pane in it. I doubt that it's hard to miss when those two are getting "bombastic".

The door has a frosted glass pane in it. I doubt that it's hard to miss when those two are getting "bombastic". Ollian together simply have an inexplicable effect on the faculties of others near or around them as best exemplified by how everyone in nolimits becomes deaf whenever there's an Olli and Christian convo. Maybe, here, both Gregor's aural and visual abilities failed him frosted glass pane or none. Or maybe he wanted to join in. ;D
