Mmmm, even with how impulsively cruel the American Lukas started out, and with him and Philip staying mostly clothed that first episode, that American adaptation just felt more intense than this one. When he sipped his beer and turned and pounced on the other one, it was cute, but then it was just a half second of make out choreo and a synced getting dressed in the tightest underwear ever. Eyewitness' Lukas had me believing he wanted to eat Philip for dinner and then breakfast the next morning with just a bit of a dry hump. Shame about Eyewitness season 2, I miss them, and an even greater shame about Bill. My heart has been since gone out to James. Having watched the full first two episodes, I think the show is following the Norwegian original very closely. One of the things the US did (surprisingly) when they lengthened the series from six to ten episodes was to expand on the boys' relationship. This French remake is only 6 episodes long like the original so I guess they won't get any extra airtime, plus they are only listed towards the end of the credits (i.e. not main characters). I think Victor and Jules did the best they could with the little time they were given, and those undies were a nice wardrobe choice short of nudity. I would've loved to see them recreate the intimate scenes James and Tyler had in the American remake but alas, I don't think we will be so lucky. Here is Victor's previous gay role: And these are Jules' previous gay roles: Can I just say, I am so glad actors - especially young ones like Jules and Victor - are no longer discouraged by their agents from taking up more than one gay role for fear of being typecast and/or inviting rumours about their sexual orientation? Times have changed, and for the better.

Just watched episodes 3 and 4. It didn't end well. The boys have even less to do with each other than in the Norwegian original. It's a sad day when you realize the USA, despite its puritanism, actually gives more exposure to a gay romance. The person who adapted this in French should hang his head in disgrace!
On a fun note, the guy playing Lucas's dad here may be familiar - he was one half of the gay couple in one of the iconic French gay films, Just a Question of Love. How time has flown - now he is the father of a teenager!

Typical crime drama ending. This video didn't show the boys being together again, but apparently there is a brief scene in the episode where they are together again and happy.
