I watched the first episode and I was pleasantly surprised It was really good the only thing when Aki was on screen with Max I kept thinking about the Interview Evan Mock did and It killed the chemistry for me but the rest of the show was great

I am not happy with the change with Gossip Girl they did. I just hope that someone steals the account (as per the usual on GG) by the end of season by someone. Then they can keep it a mystery.

I am not happy with the change with Gossip Girl they did. I just hope that someone steals the account (as per the usual on GG) by the end of season by someone. Then they can keep it a mystery. I think they wanted to turn the whole formula of "Who's Gossip Girl?" on its head. In an interview, Joshua Safran said it was the twist that sold him on the reboot. For me, the series' main failing is the lack of conflict between the characters. Everyone is, simply put, too nice. They've shifted too far from the original draw of the show, which was rich people behaving badly. It was fine to have one or two "guilty rich" characters but here everyone seems way too socially conscious. And there's a major misstep with Max's storyline. No, not the stuff with Aki - that's the most compelling story for me, personally - but the teacher stalking. Here's a clip from episode 2. And now I have an even better idea of why Evan Mock went on the defensive about his sexuality. (Warning: there is nudity.) http://instagram.com/p/CRcpjKohvSW Preview of episode 3:

There’s Aki Menzies (Evan Mock), the pink-haired sensitive film buff who spends the first season wrestling with his burgeoning bisexuality

I'm pleasantly surprised that Evan Mock is doing a decent job of playing Aki's attraction to Max.
I just wish they wouldn't give Max the tired old retread of a teacher-student romance. I guess it's progress that this story is given to two gay male characters, and they're clear that Max is over the age of consent, but that doesn't change the fact that legal age of consent doesn't apply to teacher-student relationships.
The story for Max's dads is something different and rarely seen on TV. But I think they could've kept that for later in the series, once the teens are better established before we explore the parental units.
Fun fact: The naked actor in the play was Paul James, who played gay Calvin on Greek many years ago.

Gossip Girl has announced their season 2 renewal. We still have the back half of season 1 to come later this year.

Haven't really paid attention to this show, are they still going with the teachers controlling Gossip Girl? I really hope it get stolen by a mysterious someone, cause having a mystery peer controlling this all knowing website was always the best part of the intrigue to me.

As of the summer hiatus, yes it was still the teachers. Not sure if it'll still be them moving forward. I think the showrunner said he wanted to invert the formula and have GG's identity revealed upfront. I'm more curious about (out actor) Cole Doman kissing Aki in that trailer. Wasn't expecting Aki to have a male love interest besides Max (who looks to be having a straight romance).

They posted this short video about Queerness on Gossip Girl. Aki and Max feature in the clips (all from season 1) but not the interviews, presumably because neither Evan Mock nor Thomas Doherty are queer in real life.

It looks good! Can't wait for the new season. Right now there aren't that many gay storylines airing on tv or streaming, so maybe the timing is good, less competition I mean.

LGBTQ+ content this season has been decent, I would say an improvement over season 1 (I like Aki's arc and Evan Mock seems to have grown more comfortable playing a queer character - the scene where Aki gives it up to Max is hot).
Sadly, the show's ratings are presumably not good enough to merit another renewal, judging by Josh Safran's desperate plea for more fans to tune in, and we know the leadership at Discovery Warner (HBO Max's parent company) are just chomping at the bit to axe anything featuring minorities.

You are faster.
And again another Show, with a Gay and a Bi is gone.
I think really the US had a huge problem with Shows, nowadays with Gays onscreen, Gays or in generall LGBT representation. Only onboard, onscreen, OK, if it is totally overstereotyped, like for example Drags, (also that sitenote Drags not must be gay) or token behind the corner roles, or are asexual instead of gay, or the angel BFF.
OK, sorry it had nothing really with the Show Gossip Girl, to to, itself the Show reboot had his failures from the start, especialy the straight roles and especialy the women. But it is also really frustating, to see, that in Amerika it looks likes all goes back in time.

USA hates gays. I think one of the reasons gay shows get cancelled is because the gay shows just aren't that good. Lesbians are included in critically acclaimed shows, in addition to there being more lesbian characters on tv. So if they lose a few shows you won't really notice it, but if we lose both Gossip Girl and One of us is lying, then of course we notice because we only have like 10 gays in total on American tv.
