I just watched it in the German, and, sigh. So great!! I can't wait until the subbed version is available, so I can actually understand what they are saying. I did get "Ich liebe dich" though. OMG - I so understood that bit too ;D Don't know whether my excitement was because he'd said it or because I actually understood he'd said it, without subs So agree with Nanna - it is right in Christian's character that he couldn't say it back but his face spoke a thousand words. Loved today's epi - man, the way they interact together, it's just visual poetry . All of us will be superior German speakers by the end of the year! Some of the conversation in NoLimits I can get; but of course, the details get lost in the speed. I can see Christian is upset and so on. I'm getting a little irritated with Oli always trying to keep the SECRET! bah. ;D Geoff

You liked it Sheepie? I can't quite tell. Well, you know how restrained these Scots are.

Thanks Ivan for the clip/caps, Lola and Steffi for the summary and Nanna for the subtitles that she's gonna make. This episode was great! They're so in love! But there's always someone round the corner trying to spoil it all... So funny the "sirtaki" thing that Christian talked about at NoLimits! But I don't think it's the most romantic/sexiest dance he could take as an example to let Olli know how much he cares about him...

He was probably thinking of "Zorba the Greek".

He was probably thinking of "Zorba the Greek". Yes, that's the movie that made the "sirtaki" famous around the world. I like it, but in such situation I'd have said "tango".

Sirtaki, my guess he picked it as something that is upbeat and crazy, not something that is supposed to be romantic.

I always thought that dance in the movie was the most perfect expression of pure joy of life.

And I think in Germany it also has a bit of a reputation of being cheesy. Because at least for me it's the song they always play when you are on vacation in Greece.

Actually, I spent a week holiday in Greece 3 years ago, but I didn't have the chance to listen to it, neither on the radio, nor in public places. Such a pity!

Tell me guys, what am I supposed to say? Just look at him!!! NO COMMENT I was waiting for you to comment on those caps, Aldebaran, and you haven't disappointed. I especially liked the second one you used here. Oh my, what a look. Christian's response to Olli's "I love you" reminded me so much of just reserved nordic types (like me). Say it without saying it, because those little words are really very difficult to say, you know. But I did like his expression after he didn't actually say "I love you." I agree, he'll say it in time. He was probably thinking of "Zorba the Greek". Yes, that's the movie that made the "sirtaki" famous around the world. I like it, but in such situation I'd have said "tango". My understanding is that it was actually created for the movie, with some reference to actual Greek folk dances. I think Nanna is correct, but so is Lola. It's supposed to be an expression of great joy, but a bit of a cheesy idea, too.

Well, in the Italian version he always said "Idem", but I don't know if in English such Latin locution is used. No, sirtaki is a traditional greek dance, I watched "Zorba the Greek" many years ago but I don't think the dance was changed just for the movie.

I enjoyed the clip today but it totally feels like a TBC type thing, much like when Olivia found them in bed and Christian was going to announce to the gym he was gay. I will probably have more complete thoughts tomorrow on it but I will say that the hug was very, very loving. And Olli & Christian ain't fooling nobody at the gym. Niemand. Christian's response to Olli's "I love you" reminded me so much of just reserved nordic types (like me). Should I be embarrassed I know that? Off to watch KILLER VIRUS now, and no I am not talking about about hack job the writers have done to Noah & Luke.

I always thought that dance in the movie was the most perfect expression of pure joy of life. Yes, I think that's exactly it: for the first time in his adult life, does Christian feel it's within his grasp actually to experience that? the weight of the world lifted off his shoulders . . . (Am I waxing a little too purple here?) Moreover the partners dance as equals rather than leader / follower, male / female--and it's rustic not polished--all of which I think would appeal to him. I hope it's given this conspicuous mention because the writers intend to follow up on it. (That wouldn't necessarily be 'cheesy', would it?) Of course, there's always the dance C&O demonstrated at the beginning of the Giga interview--they said they'd been rehearsing it . . .

No, sirtaki is a traditional greek dance, I watched "Zorba the Greek" many years ago but I don't think the dance was changed just for the movie. Well, Wikipedia agrees with me, and we all know that Wikipedia is never wrong. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sirtaki But then, maybe you're right. Not sure. Either way, I still think it's supposed to be the idea of a slightly cheesy way to express joy, here.

And, as our beloved Olli said, "Being right isn't everything". ;D Then I'm a bit disappointed, I've always thought it was a real traditional dance... Thanks for clearing things up.

Oh, that's alright, Aldebaran. And you and Olli are correct, being right isn't everything. Cool? It's still a fun dance.

I reminded me of Noah's reaction on Luke's 'I love you'. His responds was 'Same here'. I actually thought of that too, but in this case, Christian's declaration was about a gazillion times more heartfelt than Noah's lame "Same here." I can't wait to see the subbed clips. This is another top notch episode. Thore and Jo are just amazing. I feel so much better after watching them because I actually watched Nuke today, and... enough said. Olli and Christian rock. They are love personified, in my view. I'm so happy right now. ;D
