when is the new season going to start I would expect them to do Pride Month (June) again, but it's uncertain because they started filming 3 months later than they did last year - in fact they finished season 1 production around this time and it took 6 months of post-production before it made it to air. Assuming similar filming and post-prod durations, the season 2 premiere may be pushed back as late as October 2021. I don't think they need that much time on post-production. After being a hit is easy to forget that the show changed from Disney + to Hulu, and the fact that Disney didn't want to air or promote it. After being a success things will go smooth (or at least it should go smoother this time). It's a small show, they don't have that many characters, it should be filmed quite fast. It would be a good idea to hire an openly gay actor or the promotion could get some uncomfortable questions (if i were in their position i would cast a gay actor and give him an straight role)

So this will be included in a Disney+ subscription for people outside USA?

I'm surprised they didn't continue with Love Victor. As long as they integrate the pandemic into the storyline, it shouldn't be too hard to produced while following corvid health regulations. The cast is fairly small, and they can limit the locations as long as the show takes place in corvid times.

The cast is fairly small, and they can limit the locations as long as the show takes place in corvid times. It's not just about the actors - it's a whole ecosystem. Most of the risk is actually from the crew (directors, cameramen, production managers and assistants, technicians, caterers, makeup artists, wardrobe, etc.), which is much larger than the cast. Integrating the pandemic into the storyline won't really help either, unless we suddenly depict Victor, his parents and siblings wearing masks and standing apart at home, and Victor elbow-bumping instead of kissing his boyfriend Benji, because none of those actors are actually part of the same household outside the production set. It would be not only highly depressing to have Covid take over the show to that extent, but also incredibly unrealistic to depict households like that.

I think we'll watch shows integrating successfully the pandemic once the pandemic is over or controlled, not before.
The show has limited time and dealing with a pandemic will be too time consuming and at this time i think people tolerate pandemic storylines in procedurals, specially medical ones (the pandemic is totally integrated in the storylines of Grey's anatomy or Station 19) but the rest of the shows are more for distract from the awful reality

So I just read that Desperate Housewives is going to be listed on Disney+ soon. And this neutered teen show was too adult for the platform that it had to be shuttled sideways to Hulu. Yeah, pull the other one, Disney. It's pretty cut and dry that the only reason Love, Victor wasn't allowed on Disney+ is because it's a gay male-led show.

I think that is obvious to everyone. Just makes you wonder what made Disney changed their mind. After all, Love Victor was always a gay lead show, that was never hidden.

What I meant is that when they greenlit the show and when they filmed the show, it was always known to be a gay-centric show. And during that entire time until just before release, they were okay with putting it on Disney+. So the question is why was Love Victor moved to Hulu (This is before the Star channel was created). I think we all debated it in this thread in the past, but there was never a conclusion since we don't know Disney's thinking

does any one if the Disney+'s Star channel be part of the USA package. I also think Love Victor would of been on Disney+ if the kissing between 2 boys part was cut

They wanted to be be progressive, but they chicken out.
The worst part is moving this to Hulu was probably the best thing it could happen to the show because it was pretty clear Disney didn't have any intention to promote it.
We know what happened with Andy Mack, they dragged the gay storyline forever and in the end they were not even allowed to a small kiss (i think the writers did the best they were allowed because the bench scene was sweet but that doesn't change anything).
I hope they give the show space to grow, it was a hit and this is not Euphoria (probably the candid part of the show was part of its success) but the characters need to grow and the same with the storyline if they want to keep the success

I read speculation that it was the New York episode, where Victor went to a gay club and interacted with drag queens, that derailed the original plan for Disney+ to be the show's home. It's pretty obvious the show already made an effort to scale back some of the more contentious elements in the pilot (e.g. language that might be considered vulgar, the guys showing more skin in the locker room) and Disney may have approved it on the basis of those changes being made to the pilot, and then they realized there was no way they could edit out (what they considered to be) child-inappropriate elements in the New York episode without affecting the storyline. God forbid kids accidentally tune into a wholesome family-friendly kids' show and are "assaulted" by drag queens and some of the most tepid gay clubbing scenes ever!
Of course, the really galling thing is that their ultimate solution to move the show to Hulu was a lose-lose since the first season was already filmed in a censorious way; kids watching Disney+ lost out on seeing how normal and non-controversial gay high school boys are, while the older audiences watching Hulu got a neutered version of a teen drama. Now the showrunners know exactly the kind of platform they're creating content for, but I'm not sure they will want to rock the boat too much. I guess we'll see this summer when season 2 premieres, how exactly they take advantage of the Hulu platform. I highly doubt it is going to be the new Skins, Skam, or even the Gossip Girl reboot where the actors have to wear modesty pouches for the sex scenes.

Just wish they decided that before S1 was filmed so they could have modified the script to be more "adult"

Love, Victor star Michael Cimino received homophobic messages from people he knows after taking role.
As 'Love, Victor' stars Michael Cimino and George Sear discuss the hit LGBTQ teen series ahead of the show's UK premiere on Disney+ on 23 February 2021, Micheal reveals he received homophobia messages from people he knows after taking on the role of high school student Victor Salazar.

It is sad that the POC actor received homophobic messages while the white actor didn't. Of course, it might be because Michael is the main character while George is the supporting character.
