Sebastian Stan has been on the show for a while but in a couple of episodes as Carter. Blair hooked up with him last year to piss off Chuck plus he's got a rivalry with Chuck and Nate. He's also the actress who plays Blair's boyfriend in real life. I happened to catch the show filming a scene earlier this week with Eric, Little J and I think his bf on the steps of The Met museum so there should be at least one episode with Eric earlier in the season. thnx 4 the info about eric... I think Chace Crawford knew Sebastian Stan from before Gossip Girl cuz they were in that movie called The Covenant, with Taylor Kitsch and Steven Strait, if I'm not mistaken

Nice to know that Eric's boyfriend might be appearing soon... hope it isn't as part of one of Jenny's storyline though...
The Covenant is good, if only for all the hot boys in it...

Sry for the double post... but since the previous post was from months ago, I hope this is okay
Did anyone catch tonite's episode?? Seem like they are turning Eric in to a more scheming character and setting him up for a conflict with Jenny. Personally, I approve of these changes. Considering Gossip Girl is a show about scheming elite childrens, Eric's character has always stick out like a sore thumb. Hence, I can see why they had to evolve his personality, or he wouldn't really fit in any of the storyline that the show like to do. Hopefully, this change in personality will help give him more screen time.
Possible spoilers: The other big thing regarding Eric this episode is regarding his boyfriend Jonathon. Personally, I think the show did the right thing as I never seen a point for this couple. The fact that Jonathon has always been a goody-goody, always limited the story that they can do. At the same time, there is so little focus on Eric, and even less on him and his boyfriend, that their relationship is never explored at all. Without expanding on their relationship, it always seems really shallow and make me wonder why the two are even together.

If we could decide who we loved, it would be much simpler, but less magical.

Ok I need to get something off my chest. I was happy to hear that Eric would be a gay character and thinking here the CW really stepping up and showing a gay character in a positive light to the public. And then he disappeared, and shown up every so often. And it wasn't that he was a dull character or didn't click with the others. He was great with Serena and Blair, and I loved his brother relationship with Chuck. He was good friends with Nate and Dan, and I enjoyed his screen time more than Jenny's stories. And yet still no Eric except maybe a hint of a story here and there that never follow through. Or playing second fiddle to everyone else story.
Sure he had a boyfriend in Johnathan, but I don't think we ever saw them kiss, hold hands, be affectionate. (I might be wrong on that front) And then they were broken up, while it seems they were playing side kicks to Jenny's story.
And then Elliot came along and I was hoping we get to see more of them as a couple. They had great chemistry and were interesting. And then they just disappeared and Elliot was only mention here and there. And now they broke up off screen?
WTF? Why even bother making Eric gay, if they weren't going to show him as a full fledged character with real relationships with his boyfriends the same treatment everyone else got. It's one of the reasons I stopped watching the show, it just put a sour taste in my mouth.

I have a love-hate relationship of this show. No matter how rich or how spoiled the characters are, I just cannot believe everyone is so scamming and talk like a drama queen on stage.
Eric was never meant to be one of the main characters, and I don't see them making him a good SL any time soon either. I must admit that I will probably keep watching this show even it sucks in the gay department.

Not sure how much I like the current direction that they are taking Eric... but at least he is somewhat involved in the show now...

I'm actually glad to see Jonathan back, even if it is just for a few episodes. I still think he was the best boyfriend for Eric, and yes, even though they didn't touch much Anyway, they had more going on in that 30 second clip, more emotions, than they did during all those episodes they were together. Hopefully they'll continue with that. It was very well acted, you could feel they still cared about each other and still longed for each other

Well... he got together with Elliot in the latter part of season 3... it was revealed in the latest episode that Eric and Elliot broke up over the holidays... not that it matters too much, since you rarely see the two together, much less showing any affection...

I agree the lack of (onscreen) affection between Eric and his boyfriends is unfortunate. Next week's episode should be relatively Eric-centric because it is his 18th birthday, but surprise surprise, no boyfriend in sight! Ugh. It really would have been the ideal opportunity.
I read that Connor Paolo didn't want to sign a contract to become a regular castmember which is why Eric is not featured very much, but this is not an excuse as to why he isn't kissing his boyfriend when he IS featured.

From what I heard, that is not why Eric is not featured much. I heard the Paolo was offered a contract to be a regular cast, but when he asked if that will mean more screen time, ht was told that there would be no difference in screen time, just that he will be credited as regular cast. Since he get no benefit to being regular cast, he decided against the contract so he will still be available for other filming opportunities.
But I agree that him not being regular cast is no excuse for the lack of affection between Eric and his boyfriends...

Well, today's episode was Eric's b-day... and while there is still not progress on the romantic front for Eric, he was, surprisingly, quite involved in the storyline... Hopefully, they would continue with this, since the show really need more people to focus on aside from the core characters...

Hopefully, they would continue with this, since the show really need more people to focus on aside from the core characters... And there won't be any time soon.. at least not according to the AfterElton spoilers. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he is FINALLY getting some screen time, gay scenes or not. Though I do wish they would start to focus a little bit more of his life as a gay man too. He is gay, so it's obviously a part of who he is. I think they can have a storyline about Eric's life which also touches upon his love life. 4 seasons in and we still haven't seen him kiss his boyfriend! Kinda pathetic if you ask me.. Degrassi aired a transgender kiss, they were heavily making out.. but Gossip Girl can't even show Eric kiss his boyfriend?!?! so stupid..

Currently, I don't see much chance they will focus too much on Eric's love life, so I'm not surprised at that article... I am just hoping for more screen time and involvement for Eric... I am willing to take it one step at a time... more screentime, more involvement, and then start focusing on his love life...

In my opinion he did the right thing when he didn't accept being on contract (i don't think being on contract would affecto to his (lack) of screentime). I wish him luck in his new role

The actor is so much better than this show and I can't believe how horribly they treated him! Wow.. no wonder he left when he only got a few minutes of screen time every 5th episode.
